Escutem bem, anciãos! Ouça todo o povo! Já aconteceu alguma coisa assim nos seus dias ou nos dias dos seus antepassados?
Oid esto, viejos, y escuchad, todos los moradores de la tierra. ¿Ha acontecido esto en vuestros días, ó en los días de vuestros padres?
Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?

Contem isso a seus filhos; que eles contem a seus filhos e que estes falem sobre isso às gerações seguintes.

Os campos estão vazios de colheitas. Em toda parte a terra pranteia. O cereal está destruído, o vinho novo e o azeite acabaram.

Ah! Está chegando o dia do Senhor e o castigo está próximo. A destruição que vem do Deus Todo-poderoso está bem próxima!
¡Ay del día! porque cercano está el día de Jehová, y vendrá como destrucción por el Todopoderoso.

Nossa comida vai desaparecer da nossa frente: toda alegria e satisfação acabarão no templo do nosso Deus.
