Si probáremos á hablarte, serte ha molesto; mas ¿quién podrá detener las palabras?
If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
Certes, tu as fait la leçon à bien des gens; des bras qui tombaient de lassitude, tu les fortifiais.
He aquí, tú enseñabas á muchos, y las manos flacas corroborabas;
Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands.
Tes paroles relevaient celui qui trébuchait, les genoux qui chancelaient, tu les raffermissais.
Al que vacilaba, enderezaban tus palabras, y esforzabas las rodillas que decaían.
Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.
Et maintenant que le malheur te visite, tu te décourages; il met la main sur toi, et tu es consterné!
Mas ahora que el mal sobre ti ha venido, te es duro; y cuando ha llegado hasta ti, te turbas.
But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.
But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.
Ta piété n'est-elle pas pour te donner confiance? L'intégrité de ta conduite n'est-elle pas ton espoir?
¿Es este tu temor, tu confianza, tu esperanza, y la perfección de tus caminos?
Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?
Songes-y donc: est-il un innocent qui ait succombé? Où est-il arrivé que des justes aient péri?
Recapacita ahora, ¿quién que fuera inocente se perdiera? y ¿en dónde los rectos fueron cortados?
Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?
“Remember, now, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
Pour moi, j'ai observé ce fait: ceux qui cultivent l'iniquité et sèment le mal les récoltent.
Como yo he visto, los que aran iniquidad y siembran injuria, la siegan.
Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

Un souffle de Dieu les fait périr, le vent de sa colère les anéantit.
Perecen por el aliento de Dios, y por el espíritu de su furor son consumidos.
By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.

Quant à moi, il m'est venu une révélation furtive: mon oreille en saisit un léger murmure.

Je me sentis envahi par la terreur et le frisson; tous mes os en frémirent de peur.
Sobrevínome un espanto y un temblor, que estremeció todos mis huesos:

Une figure, dont les traits m'étaient inconnus, se tint là sous mes yeux, et j'entendis 'le faible son d'une voix:
Paróse un fantasma delante de mis ojos, cuyo rostro yo no conocí, y quedo, oí que decía:
It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,
It stood still, but I couldn’t discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying,
"L'homme me fut-il dit peut-il être juste devant Dieu? Le mortel peut-il être pur au gré de son Créateur?
¿Si será el hombre más justo que Dios? ¿si será el varón más limpio que el que lo hizo?
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?
Mais il ne se fie même pas à ses serviteurs; jusque dans ses anges il constate des défaillances!
He aquí que en sus siervos no confía, y notó necedad en sus ángeles;
Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

Que sera-ce des hommes, habitants de maisons d'argile, qui ont leurs fondements dans la poussière, et qu'on foule aux pieds comme un ver?
¡Cuánto más en los que habitan en casas de lodo, cuyo fundamento está en el polvo, y que serán quebrantados de la polilla!
How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

Du matin au soir, ils se trouvent écrasés; sans qu'on y fasse attention, ils périssent à jamais.
De la mañana á la tarde son quebrantados, y se pierden para siempre, sin haber quien lo considere.
They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.
Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it.
Ah! Le fil qui les soutenait est rompu: ils meurent, sans avoir acquis la sagesse!
¿Su hermosura, no se pierde con ellos mismos? Mueren, y sin sabiduría.
Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.
Isn’t their tent cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.’
