Puis la parole de l’Eternel fut adressée à Jonas une seconde fois, en disant :
Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová segunda vez á Jonás, diciendo:

Lève-toi, et t’en va à Ninive la grande ville ; et y publie à haute voix ce que je t’ordonne.
Levántate, y ve á Nínive, aquella gran ciudad, y publica en ella el pregón que yo te diré.

Jonas donc se leva, et s’en alla à Ninive, suivant la parole de l’Eternel. Or Ninive était une très-grande ville, de trois journées de chemin.
Y levantóse Jonás, y fué á Nínive, conforme á la palabra de Jehová. Y era Nínive ciudad sobremanera grande, de tres días de camino.

Et Jonas commença d’entrer dans la ville le chemin d’une journée, et il cria et dit : Encore quarante jours, et Ninive sera renversée.

Car cette parole était parvenue jusqu’au Roi de Ninive, lequel se leva de son trône, et ôta de dessus soi son vêtement magnifique, et se couvrit d’un sac, et s’assit sur la cendre.
Y llegó el negocio hasta el rey de Nínive, y levantóse de su silla, y echó de sí su vestido, y cubrióse de saco, y se sentó sobre ceniza.

Puis il fit faire une proclamation, et on publia dans Ninive par le décret du Roi et de ses Princes, en disant : Que ni homme, ni bête, ni boeuf, ni brebis, ne goûtent d’aucune chose, qu’ils ne se repaissent point, et qu’ils ne boivent point d’eau.
E hizo pregonar y anunciar en Nínive, por mandado del rey y de sus grandes, diciendo: Hombres y animales, bueyes y ovejas, no gusten cosa alguna, no se les dé alimento, ni beban agua:

Et que les hommes soient couverts de sacs, et les bêtes aussi ; et qu’ils crient à Dieu de toute leur force, et que chacun se convertisse de sa mauvaise voie, et des actions violentes qu’ils ont commises.
Y que se cubran de saco los hombres y los animales, y clamen á Dios fuertemente: y conviértase cada uno de su mal camino, de la rapiña que está en sus manos.
But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

Qui sait si Dieu viendra à se repentir, et s’il se détournera de l’ardeur de sa colère, en sorte que nous ne périssions point.
¿Quién sabe si se volverá y arrepentirá Dios, y se apartará del furor de su ira, y no pereceremos?
Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Et Dieu regarda à ce qu’ils avaient fait, savoir comment ils s’étaient détournés de leur mauvaise voie, et Dieu se repentit du mal qu’il avait dit qu’il leur ferait, et ne le fit point. Retournez au Début
Y vió Dios lo que hicieron, que se convirtieron de su mal camino: y arrepintióse del mal que había dicho les había de hacer, y no lo hizo.
