AHORA pues da voces, si habrá quien te responda; ¿y á cuál de los santos te volverás?
Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
“Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?
La colère tue l’insensé, et le dépit fait mourir celui qui est destitué de sens ;
Es cierto que al necio la ira lo mata, y al codicioso consume la envidia.
For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.
J’ai vu l’insensé étendant ses racines, mais soudain j’ai maudit sa demeure.
Yo he visto al necio que echaba raíces, y en la misma hora maldije su habitación.
I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.

Su mies comerán los hambrientos, y sacaránla de entre las espinas, y los sedientos beberán su hacienda.
Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.

Car la souffrance ne sort pas de la poussière, et la peine ne germe pas du sol,
Porque la iniquidad no sale del polvo, ni la molestia brota de la tierra.

De sorte que l’homme soit né pour la peine, comme l’étincelle pour voler en haut.
Empero como las centellas se levantan para volar por el aire, así el hombre nace para la aflicción.

Qui fait de grandes choses qu’on ne peut sonder, de merveilleuses choses qu’on ne peut compter ;
El cual hace cosas grandes é inescrutables, y maravillas que no tienen cuento:
Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
Qui répand la pluie sur la face de la terre, et qui envoie les eaux sur la face des champs ;
Que da la lluvia sobre la haz de la tierra, y envía las aguas por los campos:
Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;
Qui met en haut ceux qui sont abaissés, et ceux qui sont en deuil au faîte du bonheur ;
Que pone los humildes en altura, y los enlutados son levantados á salud:
To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.
so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.
Qui dissipe les projets des hommes rusés, et leurs mains ne viennent à bout de rien ;
Que frustra los pensamientos de los astutos, para que sus manos no hagan nada:
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.

Qui prend les sages dans leurs propres ruses, et le dessein des pervers est renversé.
Que prende á los sabios en la astucia de ellos, y el consejo de los perversos es entontecido;
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

De jour, ils rencontrent les ténèbres, et, comme dans la nuit, ils tâtonnent en plein midi ;
De día se topan con tinieblas, y en mitad del día andan á tientas como de noche:
They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.

Et il délivre le pauvre de l’épée de leur bouche, et de la main des puissants.
Y libra de la espada al pobre, de la boca de los impíos, y de la mano violenta;
But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
Et il y a une espérance pour les malheureux, et la méchanceté a la bouche fermée.
Pues es esperanza al menesteroso, y la iniquidad cerrará su boca.
So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
Voici, heureux l’homme que Dieu châtie ! Ne méprise donc pas la correction du Tout-Puissant.
He aquí, bienaventurado es el hombre á quien Dios castiga: por tanto no menosprecies la corrección del Todopoderoso.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
“Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
Car c’est lui qui fait la plaie et la bande ; il blesse et ses mains guérissent.
Porque él es el que hace la llaga, y él la vendará: él hiere, y sus manos curan.
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
For he wounds and binds up. He injures and his hands make whole.
Dans six détresses, il te délivrera ; et dans sept, le mal ne te touchera point.
En seis tribulaciones te librará, y en la séptima no te tocará el mal.
He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.
En temps de famine, il te garantira de la mort, et en temps de guerre, du tranchant de l’épée.
En el hambre te redimirá de la muerte, y en la guerra de las manos de la espada.
In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.
Tu seras à couvert du fléau de la langue, et tu n’auras point peur de la désolation, quand elle arrivera.
Del azote de la lengua serás encubierto; ni temerás de la destrucción cuando viniere.
Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
Tu riras de la dévastation et de la famine, et tu n’auras pas peur des bêtes de la terre ;
De la destrucción y del hambre te reirás, y no temerás de las bestias del campo:
At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
You will laugh at destruction and famine, neither will you be afraid of the animals of the earth.
Car tu auras un pacte avec les pierres des champs, et les bêtes des champs seront en paix avec toi.
Pues aun con las piedras del campo tendrás tu concierto, y las bestias del campo te serán pacíficas.
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
For you will be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field will be at peace with you.
Et tu verras la prospérité dans ta tente : tu visiteras tes pâturages,
Y sabrás que hay paz en tu tienda; y visitarás tu morada, y no pecarás.
And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
You will know that your tent is in peace. You will visit your fold, and will miss nothing.
Et rien ne t’y manquera ; et tu verras ta postérité croissante, et tes descendants pareils à l’herbe de la terre.
Asimismo echarás de ver que tu simiente es mucha, y tu prole como la hierba de la tierra.
Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.
You will know also that your offspring will be great, your offspring as the grass of the earth.
Tu entreras mûr dans le tombeau, comme une gerbe qu’on emporte en son temps.
Y vendrás en la vejez á la sepultura, como el montón de trigo que se coge á su tiempo.
Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.
You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
Voilà, nous avons examiné la chose ; elle est ainsi, écoute cela, et fais-en ton profit.
He aquí lo que hemos inquirido, lo cual es así: óyelo, y juzga tú para contigo.
Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
Behold, we have researched it. It is so. Hear it, and know it for your good.”
