“He is the one who moves mountains, and they do not know how, who overturns them in his anger.
Que arranca los montes con su furor, y no conocen quién los trastornó:
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.

He is the one who shakes the earth from its place, and its pillars tremble.

“⌞If⌟ he passes by me, ⌞I would not see him⌟; and if he should move on, ⌞I would not recognize him⌟.

Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.

⌞If⌟ he would snatch away, who could turn him? Who could say to him, ‘What are you doing?’
He aquí, arrebatará; ¿quién le hará restituir? ¿Quién le dirá, Qué haces?
Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
Behold, he snatches away. Who can hinder him? Who will ask him, ‘What are you doing?’
God will not turn back his anger; beneath him the helpers of Rahab bow.
Dios no tornará atrás su ira, y debajo de él se encorvan los que ayudan á los soberbios.
If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.

⌞How much less⌟ can I myself answer him? How can I choose my words with him,
¿Cuánto menos le responderé yo, y hablaré con él palabras estudiadas?
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
How much less will I answer him, and choose my words to argue with him?
whom I cannot answer, even though I am righteous? From my judge I must implore grace.
Que aunque fuese yo justo, no responderé; antes habré de rogar á mi juez.
Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.

If ⌞it is a matter of⌟ strength, look, he is mighty. But if ⌞it is a matter of⌟ justice, who can summon me?
Si habláremos de su potencia, fuerte por cierto es; si de juicio, ¿quién me emplazará?
If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?
If it is a matter of strength, behold, he is mighty! If of justice, ‘Who,’ says he, ‘will summon me?’
Even though I am righteous, my mouth will condemn me; even though I am blameless, yet it would pronounce me guilty.
Si yo me justificare, me condenará mi boca; si me dijere perfecto, esto me hará inicuo.
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
Though I am righteous, my own mouth will condemn me. Though I am blameless, it will prove me perverse.
“I am blameless; I do not care about myself; I loathe my life.
Bien que yo fuese íntegro, no conozco mi alma: reprocharé mi vida.

It is all one; therefore I say, ‘He destroys both the blameless and the wicked.’

When the whip kills suddenly, he mocks at the despair of the innocent.

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; he covers the face of its judge— if it is not he, then who is it?
La tierra es entregada en manos de los impíos, y él cubre el rostro de sus jueces. Si no es él, ¿quién es? ¿dónde está?

“And my days are swifter than a runner; they flee away; they do not see good.

I become afraid of all my sufferings; I know that you do not consider me innocent.
Contúrbanme todos mis trabajos; sé que no me darás por libre.

If I shall be declared guilty, why then should I labor in vain?

“For he is not a mortal like me that I can answer him, that ⌞we can come to trial together⌟.
Porque no es hombre como yo, para que yo le responda, y vengamos juntamente á juicio.
