Josué 24

Josué réunit toutes les tribus d’Israël à Sichem; puis il appela les anciens d’Israël, ses chefs, ses juges et ses préposés, qui se placèrent en présence de Dieu.

Y JUNTANDO Josué todas las tribus de Israel en Sichêm, llamó á los ancianos de Israel, y á sus príncipes, á sus jueces, y á sus oficiales; y presentáronse delante de Dios.

Puis se leva Balak, fis de Cippor, roi de Moab, qui entra en lutte avec Israël, et fit appeler Balaam, fils de Beor, pour vous maudire.

Je vous ai aussi fait précéder par les frelons, qui ont chassé de devant vous les deux rois des Amorréens, ce que tu ne dois ni à ton épée ni à ton arc.

And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.

A votre tour, révérez et servez l’Eternel avec droiture, avec sincérité; repoussez les dieux que vos pères ont adorés au-delà du Fleuve et en Egypte, et n’adorez que l’Eternel.

Ahora pues, temed á Jehová, y servidle con integridad y en verdad; y quitad de en medio los dioses á los cuales sirvieron vuestros padres de esotra parte del río, y en Egipto; y servid á Jehová.

Y si mal os parece servir á Jehová, escogeos hoy á quién sirváis; si á los dioses á quienes sirvieron vuestros padres, cuando estuvieron de esotra parte del río, ó á los dioses de los Amorrheos en cuya tierra habitáis: que yo y mi casa serviremos á Jehová.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Le peuple répondit: "Loin de nous la pensée de renoncer à l’Eternel pour servir des dieux étrangers!

Entonces el pueblo respondió, y dijo: Nunca tal acontezca, que dejemos á Jehová por servir á otros dioses:

C’est l’Eternel qui est notre Dieu, c'est lui qui nous a fait monter nous et nos pères, du pays d'Egypte, cette maison d'esclaves; qui a fait à nos yeux tant de grands miracles, qui nous a protégés constamment dans notre voie, parmi tous les peuples au milieu desquels nous avons passé.

Porque Jehová nuestro Dios es el que nos sacó á nosotros y á nuestros padres de la tierra de Egipto, de la casa de servidumbre; el cual delante de nuestros ojos ha hecho estas grandes señales, y nos ha guardado por todo el camino por donde hemos andado, y en todos los pueblos por entre los cuales pasamos.

For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:

C'est l'Eternel qui a repoussé devant nous l'Amorréen et les autres peuples habitant la contrée: nous aussi nous entendons servir l'Eternel, car c'est lui notre Dieu."

Et Josué dit au peuple: "Vous ne pourrez pas aisément servir l'Eternel; car c'est un Dieu saint, un Dieu jaloux, qui ne supporterait ni vos offenses ni vos péchés.

Entonces Josué dijo al pueblo: No podréis servir á Jehová, porque él es Dios santo, y Dios celoso; no sufrirá vuestras rebeliones y vuestros pecados.

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

Si vous abandonnez l'Eternel pour servir les dieux de l'étranger, à son tour il vous maltraitera et consommera votre ruine, après avoir été votre bienfaiteur."

Et le peuple répondit à Josué: "Non, nous voulons servir l'Eternel."

El pueblo entonces dijo á Josué: No, antes á Jehová serviremos.

And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.

Alors Josué dit au peuple: "Vous êtes témoins contre vous-mêmes, que c'est pour le culte de l'Eternel que vous avez opté!" Ils répondirent: "Nous le sommes."

Y Josué respondió al pueblo: Vosotros sois testigos contra vosotros mismos, de que os habéis elegido á Jehová para servirle. Y ellos respondieron: Testigos somos.

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

"Eh bien! Répudiez donc les dieux de l'étranger qui sont au milieu de vous, et tournez uniquement vos coeurs vers l'Eternel, Dieu d'Israël."

Quitad, pues, ahora los dioses ajenos que están entre vosotros, é inclinad vuestro corazón á Jehová Dios de Israel.

Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.

Et le peuple dit à Josué: "C'est l'Eternel, notre Dieu, que nous servirons, c'est à sa voix que nous voulons obéir."

Y el pueblo respondió á Josué: A Jehová nuestro Dios serviremos, y á su voz obedeceremos.

And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

En ce jour même, Josué établit un pacte avec le peuple, et lui imposa une loi et des statuts à Sichem.

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

Et Josué congédia le peuple, chacun rentrant dans son territoire.
