Jonás 3

La parole de l'Eternel fut adressée une seconde fois à Jonas, en ces termes:

Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová segunda vez á Jonás, diciendo:

And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

The LORD’s word came to Jonah the second time, saying,

"Lève-toi, va à Ninive la grande ville, et fais-y la publication que je te dicterai."

Levántate, y ve á Nínive, aquella gran ciudad, y publica en ella el pregón que yo te diré.

Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I give you.”

Jonas se leva et se rendit à Ninive, selon l'ordre du Seigneur. Or, Ninive était une ville puissamment grande: †il fallait trois jours pour la parcourir.

Y levantóse Jonás, y fué á Nínive, conforme á la palabra de Jehová. Y era Nínive ciudad sobremanera grande, de tres días de camino.

Jonas commença à parcourir la ville l'espace d'une journée, et publia cette annonce: "Encore quarante jours, et Ninive sera détruite!"

Y comenzó Jonás á entrar por la ciudad, camino de un día, y pregonaba diciendo: De aquí á cuarenta días Nínive será destruída.

Les habitants de Ninive crurent en Dieu; ils proclamèrent un jeûne, et tous, grands et petits, se vêtirent de cilices.

Y los hombres de Nínive creyeron á Dios, y pregonaron ayuno, y vistiéronse de sacos desde el mayor de ellos hasta el menor de ellos.

So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

Le bruit étant parvenu jusqu'au roi de Ninive, il se leva de son trône, jeta bas son manteau, se couvrit d'un cilice et s'assit sur la cendre.

Y llegó el negocio hasta el rey de Nínive, y levantóse de su silla, y echó de sí su vestido, y cubrióse de saco, y se sentó sobre ceniza.

For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

Et il fit publier dans Ninive comme décret du roi et de ses dignitaires ce qui suit: "Que ni homme ni bête, ni gros ni menu bétail ne goûtent quoi que ce soit; qu'on ne les laisse pâturer ni boire de l'eau.

E hizo pregonar y anunciar en Nínive, por mandado del rey y de sus grandes, diciendo: Hombres y animales, bueyes y ovejas, no gusten cosa alguna, no se les dé alimento, ni beban agua:

And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

Que les hommes et le bétail soient enveloppés de cilices; que chacun invoque Dieu avec force, qu'il renonce à sa mauvaise conduite et à la rapine qui est dans ses mains!

Y que se cubran de saco los hombres y los animales, y clamen á Dios fuertemente: y conviértase cada uno de su mal camino, de la rapiña que está en sus manos.

But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

Qui sait? Peut-être Dieu, se ravisant, révoquera-t-il son arrêt et se départira-t-il de son courroux, pour que nous ne périssions pas."

¿Quién sabe si se volverá y arrepentirá Dios, y se apartará del furor de su ira, y no pereceremos?

Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Who knows whether God will not turn and relent, and turn away from his fierce anger, so that we might not perish?”

Dieu, en effet, considérant leur conduite, voyant qu'ils avaient abandonné leur mauvaise voie, revint sur la calamité qu'il leur avait annoncée et n'accomplit pas sa menace.

Y vió Dios lo que hicieron, que se convirtieron de su mal camino: y arrepintióse del mal que había dicho les había de hacer, y no lo hizo.

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
