1Und es geschah, als Jabin, der König von Hazor, es hörte, sandte er zu Jobab, dem König von Madon, und zu dem König von Schimron und zu dem König von Akschaph
2und zu den Königen, die gegen Norden waren im Gebirge und in der Ebene südlich von Kinneroth und in der Niederung und im Hügelgebiet von Dor gegen Westen,
3zu den Kanaanitern gegen Osten und gegen Westen, und zu den Amoritern und den Hethitern und den Perisitern und den Jebusitern im Gebirge, und zu den Hewitern am Fuße des Hermon im Lande Mizpa.
4Und sie zogen aus, sie und alle ihre Heerlager mit ihnen, ein großes Volk, wie der Sand, der am Ufer des Meeres ist, an Menge, und sehr viele Rosse und Wagen.
5Und alle diese Könige trafen zusammen und kamen und lagerten sich miteinander am Wasser Merom, um mit Israel zu streiten.
6Da sprach Jehova zu Josua: Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn morgen um diese Zeit will ich sie allesamt erschlagen vor Israel dahingeben: ihre Rosse sollst du lähmen und ihre Wagen mit Feuer verbrennen.
7Und Josua, und alles Kriegsvolk mit ihm, kam plötzlich über sie am Wasser Merom, und sie überfielen sie.
8Und Jehova gab sie in die Hand Israels, und sie schlugen sie und jagten ihnen nach bis Zidon, der großen Stadt, und bis Misrephot-Majim und bis in die Talebene von Mizpe gegen Osten; und sie schlugen sie, bis ihnen kein Entronnener übrigblieb.
9Und Josua tat ihnen, so wie Jehova ihm gesagt hatte: ihre Rosse lähmte er, und ihre Wagen verbrannte er mit Feuer.
10Und Josua kehrte in selbiger Zeit zurück und nahm Hazor ein, und seinen König erschlug er mit dem Schwerte; denn Hazor war vordem die Hauptstadt aller dieser Königreiche.
11Und sie schlugen alle Seelen, die darin waren, mit der Schärfe des Schwertes, indem sie sie verbannten: nichts blieb übrig, was Odem hatte; und Hazor verbrannte er mit Feuer.
12Und alle Städte dieser Könige, samt allen ihren Königen, nahm Josua ein und schlug sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und verbannte sie, so wie Mose, der Knecht Jehovas, geboten hatte.
13Nur alle die Städte, die auf ihren Hügeln standen, verbrannte Israel nicht; ausgenommen Hazor allein, das verbrannte Josua.
14Und alle Beute dieser Städte und das Vieh plünderten die Kinder Israel für sich; doch alle Menschen schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes, bis sie sie vertilgt hatten: sie ließen nichts übrig, was Odem hatte.
15Wie Jehova Mose, seinem Knechte, geboten hatte, also gebot Mose Josua, und also tat Josua; er ließ nichts fehlen von allem, was Jehova dem Mose geboten hatte.
16Und Josua nahm dieses ganze Land, das Gebirge und den ganzen Süden und das ganze Land Gosen und die Niederung und die Ebene, und das Gebirge Israel und seine Niederung, von dem kahlen Gebirge,
17das gegen Seir aufsteigt, bis Baal-Gad in der Talebene des Libanon, am Fuße des Berges Hermon; und alle ihre Könige ergriff er und erschlug sie und tötete sie.
18Lange Zeit führte Josua Krieg mit allen diesen Königen.
19Es war keine Stadt, die sich den Kindern Israel friedlich ergab, außer den Hewitern, die zu Gibeon wohnten; alles nahmen sie mit Krieg ein.
20Denn von Jehova war es, daß sie ihr Herz verhärteten zum Kriege mit Israel, damit sie vertilgt würden, ohne daß ihnen Gnade widerführe, sondern damit sie vertilgt würden, so wie Jehova dem Mose geboten hatte.
21Und Josua kam in selbiger Zeit und rottete die Enakim aus von dem Gebirge, von Hebron, von Debir, von Anab und von dem ganzen Gebirge Juda und von dem ganzen Gebirge Israel: mit ihren Städten verbannte sie Josua.
22Es blieben keine Enakim in dem Lande der Kinder Israel übrig; nur zu Gasa, zu Gath und zu Asdod blieben sie übrig.
23Und so nahm Josua das ganze Land, nach allem, was Jehova zu Mose geredet hatte; und Josua gab es Israel zum Erbteil, nach ihren Abteilungen, nach ihren Stämmen. Und das Land hatte Ruhe vom Kriege.

