“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
Eis que tens ensinado a muitos; tens fortalecido mãos fracas.
He aquí, tú enseñabas á muchos, y las manos flacas corroborabas;
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands.
Tuas palavras têm sustentado os que estavam caindo, tens feito fortes os joelhos vacilantes.
Al que vacilaba, enderezaban tus palabras, y esforzabas las rodillas que decaían.
Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.
Mas agora os problemas chegaram a ti e sofres; e, ao ser atingido, te aflinges.
Mas ahora que el mal sobre ti ha venido, te es duro; y cuando ha llegado hasta ti, te turbas.
But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.

Não poderia o teu temor a Deus te dar confiança? Não poderia a integridade dos teus caminhos te dar esperança?

Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?
Pensa sobre isto: quem alguma vez pereceu sendo inocente? Ou qual dos íntegros foi destruído?
Recapacita ahora, ¿quién que fuera inocente se perdiera? y ¿en dónde los rectos fueron cortados?
Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?

Baseado no que tenho observado, aquele que pratica iniquidade e que planta o mal também o colherá.
Como yo he visto, los que aran iniquidad y siembran injuria, la siegan.
Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,

Pode um homem mortal ser mais justo que Deus? Pode um homem ser mais puro que seu Criador?

Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

Eis que Deus não confia nos Seus servos; se até a Seus anjos atribui loucura,
He aquí que en sus siervos no confía, y notó necedad en sus ángeles;
Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

quanto mais aos que habitam em casas de barro, cuja fundação é o pó, que irão se desfazer mais rapidamente que a ferrugem?

How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

Entre a manhã e a noite, eles são destruídos; eles perecem para sempre sem que ninguém se lembre deles.
