Josué 15

Ahora, pues, la porción que tocó por suerte a los hijos de Judá, según sus familias, fue esta: desde donde termina la Idumea, el desierto de Tsin, hacia el mediodía, y hasta la extremidad del lado meridional.

Y FUÉ la suerte de la tribu de los hijos de Judá, por sus familias, junto al término de Edom, del desierto de Zin al mediodía, al lado del sur.

This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

The lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.

Su principio es desde la punta del mar Salado, y desde la lengua de éste que mira al mediodía,

Y su término de la parte del mediodía fué desde la costa del mar Salado, desde la lengua que mira hacia el mediodía;

And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

y se extiende hacia la subida del Escorpión, y pasa hasta el Sina o Tsin: de allí sube a Cadesbarne, y llega a Esrón, avanzándose hacia Addar, y dando vuelta a Carcaa;

Y salía hacia el mediodía á la subida de Acrabim, pasando hasta Zin; y subiendo por el mediodía hasta Cades-barnea, pasaba á Hebrón, y subiendo por Addar daba vuelta á Carca;

And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

and it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh Barnea, and passed along by Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned toward Karka;

y de allí pasando hacia Asemona, llega hasta el torrente de Egipto, y termina en el mar grande. Estos son los límites del territorio de Judá por el lado del mediodía.

De allí pasaba á Azmón, y salía al arroyo de Egipto; y sale este término al occidente. Este pues os será el término del mediodía.

From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

and it passed along to Azmon, went out at the brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your south border.

Por la parte oriental el principio será al mar Salado o Muerto hasta la extremidad del Jordán; por la del norte desde la lengua que forma el mismo mar hasta las corrientes de dicho río,

El término del oriente es el mar Salado hasta el fin del Jordán. Y el término de la parte del norte, desde la lengua del mar, desde el fin del Jordán:

And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

y tocan sus confines en Bet-Hagla, y pasando por el norte a Bet-Aaraba, suben hasta la piedra de Boén, hijo de Rubén.

Y sube este término por Beth-hogla, y pasa del norte á Beth-araba, y de aquí sube este término á la piedra de Bohán, hijo de Rubén.

And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

Y siguen caminando hasta los confines de Débera en el valle de Acor, mirando hacia el norte contra Gálgala, la cual está enfrente de la subida de Adommim por la parte austral del torrente, y pasan dichos límites de Judá las aguas llamadas Fuente del Sol, y vienen a salir a la Fuente de Rogel.

Y torna á subir este término á Debir desde el valle de Achôr: y al norte mira sobre Gilgal, que está delante de la subida de Adumin, la cual está al mediodía del arroyo: y pasa este término á las aguas de En-semes, y sale á la fuente de Rogel:

And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:

De aquí suben por el valle del hijo de Ennom, arrimándose al lado meridional de los jebuseos, donde está la ciudad de Jerusalén , subiendo de allí hasta la cumbre del monte Moria, que está enfrente de Geennom, al occidente, en la extremidad del valle de Rafaim o de los gigantes, hacia el norte,

Y sube este término por el valle del hijo de Hinnom al lado del Jebuseo al mediodía: esta es Jerusalem. Luego sube este término por la cumbre del monte que está delante del valle de Hinnom hacia el occidente, el cual está al cabo del valle de los gigantes al norte:

And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

The border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite (also called Jerusalem) southward; and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the farthest part of the valley of Rephaim northward.

bajando de la cima del monte hasta la fuente de Neftoa, y llegan hasta las aldeas del monte Efrón; y descienden hacia Baala, que es Cariatiarim, esto es, ciudad de los bosques;

Y rodea este término desde la cumbre del monte hasta la fuente de las aguas de Nephtoa, y sale á la ciudades del monte de Ephrón, rodeando luego el mismo término á Baala, la cual es Chîriath-jearim.

And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:

y desde Baala van rodeando hacia el occidente hasta el monte Seir, y por el norte se arriman al lado del monte Jarim hacia Queslón, de donde descienden a Betsamés, y pasan hasta Tamna;

Después torna este término desde Baala hacia el occidente al monte de Seir: y pasa al lado del monte de Jearim hacia el norte, esta es Chesalón, y desciende á Beth-semes, y pasa á Timna.

And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

and the border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and passed along to the side of Mount Jearim (also called Chesalon) on the north, and went down to Beth Shemesh, and passed along by Timnah;

llegan hasta el lado septentrional de Accarón, se inclinan hacia Secrona, y pasan el monte Baala, y arribando a Jebnel, quedan cerrados por el occidente en el mar Mediterráneo.

Sale luego este término al lado de Ecrón hacia el norte; y rodea el mismo término á Sichêron, y pasa por el monte de Baala, y sale á Jabneel: y sale este término á la mar.

And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

Estos son por todos lados los términos de los hijos de Juelá, según sus familias.

El término del occidente es la mar grande. Este pues, es el término de los hijos de Judá en derredor, por sus familias.

And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

Mas a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, dio Josué en posesión particular en medio de los hijos de Judá, como le había mandado el Señor, la ciudad de Cariat-Arbe, padre de Enac, la misma que Hebrón.

Mas á Caleb, hijo de Jephone, dió parte entre los hijos de Judá, conforme al mandamiento de Jehová á Josué: esto es, á Chîriath-arba, del padre de Anac, que es Hebrón.

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak (also called Hebron).

Y Caleb exterminó de ella a tres hijos de Enac, Sesai, Ahimán y Tolmai, que habían quedado de la raza de Enac.

Y avanzando desde allí, llegó a los habitantes de Dabir, que antes de llamaba Cariat-Sefer, esto es, ciudad de las letras.

De aquí subió á los que moraban en Debir: y el nombre de Debir era antes Chîriath-sepher.

And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.

Aquí dijo Caleb: A quien asaltare a Cariat-Sefer, y se apoderare de ella, yo le daré por mujer a mi hija Axa.

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

Y la tomó Otoniel, hijo de Cenez, hermano menor de Caleb; y le dio éste por mujer a su hija Axa.

A la cual caminando juntos, aconsejó el marido que pidiera a su padre una heredad. Axa pues, yendo sentada en su asno, dio un suspiro, y Caleb le dijo: ¿Qué tienes?

And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

When she came, she had him ask her father for a field. She got off her donkey, and Caleb said, “What do you want?”

A lo que respondió ella: Dame tu bendición, y concédeme una gracia. Me has dado una tierra de secano hacia el mediodía; agrégame otra de regadío. Y Caleb le dio otra heredad, colina y vega, todo regadío.

Y ella respondió: Dame bendición: pues que me has dado tierra de secadal, dame también fuentes de aguas. El entonces le dió las fuentes de arriba, y las de abajo.

Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

She said, “Give me a blessing. Because you have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.

Esta es la posesión de la tribu de Judá, según sus familias.

Azoto con sus villas y cortijos. Gaza con sus villas y alquerías hasta el torrente de Egipto, y el mar grande o Mediterráneo es su término.

Mas á los Jebuseos que habitaban en Jerusalem, los hijos de Judá no los pudieron desarraigar; antes quedó el Jebuseo en Jerusalem con los hijos de Judá, hasta hoy.

As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
