Jonás 3

A palavra de Yahweh veio a Jonas pela segunda vez, dizendo:

Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová segunda vez á Jonás, diciendo:

And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

The LORD’s word came to Jonah the second time, saying,

"Levanta, vai a Nínive, aquela grande cidade, e proclama a ela a mensagem que te ordenei".

Levántate, y ve á Nínive, aquella gran ciudad, y publica en ella el pregón que yo te diré.

Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I give you.”

Então Jonas se levantou e foi para Nínive, em obediência à palavra de Yahweh. Era cidade muito grande, sendo necessários três dias para percorrê-la.

Y levantóse Jonás, y fué á Nínive, conforme á la palabra de Jehová. Y era Nínive ciudad sobremanera grande, de tres días de camino.

So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey.

Jonas entrou na cidade e a percorreu durante um dia, proclamando: "Daqui a quarenta dias, Nínive será destruída".

Y comenzó Jonás á entrar por la ciudad, camino de un día, y pregonaba diciendo: De aquí á cuarenta días Nínive será destruída.

And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

Os habitantes de Nínive creram em Deus e proclamaram um jejum. Todos puseram sobre si panos de saco, desde o maior até o menor.

Y los hombres de Nínive creyeron á Dios, y pregonaron ayuno, y vistiéronse de sacos desde el mayor de ellos hasta el menor de ellos.

So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

Quando a notícia chegou ao rei de Nínive, ele se levantou do trono, tirou as vestes reais, cobriu-se com pano de saco e sentou-se sobre cinzas.

Y llegó el negocio hasta el rey de Nínive, y levantóse de su silla, y echó de sí su vestido, y cubrióse de saco, y se sentó sobre ceniza.

For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

The news reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, took off his royal robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

Então fez uma proclamação e a publicou em Nínive: "Pelo decreto do rei e seus nobres, não há permissão para homem ou animal, manada ou ovelha comer coisa alguma. Não os deixeis comer, nem beber água,

E hizo pregonar y anunciar en Nínive, por mandado del rey y de sus grandes, diciendo: Hombres y animales, bueyes y ovejas, no gusten cosa alguna, no se les dé alimento, ni beban agua:

And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

He made a proclamation and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, “Let neither man nor animal, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed, nor drink water;

mas sejam cobertos de pano de saco, tanto os homens como os animais, e clamem a Deus com força. Cada um abandone seus maus caminhos e a violência que está em suas mãos.

Y que se cubran de saco los hombres y los animales, y clamen á Dios fuertemente: y conviértase cada uno de su mal camino, de la rapiña que está en sus manos.

But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and animal, and let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let them turn everyone from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.

Quem sabe abrirá Deus mão de Sua ira e mudará Sua decisão, para que não sejamos destruídos?"

¿Quién sabe si se volverá y arrepentirá Dios, y se apartará del furor de su ira, y no pereceremos?

Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Who knows whether God will not turn and relent, and turn away from his fierce anger, so that we might not perish?”

E Deus viu o que fez o povo, como abandonou seus maus caminhos. Então Deus mudou de ideia sobre a punição que Ele disse que lhe faria, e não o fez.

Y vió Dios lo que hicieron, que se convirtieron de su mal camino: y arrepintióse del mal que había dicho les había de hacer, y no lo hizo.

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
