Er ist weise von Herzen und stark an Kraft: wer hat sich wider ihn verhärtet und ist unversehrt geblieben?
El es sabio de corazón, y poderoso en fortaleza: ¿quién se endureció contra él, y quedó en paz?
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
God is wise in heart, and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against him and prospered?
Der Berge versetzt, ehe sie es merken, er, der sie umkehrt in seinem Zorn;
Que arranca los montes con su furor, y no conocen quién los trastornó:
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
He removes the mountains, and they don’t know it, when he overturns them in his anger.
der die Erde aufbeben macht von ihrer Stätte, und ihre Säulen erzittern;
Que remueve la tierra de su lugar, y hace temblar sus columnas:
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

der der Sonne befiehlt, und sie geht nicht auf, und der die Sterne versiegelt;
Que manda al sol, y no sale; y sella las estrellas:
Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

der die Himmel ausspannt, er allein, und einherschreitet auf den Höhen des Meeres;

der Großes tut, daß es nicht zu erforschen, und Wundertaten, daß sie nicht zu zählen sind.
El que hace cosas grandes é incomprensibles, y maravillosas, sin número.

Siehe, er geht an mir vorüber, und ich sehe ihn nicht, und er zieht vorbei, und ich bemerke ihn nicht.

Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?

Gott wendet seinen Zorn nicht ab, unter ihn beugen sich Rahabs Helfer.
Dios no tornará atrás su ira, y debajo de él se encorvan los que ayudan á los soberbios.
If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.

Wieviel weniger könnte ich ihm antworten, meine Worte wählen ihm gegenüber!
¿Cuánto menos le responderé yo, y hablaré con él palabras estudiadas?
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
How much less will I answer him, and choose my words to argue with him?
Der ich, wenn ich gerecht wäre, nicht antworten könnte, um Gnade würde ich flehen zu meinem Richter.
Que aunque fuese yo justo, no responderé; antes habré de rogar á mi juez.
Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

Wenn ich riefe, und er mir antwortete, nicht würde ich glauben, daß er meiner Stimme Gehör schenken würde:

Wenn es auf Kraft des Starken ankommt, so sagt er: "Siehe hier!" und wenn auf Recht: "Wer will mich vorladen?"
Si habláremos de su potencia, fuerte por cierto es; si de juicio, ¿quién me emplazará?
If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?
If it is a matter of strength, behold, he is mighty! If of justice, ‘Who,’ says he, ‘will summon me?’
Wenn ich auch gerecht wäre, so würde mein Mund mich doch verdammen; wäre ich vollkommen, so würde er mich für verkehrt erklären.
Si yo me justificare, me condenará mi boca; si me dijere perfecto, esto me hará inicuo.

If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.

Die Erde ist in die Hand des Gesetzlosen gegeben, das Angesicht ihrer Richter verhüllt er. Wenn er es nun nicht ist, wer anders?
La tierra es entregada en manos de los impíos, y él cubre el rostro de sus jueces. Si no es él, ¿quién es? ¿dónde está?
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

Und meine Tage eilen schneller dahin als ein Läufer, sie entfliehen, schauen das Glück nicht.
Mis días han sido más ligeros que un correo; huyeron, y no vieron el bien.

so bangt mir vor allen meinen Schmerzen; ich weiß, daß du mich nicht für schuldlos halten wirst.
Contúrbanme todos mis trabajos; sé que no me darás por libre.
I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.

Aunque me lave con aguas de nieve, y limpie mis manos con la misma limpieza,
If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;

alsdann würdest du mich in die Grube tauchen, und meinen eigenen Kleidern würde vor mir ekeln.
Aun me hundirás en el hoyo, y mis propios vestidos me abominarán.
Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.

Denn er ist nicht ein Mann wie ich, daß ich ihm antworten dürfte, daß wir miteinander vor Gericht gehen könnten.

so will ich reden und ihn nicht fürchten; denn nicht also steht es bei mir.
Entonces hablaré, y no le temeré: porque así no estoy en mí mismo.
