Día de tinieblas y de oscuridad, día de nublados y de torbellinos. Un pueblo numeroso y fuerte se derrama por todos los montes de la Judea, como se extiende la luz por la mañana, no lo ha habido semejante desde el principio , ni lo habrá en muchas generaciones.
Día de tinieblas y de oscuridad, día de nube y de sombra, que sobre los montes se derrama como el alba: un pueblo grande y fuerte: nunca desde el siglo fué semejante, ni después de él será jamás en años de generación en generación.

A su arribo quedarán yertos de terror los pueblos, y todas las caras se pondrán del color negro de una olla.

No se embarazarán los unos a los otros, cada uno tirará línea recta por su senda, y aun cayendo, o saltando desde las ventanas, no se harán daño.

A su llegada se estremecerá la tierra, los cielos se conmoverán, se oscurecerán el sol y la luna, y las estrellas retirarán su resplandor.

Porque el Señor ha hecho oír su voz al arribo de sus ejércitos, pues son innumerables sus batallones, los cuales son fuertes, y ejecutan sus órdenes. Porque es grande y muy terrible el día del Señor. ¿Y quién podrá soportarlo?
Y Jehová dará su voz delante de su ejército: porque muchos son sus reales y fuertes, que ponen en efecto su palabra: porque grande es el día de Jehová, y muy terrible; ¿y quién lo podrá sufrir?
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Y rasgad vuestros corazones, y no vuestros vestidos; y convertíos al Señor Dios vuestro, puesto que el Señor es benigno y misericordioso, y paciente, y de mucha clemencia, e inclinado a suspender el castigo.

Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
Who knows? He may turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering to the LORD, your God.

congregad el pueblo, purificad toda la gente, reunid los ancianos, haced venir los párvulos y los niños de pecho; salga del lecho nupcial el esposo, y de su tálamo la esposa.

Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

Lloren entre el vestíbulo y el altar los sacerdotes, ministros del Señor, y digan: ¡Perdona, Señor, perdona a tu pueblo, y no abandones al oprobio la herencia tuya, entregándola al dominio de las naciones! Porque tendrán pretexto las gentes para decir: El Dios de ellos ¿dónde está?
Entre la entrada y el altar, lloren los sacerdotes, ministros de Jehová, y digan: Perdona, oh Jehová, á tu pueblo, y no pongas en oprobio tu heredad, para que las gentes se enseñoreen de ella. ¿Por qué han de decir entre los pueblos: Dónde está su Dios?

Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:

Y arrojaré lejos de vosotros a aquel enemigo que vino del septentrión, y lo echaré a un país despoblado y desierto: su vanguardia hacia el mar de oriente; y la retaguardia hacia el mar más distante; y allí se pudrirá y despedirá fétido olor por haber obrado con tanta soberbia.
Y haré alejar de vosotros al del aquilón, y echarélo en la tierra seca y desierta: su faz será hacia el mar oriental, y su fin al mar occidental, y exhalará su hedor; y subirá su pudrición, porque hizo grandes cosas.
But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
But I will remove the northern army far away from you, and will drive it into a barren and desolate land, its front into the eastern sea, and its back into the western sea; and its stench will come up, and its bad smell will rise.” Surely he has done great things.
No tienes ya que temer, ¡oh tierra de Judá!, gózate y alégrate, porque el Señor ha obrado grandes maravillas a favor tuyo.

Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.

Vosotros, ¡oh animales del campo!, no temáis ya; porque las campiñas del desierto van a cubrirse de hierba, darán su fruto los árboles, los higuerales y las viñas han brotado con todo vigor.

Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
Don’t be afraid, you animals of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness spring up, for the tree bears its fruit. The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.
Y vosotros, ¡oh hijos de Sión!, gozaos y alegraos en el Señor Dios vuestro, porque os ha dado que nazca de vosotros el maestro de la justicia o santidad, y os enviará las lluvias de otoño y de primavera como antiguamente.
Vosotros también, hijos de Sión, alegraos y gozaos en Jehová vuestro Dios; porque os ha dado la primera lluvia arregladamente, y hará descender sobre vosotros lluvia temprana y tardía como al principio.
Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

Y compensaré los años estériles que ocasionó la langosta, el pulgón, la roya, y la oruga, terribles ejércitos que envié contra vosotros.

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

Y comeréis abundantemente hasta saciaros del todo, y bendeciréis el Nombre del Señor Dios vuestro, que ha hecho a favor de vosotros cosas tan admirables; y nunca jamás será confundido mi pueblo.

And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
You will have plenty to eat and be satisfied, and will praise the name of the LORD, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people will never again be disappointed.
Y conoceréis que yo resido en medio de Israel, y que yo soy el Señor Dios vuestro, y que no hay otro sino yo; y jamás por jamás volverá a ser confundido el pueblo mío.

And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

Y después de esto sucederá que derramaré yo mi espíritu divino sobre toda clase de hombres; y profetizarán vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas; vuestros ancianos tendrán sueños misteriosos, y tendrán visiones vuestros jóvenes.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
It will happen that whoever will call on the LORD’s name shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the remnant, those whom the LORD calls.
