1Entonces Jonás oró al Señor su Dios desde el vientre del pez.
2Comenzó así: “En mi agonía clamé al Señor y él me respondió. Desde las profundidades del Seol supliqué por ayuda, y tú me respondiste.
3Me lanzaste a lo profundo, al fondo del mar. El agua me cubrió por complete, y tus olas poderosas rodaban sobre me.
4Y me dije a mi mismo: ‘El Señor me ha expulsado de su presencia. ¿Podré ver tu santo Templo otra vez?’
5El agua formó un torbellino sobre mi y no podría respirar. Las profundidades me arrastraban, y las algas se enredaban en mi cabeza.
6Me hundí hasta la base de las montañas; la tierra me cerró sus puertas para siempre. Pero tu, mi Señor, mi Dios, me sacaste del abismo.
7“Mientras mi vida se desvanecía, me acordé del Señor, y mi oración llegó a tu santo Templo.
8Los que adoran a los ídolos vanos, renuncian a su confianza en la bondad de Dios.
9Pero yo te ofreceré sacrificios, y gritaré mi gratitud. Guardaré las promesas que te he hecho, porque la salvación viene del Señor”.
10Entonces el Señor mandó al pez a que vomitara a Jonás en la orilla.

1MAS Jehová había prevenido un gran pez que tragase á Jonás: y estuvo Jonás en el vientre del pez tres días y tres noches.
2Y oró Jonás desde el vientre del pez á Jehová su Dios,
3Y dijo: Clamé de mi tribulación á Jehová, y él me oyó; del vientre del sepulcro clamé, y mi voz oiste.
4Echásteme en el profundo, en medio de los mares, y rodeóme la corriente; todas tus ondas y tus olas pasaron sobre mí.
5Y yo dije: Echado soy de delante de tus ojos: mas aun veré tu santo templo.
6Las aguas me rodearon hasta el alma, rodeóme el abismo; la ova se enredó á mi cabeza.
7Descendí á las raíces de los montes; la tierra echó sus cerraduras sobre mí para siempre: mas tú sacaste mi vida de la sepultura, oh Jehová Dios mío.
8Cuando mi alma desfallecía en mí, acordéme de Jehová; y mi oración entró hasta ti en tu santo templo.
9Los que guardan las vanidades ilusorias, su misericordia abandonan.
10Yo empero con voz de alabanza te sacrificaré; pagaré lo que prometí. La salvación pertenece á Jehová. Y mandó Jehová al pez, y vomitó á Jonás en tierra.

1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly,
2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
10And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
World English Bible
1Then Jonah prayed to the LORD, his God, out of the fish’s belly.
2He said, “I called because of my affliction to the LORD. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice.
3For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me.
4I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’
5The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever; yet you have brought my life up from the pit, LORD my God.
7“When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.
8Those who regard vain idols forsake their own mercy.
9But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to the LORD.”
10Then the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.
