Jonás 3

Nun erging das Wort des HERRN an Jona zum zweitenmal folgendermaßen:

Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová segunda vez á Jonás, diciendo:

And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

The LORD’s word came to Jonah the second time, saying,

»Mache dich auf, begib dich nach der großen Stadt Ninive und laß sie die Botschaft hören, die ich dir ansagen werde!«

Levántate, y ve á Nínive, aquella gran ciudad, y publica en ella el pregón que yo te diré.

Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I give you.”

Da machte Jona sich auf den Weg und begab sich nach Ninive, wie der HERR ihm geboten hatte. Ninive war aber eine gewaltig große Stadt, deren Durchwanderung drei Tagereisen erforderte.

Y levantóse Jonás, y fué á Nínive, conforme á la palabra de Jehová. Y era Nínive ciudad sobremanera grande, de tres días de camino.

So begann denn Jona eine Tagereise weit in die Stadt hineinzugehen und predigte dabei mit den Worten: »Noch vierzig Tage, dann ist Ninive zerstört!«

Y comenzó Jonás á entrar por la ciudad, camino de un día, y pregonaba diciendo: De aquí á cuarenta días Nínive será destruída.

Da glaubten die Einwohner von Ninive an Gott, riefen ein Fasten aus und legten Sackleinen an, klein und groß;

Y los hombres de Nínive creyeron á Dios, y pregonaron ayuno, y vistiéronse de sacos desde el mayor de ellos hasta el menor de ellos.

So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

und als die Kunde davon zum König von Ninive gelangte, erhob er sich von seinem Thron, legte seinen Mantel ab, hüllte sich in ein Trauergewand und setzte sich in die Asche.

Y llegó el negocio hasta el rey de Nínive, y levantóse de su silla, y echó de sí su vestido, y cubrióse de saco, y se sentó sobre ceniza.

For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

Sodann ließ er in Ninive durch Ausruf bekanntmachen: »Auf Befehl des Königs und seiner Großen (wird folgende Verordnung erlassen): Menschen und Vieh, Rinder und Kleinvieh sollen durchaus nichts genießen; dürfen nicht auf die Weide gehen und kein Wasser trinken,

E hizo pregonar y anunciar en Nínive, por mandado del rey y de sus grandes, diciendo: Hombres y animales, bueyes y ovejas, no gusten cosa alguna, no se les dé alimento, ni beban agua:

And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

He made a proclamation and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, “Let neither man nor animal, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed, nor drink water;

sondern sollen, sowohl Menschen als Vieh, in Sackleinen gekleidet sein und mit aller Macht zu Gott rufen und umkehren ein jeder von seinem bösen Wege und von dem Unrecht ablassen, das an seinen Händen klebt!

Y que se cubran de saco los hombres y los animales, y clamen á Dios fuertemente: y conviértase cada uno de su mal camino, de la rapiña que está en sus manos.

But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

Vielleicht tut es Gott dann doch noch leid, und er läßt von seinem lodernden Zorn ab, so daß wir nicht untergehen!«

¿Quién sabe si se volverá y arrepentirá Dios, y se apartará del furor de su ira, y no pereceremos?

Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Who knows whether God will not turn and relent, and turn away from his fierce anger, so that we might not perish?”

Als nun Gott sah, was sie taten, daß sie nämlich von ihrem bösen Wege umkehrten, tat ihm das Unheil leid, das er ihnen angedroht hatte, und er ließ es nicht eintreten.

Y vió Dios lo que hicieron, que se convirtieron de su mal camino: y arrepintióse del mal que había dicho les había de hacer, y no lo hizo.

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
