fürchteten sie sich sehr (denn Gibeon war eine große Stadt, wie eine königliche Stadt, und größer denn Ai, und alle ihr Bürger streitbar).

Y COMO Adonisedec rey de Jerusalem oyó que Josué había tomado á Hai, y que la había asolado, (como había hecho á Jericó y á su rey, así hizo á Hai y á su rey;) y que los moradores de Gabaón habían hecho paz con los Israelitas, y que estaban entre ellos;

Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

Und er sandte zu Hoham, dem Könige zu Hebron, und zu Piream, dem Könige zu Jarmuth, und zu Japhia, dem Könige zu Lachis, und zu Debir, dem Könige zu Eglon, und ließ ihnen sagen:

Tuvieron muy gran temor; porque Gabaón era una gran ciudad, como una de las ciudades reales, y mayor que Hai, y todos sus hombres fuertes.

That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.

Da kamen zuhauf und zogen hinauf die fünf Könige der Amoriter: der König zu Jerusalem, der König zu Hebron, der König zu Jarmuth, der König zu Lachis, der König zu Eglon, mit all ihrem Heerlager und belegten Gibeon und stritten wider sie.

Subid á mí, y ayudadme, y combatamos á Gabaón: porque ha hecho paz con Josué y con los hijos de Israel.

Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.

“Come up to me and help me. Let’s strike Gibeon; for they have made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.”

Aber die zu Gibeon sandten zu Josua ins Lager gen Gilgal und ließen ihm sagen: Zeuch deine Hand nicht ab von deinen Knechten! Komm zu uns herauf eilend, rette und hilf uns; denn es haben sich wider uns zusammengeschlagen alle Könige der Amoriter, die auf dem Gebirge wohnen.

Y cinco reyes de los Amorrheos, el rey de Jerusalem, el rey de Hebrón, el rey de Jerimoth, el rey de Lachîs, el rey de Eglón, se juntaron y subieron, ellos con todos sus ejércitos, y asentaron campo sobre Gabaón, y pelearon contra ella.

Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.

Y los moradores de Gabaón enviaron á decir á Josué al campo en Gilgal: No encojas tus manos de tus siervos; sube prestamente á nosotros para guardarnos y ayudarnos: porque todos los reyes de los Amorrheos que habitan en las montañas, se han juntado contra nosotros.

And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

Und der HERR sprach zu Josua: Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen, denn ich habe sie in deine Hände gegeben; niemand unter ihnen wird vor dir stehen können.

Y subió Josué de Gilgal, él y todo el pueblo de guerra con él, y todos los hombres valientes.

So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.

Also kam Josua plötzlich über sie, denn die ganze Nacht zog er herauf von

Y Jehová dijo á Josué: No tengas temor de ellos: porque yo los he entregado en tu mano, y ninguno de ellos parará delante de ti.

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

The LORD said to Joshua, “Don’t fear them, for I have delivered them into your hands. Not a man of them will stand before you.”

Aber der HERR schreckte sie vor Israel, daß sie eine große Schlacht schlugen zu Gibeon, und jagten ihnen nach den Weg hinan zu Beth-Horon und schlugen sie bis gen Aseka und Makeda.

Y Josué vino á ellos de repente, toda la noche subió desde Gilgal.

Und da sie vor Israel flohen den Weg herab zu Beth-Horon, ließ der HERR einen großen Hagel vom Himmel auf sie fallen bis gen Aseka, daß sie starben. Und viel mehr starben ihrer von dem Hagel, denn die Kinder Israel mit dem Schwert erwürgeten.

Y Jehová los turbó delante de Israel, é hiriólos con gran mortandad en Gabaón: y siguiólos por el camino que sube á Beth-oron, é hiriólos hasta Azeca y Maceda.

And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

The LORD confused them before Israel. He killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth Horon, and struck them to Azekah and to Makkedah.

Da redete Josua mit dem HERRN des Tages, da der HERR die Amoriter übergab vor den Kindern Israel, und sprach vor gegenwärtigem Israel: Sonne, stehe still zu Gibeon, und Mond, im Tal Ajalon!

Y como iban huyendo de los Israelitas, á la bajada de Beth-oron, Jehová echó sobre ellos del cielo grandes piedras hasta Azeca, y murieron: muchos más murieron de las piedras del granizo, que los que los hijos de Israel habían muerto á cuchillo.

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth-horon, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth Horon, the LORD hurled down great stones from the sky on them to Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the children of Israel killed with the sword.

Da stund die Sonne und der Mond stille, bis daß sich das Volk an seinen Feinden rächete. Ist dies nicht geschrieben im Buch des Frommen? Also stund die Sonne mitten am Himmel und verzog unterzugehen einen ganzen Tag.

Entonces Josué habló á Jehová el día que Jehová entregó al Amorrheo delante de los hijos de Israel, y dijo en presencia de los Israelitas: Sol, detente en Gabaón; y tú, Luna, en el valle de Ajalón.

Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel. He said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still on Gibeon! You, moon, stop in the valley of Aijalon!”

Und war kein Tag diesem gleich, weder zuvor noch danach, da der HERR der Stimme eines Mannes gehorchte; denn der HERR stritt für Israel.

Y el sol se detuvo y la luna se paró, hasta tanto que la gente se hubo vengado de sus enemigos. ¿No está aquesto escrito en el libro de Jasher? Y el sol se paró en medio del cielo, y no se apresuró á ponerse casi un día entero.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

Josua aber zog wieder ins Lager gen Gilgal und das ganze Israel mit ihm.

Y nunca fué tal día antes ni después de aquél, habiendo atendido Jehová á la voz de un hombre: porque Jehová peleaba por Israel.

