2Se quejó de ello ante el Señor: ―Señor, esto es exactamente lo que pensé que harías, cuando todavía estaba en mi tierra y me dijiste que viniera a Nínive. Por esta razón hui a Tarsis. Yo sabía que eres un Dios compasivo, misericordioso, que te cuesta mucho enojarte y que eres lleno de bondad. Yo sabía que con facilidad dejarías la idea de destruir a este pueblo.

2Y oró á Jehová, y dijo: Ahora, oh Jehová, ¿no es esto lo que yo decía estando aún en mi tierra? Por eso me precaví huyendo á Tarsis: porque sabía yo que tú eres Dios clemente y piadoso, tardo á enojarte, y de grande misericordia, y que te arrepientes del mal.

2And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.

World English Bible

2He prayed to the LORD, and said, “Please, LORD, wasn’t this what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore I hurried to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and you relent of doing harm.
