Et la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Jonas une seconde fois en ces termes :
Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová segunda vez á Jonás, diciendo:

Lève-toi, va à Ninive, la grande ville, et prêche-lui ce que je te dirai.
Levántate, y ve á Nínive, aquella gran ciudad, y publica en ella el pregón que yo te diré.

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I give you.”
Et Jonas se leva et alla à Ninive, selon la parole de l'Eternel. Or, Ninive était une ville grande devant Dieu, de trois journées de chemin.
Y levantóse Jonás, y fué á Nínive, conforme á la palabra de Jehová. Y era Nínive ciudad sobremanera grande, de tres días de camino.

Et Jonas commença par s'avancer dans la ville le chemin d'une journée, et il prêcha et dit : Encore quarante jours et Ninive sera détruite !
Y comenzó Jonás á entrar por la ciudad, camino de un día, y pregonaba diciendo: De aquí á cuarenta días Nínive será destruída.

Et il fit publier par crieurs dans Ninive : Par décret du roi et de ses grands : Que ni gens, ni bêtes, bœufs et brebis, ne mangent rien, ne paissent point et ne boivent point d'eau,
E hizo pregonar y anunciar en Nínive, por mandado del rey y de sus grandes, diciendo: Hombres y animales, bueyes y ovejas, no gusten cosa alguna, no se les dé alimento, ni beban agua:
And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

et qu'ils se couvrent de sacs, gens et bêtes, et crient à Dieu de toutes, leurs forces et qu'ils se détournent chacun de sa mauvaise voie et des actes de violence qu'ils commettent.
Y que se cubran de saco los hombres y los animales, y clamen á Dios fuertemente: y conviértase cada uno de su mal camino, de la rapiña que está en sus manos.
But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

Qui sait si Dieu ne se repentira pas et ne reviendra pas de l'ardeur de sa colère, en sorte que nous ne périssions point ?
¿Quién sabe si se volverá y arrepentirá Dios, y se apartará del furor de su ira, y no pereceremos?
Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Et Dieu vit ce qu'ils faisaient, comment ils se détournaient de leur mauvaise voie, et Dieu se repentit du mal qu'il avait dit qu'il leur ferait et ne le fit pas.
Y vió Dios lo que hicieron, que se convirtieron de su mal camino: y arrepintióse del mal que había dicho les había de hacer, y no lo hizo.
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
