Sie trieben aber die Kanaaniter, die in Geser wohnten, nicht aus; und der Kanaaniter wohnt mitten unter Ephraim bis auf diesen Tag und wurde zum zinsbaren Knechte.

Y no echaron al Cananeo que habitaba en Gezer; antes quedó el Cananeo en medio de Ephraim, hasta hoy, y fué tributario.

And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.

They didn’t drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell in the territory of Ephraim to this day, and have become servants to do forced labor.
