Día de oscuridad y de falta de luz, como negrura que se extiende sobre las montañas. Es un pueblo grande y poderoso. Nunca hubo algo igual, ni lo habrá en los años de muchas generaciones.
Día de tinieblas y de oscuridad, día de nube y de sombra, que sobre los montes se derrama como el alba: un pueblo grande y fuerte: nunca desde el siglo fué semejante, ni después de él será jamás en años de generación en generación.

No se estorban unos a otros, cada cual marcha por su camino. Cuando irrumpen a través de las defensas no rompen filas.

Delante de ellos tiembla la tierra y se estremecen los cielos, el sol y la luna se oscurecen y las estrellas retiran su fulgor.

Yavé da su voz ante su ejército. Su campamento es muy grande, poderoso el que ejecuta su Palabra. ¡Porque grande y terrible es el día de Yavé! ¿Quién lo podrá soportar?
Y Jehová dará su voz delante de su ejército: porque muchos son sus reales y fuertes, que ponen en efecto su palabra: porque grande es el día de Jehová, y muy terrible; ¿y quién lo podrá sufrir?
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

Rasguen su corazón, y no sus ropas. Regresen a Yavé su ʼElohim, Quien es clemente y compasivo, lento para la ira y grande en misericordia, y se duele del castigo.
Y lacerad vuestro corazón, y no vuestros vestidos; y convertíos á Jehová vuestro Dios; porque misericordioso es y clemente, tardo para la ira, y grande en misericordia, y que se arrepiente del castigo.
And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Quizás se vuelva, se conduela, y a su paso deje una bendición, es decir, una ofrenda vegetal y una libación para Yavé, el ʼElohim de ustedes.
¿Quién sabe si volverá, y se apiadará, y dejará bendición tras de él, presente y libación para Jehová Dios vuestro?
Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
Who knows? He may turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering to the LORD, your God.

congreguen al pueblo, santifiquen la asamblea, reúnan a los ancianos, reúnan a los niños y a los bebés! ¡Salga el novio de su habitación, y la novia de su tálamo!
Reunid el pueblo, santificad la reunión, juntad los viejos, congregad los niños y los que maman: salga de su cámara el novio, y de su tálamo la novia.
Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

¡Lloren los sacerdotes entre la entrada y el altar! Y digan los ministros de Yavé: Oh Yavé, perdona a tu pueblo. No entregues tu heredad al oprobio, a la burla entre los gentiles. ¿Por qué se dirá entre los pueblos: Dónde está su ʼElohim?
Entre la entrada y el altar, lloren los sacerdotes, ministros de Jehová, y digan: Perdona, oh Jehová, á tu pueblo, y no pongas en oprobio tu heredad, para que las gentes se enseñoreen de ella. ¿Por qué han de decir entre los pueblos: Dónde está su Dios?
Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

Entonces Yavé se llenará de celo por su tierra y de compasión por su pueblo.

Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:

Alejaré de ustedes al del norte, lo dispersaré por tierra seca y desolada. Su vanguardia estará hacia el mar oriental, y su retaguardia hacia el mar occidental. Se esparcirá su hediondez, y se extenderá su pestilencia, porque hizo grandes cosas.
Y haré alejar de vosotros al del aquilón, y echarélo en la tierra seca y desierta: su faz será hacia el mar oriental, y su fin al mar occidental, y exhalará su hedor; y subirá su pudrición, porque hizo grandes cosas.
But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.

¡Regocíjate y alégrate, oh tierra, y no temas, porque Yavé hizo proezas!
Tierra, no temas; alégrate y gózate: porque Jehová ha de hacer grandes cosas.
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.

No teman, animales del campo, porque los pastos del desierto germinarán, porque el árbol dará su fruto, y la vid y la higuera producirán abundante fruto.

Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.

¡Alégrense, oh hijos de Sion y regocíjense en Yavé su ʼElohim! Porque en su justicia les da la lluvia, la temprana y la tardía como antes.
Vosotros también, hijos de Sión, alegraos y gozaos en Jehová vuestro Dios; porque os ha dado la primera lluvia arregladamente, y hará descender sobre vosotros lluvia temprana y tardía como al principio.
Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

Las eras se llenarán de trigo, los lagares rebosarán de vino nuevo y aceite.

And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.

Les restituiré los años que devoraron el saltón, el saltamontes, el cigarrón y la langosta, mi gran ejército que envié contra ustedes.

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

Comerán en abundancia, se saciarán y alabarán el Nombre de Yavé su ʼElohim, porque hizo prodigios por ustedes. Nunca más mi pueblo será avergonzado.
Y comeréis hasta saciaros, y alabaréis el nombre de Jehová vuestro Dios, el cual hizo maravillas con vosotros: y nunca jamás será mi pueblo avergonzado.
And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied, and will praise the name of the LORD, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people will never again be disappointed.
Sabrán que Yo estoy en medio de Israel, que Yo soy Yavé su ʼElohim y que no hay algún otro. Mi pueblo nunca más será avergonzado.
Y conoceréis que en medio de Israel estoy yo, y que yo soy Jehová vuestro Dios, y no hay otro: y mi pueblo nunca jamás será avergonzado.
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
You will know that I am among Israel, and that I am the LORD, your God, and there is no one else; and my people will never again be disappointed.
Después de esto derramaré mi Espíritu sobre todo ser humano. Sus hijos y sus hijas profetizarán, sus ancianos tendrán sueños y sus jóvenes tendrán visiones.
Y será que después de esto, derramaré mi Espíritu sobre toda carne, y profetizarán vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas; vuestros viejos soñarán sueños, y vuestros mancebos verán visiones.
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Sucederá que todo el que invoque el nombre de Yavé será salvo, porque en la Montaña Sion y en Jerusalén quedará un remanente, según dijo Yavé. Y entre los supervivientes estarán los que Yavé llamó.
Y será que cualquiera que invocare el nombre de Jehová, será salvo: porque en el monte de Sión y en Jerusalem habrá salvación, como Jehová ha dicho, y en los que quedaren, á los cuales Jehová habrá llamado.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
It will happen that whoever will call on the LORD’s name shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the remnant, those whom the LORD calls.
