Si probáremos á hablarte, serte ha molesto; mas ¿quién podrá detener las palabras?
If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
Car si tu as consolé beaucoup d'affligés, si tu as raffermi des mains défaillantes,
He aquí, tú enseñabas á muchos, y las manos flacas corroborabas;
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands.
Si par tes paroles, tu as ranimé des faibles, si tu as donné du courage à ceux dont les genoux fléchissaient,
Al que vacilaba, enderezaban tus palabras, y esforzabas las rodillas que decaían.
Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.
Maintenant que le mal t'a visité et t'a saisi, d'où vient que tu en es tout accablé ?
Mas ahora que el mal sobre ti ha venido, te es duro; y cuando ha llegado hasta ti, te turbas.
But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.
Ta terreur n'est-elle pas insensée, ton angoisse montre-t-elle autre chose que la méchanceté de tes voies ?
¿Es este tu temor, tu confianza, tu esperanza, y la perfección de tus caminos?
Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?
Recueille tes souvenirs ; qui donc étant resté pur a péri ? Quel homme sincère a été détruit radicalement ?
Recapacita ahora, ¿quién que fuera inocente se perdiera? y ¿en dónde los rectos fueron cortados?
Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?

Comme ceux qui labouraient et ensemençaient des contrées vaines et que j'ai vu moissonner pour eux des douleurs ?
Como yo he visto, los que aran iniquidad y siembran injuria, la siegan.
Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.
According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble, reap the same.
Ceux-là seront anéantis par l'ordre de Dieu ; ils seront effacés par le souffle de sa colère.
Perecen por el aliento de Dios, y por el espíritu de su furor son consumidos.
By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.

El león viejo perece por falta de presa, y los hijos del león son esparcidos.
The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion’s whelps are scattered abroad.

S'il y a quelque chose de vrai dans tes paroles, il n'en est résulté aucun soulagement à tes maux. Et moi, dois-je négliger les avertissements extraordinaires qui, de la part du Seigneur, sont venus à mes oreilles ?
El negocio también me era á mí oculto; mas mi oído ha percibido algo de ello.
Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.

Sobrevínome un espanto y un temblor, que estremeció todos mis huesos:

It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,

Quoi donc ! Est-ce qu'un mortel sera pur devant le Seigneur ? Est-ce qu'un homme sera irréprochable en ses œuvres,
¿Si será el hombre más justo que Dios? ¿si será el varón más limpio que el que lo hizo?
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?
Puisque Dieu ne peut se fier à ses serviteurs et qu'il découvre des défauts à ses anges ?
He aquí que en sus siervos no confía, y notó necedad en sus ángeles;
Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

Il écrase comme des vermisseaux ceux qui habitent des maisons de boue, de cette boue d'où nous avons été tirés.
¡Cuánto más en los que habitan en casas de lodo, cuyo fundamento está en el polvo, y que serán quebrantados de la polilla!

L'aurore se lève sur eux et le soir ils ne sont plus ; pour n'avoir pu s'aider eux-mêmes, ils ont péri.
De la mañana á la tarde son quebrantados, y se pierden para siempre, sin haber quien lo considere.
They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.

Car Dieu d'un souffle les a desséchés, et ils sont morts parce qu'ils manquaient de sagesse.
¿Su hermosura, no se pierde con ellos mismos? Mueren, y sin sabiduría.
Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
