Bildad de Súah responde a Job:
Y RESPONDIÓ Bildad Suhita, y dijo:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
«¿Hasta cuándo, oh Job, seguirás así, pronunciando palabras que son como viento tempestuoso?
¿Hasta cuándo hablarás tales cosas, y las palabras de tu boca serán como un viento fuerte?
How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
“How long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?
¿Acaso pervierte Dios la justicia?
¿Acaso pervertirá Dios el derecho, ó el Todopoderoso pervertirá la justicia?
Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?
Si tus hijos pecaron contra él y él los castigó,
Si tus hijos pecaron contra él, él los echó en el lugar de su pecado.
If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience.
y tú imploraste por ellos al Todopoderoso Dios,
Si tú de mañana buscares á Dios, y rogares al Todopoderoso;
If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
If you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty.
si fueras puro y bueno, él escucharía tu oración, te respondería y te bendeciría dándote un hogar feliz.
Si fueres limpio y derecho, cierto luego se despertará sobre ti, y hará próspera la morada de tu justicia.
If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
If you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.
Y habiendo comenzado con poco, al final tendrías mucho.
Y tu principio habrá sido pequeño, y tu postrimería acrecerá en gran manera.
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.
»Analiza la historia y observa,
Porque pregunta ahora á la edad pasada, y disponte para inquirir de sus padres de ellos;
For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
“Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.
porque apenas ayer nacimos y sabemos muy poco; nuestros días aquí en la tierra son efímeros como sombras.
Pues nosotros somos de ayer, y no sabemos, siendo nuestros días sobre la tierra como sombra.
(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)
(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)
Pero la sabiduría del pasado te enseñará. La experiencia de otros te hablará, recordándote que
¿No te enseñarán ellos, te dirán, y de su corazón sacarán palabras?
Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?
quienes se olvidan de Dios carecen de esperanza. Son como papiros sin pantano donde crecer, o como hierba sin agua que la mantenga viva: de pronto comienza a marchitarse, aun antes que la corten.
¿Crece el junco sin lodo? ¿crece el prado sin agua?
Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?
“Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?

Aun él en su verdor no será cortado, y antes de toda hierba se secará.
Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.
While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed.
—
Tales son los caminos de todos los que olvidan á Dios: y la esperanza del impío perecerá:
So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:
So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man will perish,
El hombre sin Dios se apoya en una telaraña; todo aquello en que confía caerá por tierra.
Porque su esperanza será cortada, y su confianza es casa de araña.
Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.
whose confidence will break apart, whose trust is a spider’s web.
Si en su hogar cree hallar seguridad, pronto se desengaña.
Apoyaráse él sobre su casa, mas no permanecerá en pie; atendráse á ella, mas no se afirmará.
He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
He will lean on his house, but it will not stand. He will cling to it, but it will not endure.
Al amanecer tiene aspecto muy vigoroso y viril; como planta verde, sus ramas se extienden por el jardín.
A manera de un árbol, está verde delante del sol, y sus renuevos salen sobre su huerto;
He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
He is green before the sun. His shoots go out along his garden.
Hunde sus raíces en la corriente, entre las piedras.
Vanse entretejiendo sus raíces junto á una fuente, y enlazándose hasta un lugar pedregoso.
His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.
His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones.
Pero desaparece, ¡y nadie lo echa de menos!
Si le arrancaren de su lugar, éste negarále entonces, diciendo: Nunca te vi.
If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.
If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have not seen you.’
¡Eso es todo cuanto puede esperar! Y otros vienen a ocupar su puesto.
Ciertamente éste será el gozo de su camino; y de la tierra de donde se traspusiere, nacerán otros.
Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
Behold, this is the joy of his way. Out of the earth, others will spring.
»¡Pero fíjate! Dios no rechaza al hombre bueno ni hace prosperar al malhechor.
He aquí, Dios no aborrece al perfecto, ni toma la mano de los malignos.
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
“Behold, God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers.
Aún llenará de risa tu boca y tus labios de gritos jubilosos.
Aun henchirá tu boca de risa, y tus labios de júbilo.
Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.
Quienes te odian serán vestidos de oprobio, y los impíos serán destruidos».
Los que te aborrecen, serán vestidos de confusión; y la habitación de los impíos perecerá.
They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
Those who hate you will be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked will be no more.”