And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

Aber die fünf Könige waren geflohen und hatten sich versteckt in die Höhle zu Makeda.

And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah.

Ihr aber stehet nicht stille, sondern jaget euren Feinden nach und schlaget ihre Hintersten; und lasset sie nicht in ihre Städte kommen, denn der HERR, euer Gott, hat sie in eure Hände gegeben.

Entonces Josué dijo: Rodad grandes piedras á la boca de la cueva, y poned hombres junto á ella que los guarden;

And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:

Und da Josua und die Kinder Israel vollendet hatten diese sehr große Schlacht an ihnen und gar geschlagen: was überblieb von ihnen, das kam in die festen Städte.

Y vosotros no os paréis, sino seguid á vuestros enemigos, y heridles la retaguardia, sin dejarles entrar en sus ciudades; porque Jehová vuestro Dios los ha entregado en vuestra mano.

And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.

but don’t stay there. Pursue your enemies, and attack them from the rear. Don’t allow them to enter into their cities; for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”

Also kam alles Volk wieder ins Lager zu Josua gen Makeda mit Frieden, und durfte niemand vor den Kindern Israel seine Zunge regen.

Y aconteció que como Josué y los hijos de Israel hubieron acabado de herirlos con mortandad muy grande, hasta destruirlos, los que quedaron de ellos se metieron en las ciudades fuertes.

And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.

Josua aber sprach: Machet auf das Loch der Höhle und bringet hervor die fünf Könige zu mir!

Y todo el pueblo se volvió salvo al campo á Josué en Maceda; que no hubo quien moviese su lengua contra los hijos de Israel.

And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.

Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave.

Da aber die fünf Könige zu ihm herausgebracht waren, rief Josua dem ganzen Israel und sprach zu den Obersten des Kriegsvolks, die mit ihm zogen: Kommt herzu und tretet diesen Königen mit Füßen auf die Hälse! Und sie kamen herzu und traten mit Füßen auf ihre Hälse.

Y cuando hubieron sacado estos reyes á Josué, llamó Josué á todos los varones de Israel, y dijo á los principales de la gente de guerra que habían venido con él: Llegad y poned vuestros pies sobre los pescuezos de aquestos reyes. Y ellos se llegaron, y pusieron sus pies sobre los pescuezos de ellos.

And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

When they brought those kings out to Joshua, Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the men of war who went with him, “Come near. Put your feet on the necks of these kings.” They came near, and put their feet on their necks.

Und Josua schlug sie danach und tötete sie und hing sie auf fünf Bäume; und sie hingen an den Bäumen bis zum Abend.

Y Josué les dijo: No temáis, ni os atemoricéis; sed fuertes y valientes: porque así hará Jehová á todos vuestros enemigos contra los cuales peleáis.

And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

Joshua said to them, “Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Be strong and courageous, for the LORD will do this to all your enemies against whom you fight.”

Da aber die Sonne war untergegangen, gebot er, daß man sie von den Bäumen nähme und würfe sie in die Höhle, darinnen sie sich verkrochen hatten; und legten große Steine vor der Höhle Loch. Die sind noch da auf diesen Tag.

Y después de esto Josué los hirió y los mató, é hízolos colgar en cinco maderos: y quedaron colgados en los maderos hasta la tarde.

And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

Desselben Tages gewann Josua auch Makeda und schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts, dazu ihren König, und verbannete sie und alle Seelen, die drinnen waren, und ließ niemand überbleiben; und tat dem Könige zu Makeda, wie er dem Könige zu Jericho getan hatte.

And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave’s mouth, which remain until this very day.

Da zog Josua und das ganze Israel mit ihm von Makeda gen Libna und stritt wider sie.

En aquel mismo día tomó Josué á Maceda, y la puso á cuchillo, y mató á su rey; á ellos y á todo lo que en ella tenía vida, sin quedar nada: mas al rey de Maceda hizo como había hecho al rey de Jericó.

And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.

Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with its king. He utterly destroyed it and all the souls who were in it. He left no one remaining. He did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

Und der HERR gab dieselbige auch in die Hand Israels mit ihrem Könige, und er schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts und alle Seelen, die drinnen waren, und ließ niemand drinnen überbleiben; und tat ihrem Könige, wie er dem Könige zu Jericho getan hatte.

Y de Maceda pasó Josué, y todo Israel con él, á Libna; y peleó contra Libna:

Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:

Danach zog Josua und das ganze Israel mit ihm von Libna gen Lachis und belegten und bestritten sie.

Y Jehová la entregó también á ella, y á su rey, en manos de Israel; y metióla á filo de espada, con todo lo que en ella había vivo, sin quedar nada: mas á su rey hizo de la manera que había hecho al rey de Jericó.

And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.

Zu derselbigen Zeit zog Horam, der König zu Geser, hinauf, Lachis zu helfen; aber Josua schlug ihn mit all seinem Volk, bis daß niemand drinnen überblieb.

Da kehrete Josua wieder um samt dem ganzen Israel gen Debir und bestritt sie

Y tomándola, la metieron á cuchillo, á su rey y á todas sus ciudades, con todo lo que en ella había vivo, sin quedar nada: como habían hecho á Eglón, así la destruyeron con todo lo que en ella había vivo.

And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein.

Also schlug Josua alles Land auf dem Gebirge und gegen Mittag und in den Gründen und an den Bächen mit allen ihren Königen; und ließ niemand überbleiben und verbannete alles, was Odem hatte,, wie der HERR, der Gott Israels, geboten hatte.

And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.
