Añadió después el Señor, y dijo a Job:
ENTONCES respondió Jehová á Job desde la oscuridad, y dijo:
Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
Moreover the LORD answered Job,
¿Cómo el que se pone a altercar con Dios tan fácilmente lo deja, y enmudece? A la verdad que quien arguye a Dios debe hallarse en estado de responderle.
Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
“Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”
Job entonces respondiendo al Señor, dijo:
¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿me condenarás á mí, para justificarte á ti?
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Then Job answered the LORD,
Yo que he hablado tan inconsideradamente, ¿qué es lo que puedo ahora responder? Nada. Cerraré mi boca con mi mano.
¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿y tronarás tú con voz como él?
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
“Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.
Una cosa he dicho, que ojalá nunca la hubiese dicho; y aun otra todavía, a las cuales no añadiré más palabra.
Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza: y vístete de honra y de hermosura.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”
Y habló el Señor desde el torbellino a Job, diciendo:
Esparce furores de tu ira: y mira á todo soberbio, y abátelo.
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind:
Ciñe otra vez tus vestidos en tus lomos como hombre valiente; yo voy a preguntarte; tú, respóndeme.
Mira á todo soberbio, y humíllalo, y quebranta á los impíos en su asiento.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
“Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.
¿Pretendes tú acaso invalidar mi juicio; y condenarme a mí por justificarte a ti mismo?
Encúbrelos á todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?
Si tienes, pues, un brazo fuerte como el de Dios, y si el tono de tu voz es semejante a su trueno,
Y yo también te confesaré que podrá salvarte tu diestra.
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?
revístete de resplandor, y súbete a lo alto, y haz alarde de tu gloria, y adórnate de magníficos vestidos.
He aquí ahora behemoth, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
“Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.
Disipa con su furor a los soberbios, y con una sola mirada abate a todos los altaneros.
He aquí ahora que su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su fortaleza en el ombligo de su vientre.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.
Clava tus ojos en todos los soberbios u orgullosos, y confúndelos; y aniquila a los impíos doquiera que estén.
Su cola mueve como un cedro, y los nervios de sus genitales son entretejidos.
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.
Sepúltalos a todos juntos debajo del polvo, y abisma sus cabezas en la fosa.
Sus huesos son fuertes como bronce, y sus miembros como barras de hierro.
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.
Entonces confesaré que tu diestra podrá salvarte.
El es la cabeza de los caminos de Dios: el que lo hizo, puede hacer que su cuchillo á él se acerque.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.
Mira a Behemont, o al elefante, a quien creé junto a ti; él se alimenta de heno como el buey.
Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él: y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
“See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.
Su fortaleza está en sus lomos, y su vigor en el ombligo de su vientre,
Echaráse debajo de las sombras, en lo oculto de las cañas, y de los lugares húmedos.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.
endurece y levanta su cola como cedro; los nervios de muslos están interiormente entrelazados uno con otro.
Los árboles sombríos lo cubren con su sombra; los sauces del arroyo lo cercan.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
Son sus huesos como pilares de bronce; como planchas o barras de hierro sus ternillas.
He aquí que él tomará el río sin inmutarse: y confíase que el Jordán pasará por su boca.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron.
El es el principal de los animales entre las obras de Dios; aquel que le creó hará uso de la espada de él.
¿Tomarálo alguno por sus ojos en armadijos, y horadará su nariz?
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.
Los montes producen hierba para su pasto; y allí junto a él retozarán todas las bestias del campo.

Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.
El duerme a la sombra en la espesura de los cañaverales y en lugares húmedos.

He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.
Los árboles sombríos cubren su morada, rodeándole los sauces de los arroyos.

The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.
Mira cómo él se sorbe un río, sin que le parezca haber bebido mucho; aun presume poder agotar el Jordán entero;

Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.
parece que se lo quiere tragar con los ojos, y lo absorbe con sus narices.

He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