1OYENDO esto Jabín rey de Hasor, envió mensaje á Jobab rey de Madón, y al rey de Simrom, y al rey de Achsaph,
2Y á los reyes que estaban á la parte del norte en las montañas, y en el llano al mediodía de Cinneroth, y en los llanos, y en las regiones de Dor al occidente;
3Y al Cananeo que estaba al oriente y al occidente, y al Amorrheo, y al Hetheo, y al Pherezeo, y al Jebuseo en las montañas, y al Heveo debajo de Hermón en tierra de Mizpa.
4Estos salieron, y con ellos todos sus ejércitos, pueblo mucho en gran manera, como la arena que está á la orilla del mar, con gran muchedumbre de caballos y carros.
5Todos estos reyes se juntaron, y viniendo reunieron los campos junto á las aguas de Merom, para pelear contra Israel.
6Mas Jehová dijo á Josué: No tengas temor de ellos, que mañana á esta hora yo entregaré á todos éstos, muertos delante de Israel: á sus caballos desjarretarás, y sus carros quemarás al fuego.
7Y vino Josué, y con él todo el pueblo de guerra, contra ellos, y dió de repente sobre ellos junto á las aguas de Merom.
8Y entrególos Jehová en manos de Israel, los cuales los hirieron y siguieron hasta Sidón la grande, y hasta las aguas calientes, y hasta el llano de Mizpa al oriente, hiriéndolos hasta que no les dejaron ninguno.
9Y Josué hizo con ellos como Jehová le había mandado: desjarretó sus caballos, y sus carros quemó al fuego.
10Y tornándose Josué, tomó en el mismo tiempo á Hasor, é hirió á cuchillo á su rey: la cual Hasor había sido antes cabeza de todos estos reinos.
11E hirieron á cuchillo todo cuanto en ella había vivo, destruyendo y no dejando cosa con vida; y á Asor pusieron á fuego.
12Asimismo tomó Josué todas las ciudades de aquestos reyes, y á todos los reyes de ellas, y los metió á cuchillo, y los destruyó, como Moisés siervo de Jehová lo había mandado.
13Empero todas las ciudades que estaban en sus cabezos, no las quemó Israel, sacando á sola Asor, la cual quemó Josué.
14Y los hijos de Israel tomaron para sí todos los despojos y bestias de aquestas ciudades: pero á todos los hombres metieron á cuchillo hasta destruirlos, sin dejar alguno con vida.
15De la manera que Jehová lo había mandado á Moisés su siervo, así Moisés lo mandó á Josué: y así Josué lo hizo, sin quitar palabra de todo lo que Jehová había mandado á Moisés.
16Tomó pues Josué toda aquella tierra, las montañas, y toda la región del mediodía, y toda la tierra de Gosén, y los bajos y los llanos, y la montaña de Israel y sus valles.
17Desde el monte de Halac, que sube hasta Seir, hasta Baal-gad en la llanura del Líbano, á las raíces del monte Hermón: tomó asimismo todos sus reyes, los cuales hirió y mató.
18Por muchos días tuvo guerra Josué con estos reyes.
19No hubo ciudad que hiciese paz con los hijos de Israel, sacados los Heveos, que moraban en Gabaón: todo lo tomaron por guerra.
20Porque esto vino de Jehová, que endurecía el corazón de ellos para que resistiesen con guerra á Israel, para destruirlos, y que no les fuese hecha misericordia, antes fuesen desarraigados, como Jehová lo había mandado á Moisés.
21También en el mismo tiempo vino Josué y destruyó los Anaceos de los montes, de Hebrón, de Debir, y de Anab, y de todos los montes de Judá, y de todos los montes de Israel: Josué los destruyó á ellos y á sus ciudades.
22Ninguno de los Anaceos quedó en la tierra de los hijos de Israel; solamente quedaron en Gaza, en Gath, y en Asdod.
23Tomó, pues, Josué toda la tierra, conforme á todo lo que Jehová había dicho á Moisés; y entrególa Josué á los Israelitas por herencia, conforme á sus repartimientos de sus tribus: y la tierra reposó de guerra.

1And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
2And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
3And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
4And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.
5And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
6And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
7So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.
8And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.
9And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.
10And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
11And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
12And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
13But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.
14And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
15As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
16So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
17Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
18Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
19There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.
20For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
21And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
22There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
23So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

1When Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,
2and to the kings who were on the north, in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,
3to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
4They went out, they and all their armies with them, many people, even as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.
5All these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
6The LORD said to Joshua, “Don’t be afraid because of them; for tomorrow at this time, I will deliver them up all slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”
7So Joshua came suddenly, with all the warriors, against them by the waters of Merom, and attacked them.
8The LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpah eastward. They struck them until they left them no one remaining.
9Joshua did to them as the LORD told him. He hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
10Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor used to be the head of all those kingdoms.
11They struck all the souls who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was no one left who breathed. He burned Hazor with fire.
12Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

16So Joshua captured all that land, the hill country, all the South, all the land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel, and the lowland of the same,
