Josué 10

Adoni-Cédek, roi de Jérusalem, ayant appris que Josué avait pris et détruit Aï, qu'il avait fait subir à cette ville et à son roi le même sort qu'à Jéricho et au sien, que les habitants de Gabaon avaient fait leur paix avec les Israélites et vivaient au milieu d'eux,

Y COMO Adonisedec rey de Jerusalem oyó que Josué había tomado á Hai, y que la había asolado, (como había hecho á Jericó y á su rey, así hizo á Hai y á su rey;) y que los moradores de Gabaón habían hecho paz con los Israelitas, y que estaban entre ellos;

Now it came to pass, when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

fut saisi de terreur; car Gabaon était une grande ville, une vraie ville royale, plus considérable que celle d'Aï, et tous ses hommes étaient des braves.

Tuvieron muy gran temor; porque Gabaón era una gran ciudad, como una de las ciudades reales, y mayor que Hai, y todos sus hombres fuertes.

That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty.

Adoni-Cédek, roi de Jérusalem, envoya donc dire à Hohâm, roi d'Hébron, à Pirâm, roi de Yarmouth, à Yaphya, roi de Lakhich, et à Debir, roi d'Eglôn:

Envió pues á decir Adonisedec rey de Jerusalem, á Oham rey de Hebrón, y á Phiream rey de Jerimoth, y á Japhia rey de Lachîs, y á Debir rey de Eglón:

Wherefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,

"Venez à moi et prêtez-moi main-forte, pour que nous attaquions Gabaon, parce qu'elle a fait sa paix avec Josué et les Israélites."

Subid á mí, y ayudadme, y combatamos á Gabaón: porque ha hecho paz con Josué y con los hijos de Israel.

Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.

“Come up to me and help me. Let’s strike Gibeon; for they have made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.”

Les cinq rois amorréens: le roi de Jérusalem, celui d'Hébron, celui de Yarmouth, celui de Lakhich et celui d'Eglôn, unissant leurs forces, marchèrent alors avec toutes leurs armées contre Gabaon et en firent le siège.

Y cinco reyes de los Amorrheos, el rey de Jerusalem, el rey de Hebrón, el rey de Jerimoth, el rey de Lachîs, el rey de Eglón, se juntaron y subieron, ellos con todos sus ejércitos, y asentaron campo sobre Gabaón, y pelearon contra ella.

Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.

Les gens de Gabaon firent dire à Josué, au camp de Ghilgal: "N'abandonne pas tes serviteurs! Hâte-toi de venir à notre secours et de nous soutenir, car tous les rois amorréens habitant la montagne se sont coalisés contre nous!"

Y los moradores de Gabaón enviaron á decir á Josué al campo en Gilgal: No encojas tus manos de tus siervos; sube prestamente á nosotros para guardarnos y ayudarnos: porque todos los reyes de los Amorrheos que habitan en las montañas, se han juntado contra nosotros.

And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

The men of Gibeon sent to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, saying, “Don’t abandon your servants! Come up to us quickly and save us! Help us; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill country have gathered together against us.”

Josué monta de Ghilgal avec tous ses gens de guerre, avec les plus braves combattants.

So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.

Et Dieu dit à Josué: "Ne les crains point, je les livre en ton pouvoir; pas un d'entre eux ne tiendra devant toi."

Y Jehová dijo á Josué: No tengas temor de ellos: porque yo los he entregado en tu mano, y ninguno de ellos parará delante de ti.

And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

The LORD said to Joshua, “Don’t fear them, for I have delivered them into your hands. Not a man of them will stand before you.”

Josué les attaqua à l'improviste, après avoir marché toute la nuit depuis Ghilgal;

Y Josué vino á ellos de repente, toda la noche subió desde Gilgal.

et l'Eternel les fit plier en désordre devant Israël, qui leur infligea, près de Gabaon, une terrible défaite, puis les poursuivit sur la montée de Béthorôn et les mena battant jusqu'à Azêka et Makkéda.

Y Jehová los turbó delante de Israel, é hiriólos con gran mortandad en Gabaón: y siguiólos por el camino que sube á Beth-oron, é hiriólos hasta Azeca y Maceda.

And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

The LORD confused them before Israel. He killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth Horon, and struck them to Azekah and to Makkedah.

Tandis qu'ils fuyaient devant Israël, comme ils se trouvaient sur la pente de Béthorôn, l'Eternel fit tomber sur eux, jusqu'à Azêka, d'énormes grêlons qui les tuèrent; et il en périt un plus grand nombre par ces grêlons que par l'épée des enfants d'Israël.

Y como iban huyendo de los Israelitas, á la bajada de Beth-oron, Jehová echó sobre ellos del cielo grandes piedras hasta Azeca, y murieron: muchos más murieron de las piedras del granizo, que los que los hijos de Israel habían muerto á cuchillo.

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Beth-horon, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth Horon, the LORD hurled down great stones from the sky on them to Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the children of Israel killed with the sword.

C'est alors, en ce jour où l'Eternel mit l'Amorréen à la merci des Israélites, que Josué fit appel au Seigneur et dit en présence d'Israël: "Soleil, arrête-toi sur Gabaon! Lune, fais halte dans la vallée d'Ayyalôn!"

Entonces Josué habló á Jehová el día que Jehová entregó al Amorrheo delante de los hijos de Israel, y dijo en presencia de los Israelitas: Sol, detente en Gabaón; y tú, Luna, en el valle de Ajalón.

Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel. He said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still on Gibeon! You, moon, stop in the valley of Aijalon!”

Et le soleil s'arrêta et la lune fit halte, jusqu'à ce que le peuple se fût vengé de ses ennemis, ainsi qu'il est écrit 'dans le Livre de Yachâr. Et le soleil, immobile au milieu du ciel, différa son coucher de près d'un jour entier.

