Du hast's vielleicht nicht gerne, so man versucht, mit dir zu reden; aber wer kann sich's enthalten?
Si probáremos á hablarte, serte ha molesto; mas ¿quién podrá detener las palabras?
If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
Siehe, du hast viele unterweiset und lasse Hande gestarkt;
He aquí, tú enseñabas á muchos, y las manos flacas corroborabas;
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands.
deine Rede hat die Gefallenen aufgerichtet, und die bebenden Kniee hast du bekraftiget.
Al que vacilaba, enderezaban tus palabras, y esforzabas las rodillas que decaían.
Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.
Nun es aber an dich kommt, wirst du weich; und nun es dich trifft, erschrickst du.
Mas ahora que el mal sobre ti ha venido, te es duro; y cuando ha llegado hasta ti, te turbas.
But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.

Ist das deine (Gottes-)Furcht, dein Trost, deine Hoffnung und deine Frommigkeit?

Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?
Lieber, gedenke, wo ist ein Unschuldiger umkommen, Oder wo sind die Gerechten je vertilget?
Recapacita ahora, ¿quién que fuera inocente se perdiera? y ¿en dónde los rectos fueron cortados?
Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?

Wie ich wohl gesehen habe, die da Muhe pflugten und Unglück saeten und ernten sie auch ein,
Como yo he visto, los que aran iniquidad y siembran injuria, la siegan.
Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

Und zu mir ist kommen ein heimlich Wort, und mein Ohr hat ein Wortlein aus demselben empfangen.

Wie mag ein Mensch gerechter sein denn Gott, Oder ein Mann reiner sein, denn der ihn gemacht hat?
¿Si será el hombre más justo que Dios? ¿si será el varón más limpio que el que lo hizo?
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

Siehe, unter seinen Knechten ist keiner ohne Tadel, und in seinen Boten findet er Torheit.
He aquí que en sus siervos no confía, y notó necedad en sus ángeles;

Wie viel mehr, die in den leimenen Hausern wohnen und welche auf Erden gegrundet sind, werden von den Wurmern gefressen werden.

How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

Es wahret von Morgen bis an den Abend, so werden sie ausgehauen; und ehe sie es gewahr werden, sind sie gar dahin;
De la mañana á la tarde son quebrantados, y se pierden para siempre, sin haber quien lo considere.
They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.

und ihre Ubrigen vergehen und sterben auch unversehens.
¿Su hermosura, no se pierde con ellos mismos? Mueren, y sin sabiduría.
Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
