Moisés ya había entregado las tierras a las dos tribus y media que estaban al oriente del Jordán. La tribu de José se había dividido en dos: Manasés y Efraín. Los levitas no recibieron tierras, salvo las ciudades en que vivirían y las tierras de pastoreo que las rodeaban para el uso de sus rebaños.
Porque á las dos tribus, y á la media tribu, les había Moisés dado heredad de la otra parte del Jordán: mas á los Levitas no dió heredad entre ellos.
For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.