Y el sol se detuvo y la luna se paró, hasta tanto que la gente se hubo vengado de sus enemigos. ¿No está aquesto escrito en el libro de Jasher? Y el sol se paró en medio del cielo, y no se apresuró á ponerse casi un día entero.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

Pareille journée ne s'est vue ni avant ni depuis lors, où l'Eternel ait obéi à la voix d'un mortel. C'est que Dieu combattait pour Israël!

Y nunca fué tal día antes ni después de aquél, habiendo atendido Jehová á la voz de un hombre: porque Jehová peleaba por Israel.

And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

Josué rentra ensuite, avec tout Israël, au camp de Ghilgal.

Et Josué dit: "Roulez de grosses pierres à l'entrée de la caverne, et postez-y des hommes pour les garder.

Entonces Josué dijo: Rodad grandes piedras á la boca de la cueva, y poned hombres junto á ella que los guarden;

And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them:

Et vous autres, ne perdez pas de temps, poursuivez, harcelez vos ennemis, empêchez-les de se replier dans leurs villes, car l'Eternel, votre Dieu, les a mis en votre pouvoir."

Y vosotros no os paréis, sino seguid á vuestros enemigos, y heridles la retaguardia, sin dejarles entrar en sus ciudades; porque Jehová vuestro Dios los ha entregado en vuestra mano.

And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the LORD your God hath delivered them into your hand.

but don’t stay there. Pursue your enemies, and attack them from the rear. Don’t allow them to enter into their cities; for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”

Lorsque Josué et les Israélites eurent achevé de leur infliger une défaite complète, de sorte qu'il n'en resta plus, à part quelques survivants qui se jetèrent dans les villes fortes,

Y aconteció que como Josué y los hijos de Israel hubieron acabado de herirlos con mortandad muy grande, hasta destruirlos, los que quedaron de ellos se metieron en las ciudades fuertes.

And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities.

tout le peuple s'en retourna tranquillement au camp de Josué, près de Makkéda: personne n'osa souffler mot contre un seul des enfants d'Israël.

Y todo el pueblo se volvió salvo al campo á Josué en Maceda; que no hubo quien moviese su lengua contra los hijos de Israel.

And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.

En conséquence, on lui amena ces cinq rois tirés hors de la caverne, le roi de Jérusalem, le roi d'Hébron, le roi de Yarmouth, le roi de Lakhich, le roi d'Eglôn.

E hiciéronlo así, y sacáronle de la cueva aquellos cinco reyes: al rey de Jerusalem, al rey de Hebrón, al rey de Jerimoth, al rey de Lachîs, al rey de Eglón.

And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.

Quand on les eut amenés devant Josué, il appela tous les Israélites et dit aux chefs des hommes de guerre qui l'avaient accompagné: "Approchez! Posez vos pieds sur le cou de ces rois!" Ils s'avancèrent et mirent le pied sur leur cou.

Y cuando hubieron sacado estos reyes á Josué, llamó Josué á todos los varones de Israel, y dijo á los principales de la gente de guerra que habían venido con él: Llegad y poned vuestros pies sobre los pescuezos de aquestos reyes. Y ellos se llegaron, y pusieron sus pies sobre los pescuezos de ellos.

And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

When they brought those kings out to Joshua, Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the men of war who went with him, “Come near. Put your feet on the necks of these kings.” They came near, and put their feet on their necks.

Josué reprit: "Soyez désormais sans crainte ni faiblesse, soyez courageux et résolus, car ainsi fera l'Eternel à tous les ennemis que vous aurez à combattre."

Y Josué les dijo: No temáis, ni os atemoricéis; sed fuertes y valientes: porque así hará Jehová á todos vuestros enemigos contra los cuales peleáis.

And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

Et Josué les fit mettre à mort et pendre à cinq potences, où ils restèrent attachés jusqu'au soir.

And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

Au coucher du soleil, sur l'ordre de Josué, on les détacha des potences, on les jeta dans la caverne où ils s'étaient cachés, et l'on plaça à l'entrée de grosses pierres, qui aujourd'hui même y sont encore.

Ce même jour, Josué avait pris Makkéda, l'avait passée par les armes et avait voué à la mort son roi, ainsi que tous les habitants, sans épargner personne; et il procéda pour le roi de Makkéda comme il avait fait pour celui de Jéricho.

En aquel mismo día tomó Josué á Maceda, y la puso á cuchillo, y mató á su rey; á ellos y á todo lo que en ella tenía vida, sin quedar nada: mas al rey de Maceda hizo como había hecho al rey de Jericó.

And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.

De Makkéda, Josué, avec tout Israël, marcha sur Libna, à qui il offrit la bataille;

Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:

And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.

De Libna, Josué et tout Israël s'avancèrent vers Lakhich, campèrent près de cette ville et l'attaquèrent.

Le Seigneur livra Lakhich au pouvoir d'Israël, qui s'en empara le second jour et passa toute la population au fil de l'épée, de la même façon qu'il avait traité Libna.

And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

A cette époque, Horam, roi de Ghézer, avait marché au secours de Lakhich: Josué le défit, lui et son armée, point qu'il n'en survécut pas un.

Entonces Horam, rey de Gezer, subió en ayuda de Lachîs; mas á él y á su pueblo hirió Josué, hasta no quedar ninguno de ellos.

Josué alors rebroussa chemin, avec tout Israël, dans la direction de Debir, attaqua cette ville,

Josué battit ainsi toute cette région, la montagne, le Midi, la vallée et les versants, et tous leurs rois, ne faisant point de quartier, proscrivant toute âme vivante, comme l'avait ordonné l'Eternel, Dieu d'Israël.
