Josué 2

Or Giosuè, figliuolo di Nun, mandò segretamente da Sittim due spie, dicendo: “Andate, esaminate il paese e Gerico”. E quelle andarono ed entrarono in casa di una meretrice per nome Rahab, e quivi alloggiarono.

Y JOSUÉ, hijo de Nun, envió desde Sittim dos espías secretamente, diciéndoles: Andad, reconoced la tierra, y á Jericó. Los cuales fueron, y entráronse en casa de una mujer ramera que se llamaba Rahab, y posaron allí.

And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

Joshua the son of Nun secretly sent two men out of Shittim as spies, saying, “Go, view the land, including Jericho.” They went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab, and slept there.

La cosa fu riferita al re di Gerico, e gli fu detto: “Ecco, certi uomini di tra i figliuoli d’Israele son venuti qui stanotte per esplorare il paese”.

Y fué dado aviso al rey de Jericó, diciendo: He aquí que hombres de los hijos de Israel han venido aquí esta noche á espiar la tierra.

And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country.

The king of Jericho was told, “Behold, men of the children of Israel came in here tonight to spy out the land.”

Allora il re di Gerico mandò a dire a Rahab: “Fa’ uscire quegli uomini che son venuti da te e sono entrati in casa tua; perché son venuti a esplorare tutto il paese”.

Entonces el rey de Jericó envió á decir á Rahab: Saca fuera los hombres que han venido á ti, y han entrado en tu casa; porque han venido á espiar toda la tierra.

And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.

Jericho’s king sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered into your house; for they have come to spy out all the land.”

Ma la donna prese que’ due uomini, li nascose, e disse: “E’ vero, quegli uomini son venuti in casa mia, ma io non sapevo donde fossero;

Mas la mujer había tomado los dos hombres, y los había escondido; y dijo: Verdad que hombres vinieron á mí, mas no supe de dónde eran:

And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:

The woman took the two men and hid them. Then she said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I didn’t know where they came from.

e quando si stava per chiuder la porta sul far della notte, quegli uomini sono usciti; dove siano andati non so; rincorreteli senza perder tempo, e li raggiungerete”.

Y al cerrarse la puerta, siendo ya oscuro, esos hombres se salieron, y no sé á dónde se han ido: seguidlos apriesa, que los alcanzaréis.

And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.

About the time of the shutting of the gate, when it was dark, the men went out. Where the men went, I don’t know. Pursue them quickly. You may catch up with them.”

Or essa li avea fatti salire sul tetto, e li avea nascosti sotto del lino non ancora gramolato, che avea disteso sul tetto.

Mas ella los había hecho subir al terrado, y habíalos escondido entre tascos de lino que en aquel terrado tenía puestos.

But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.

But she had brought them up to the roof, and hidden them under the stalks of flax which she had laid in order on the roof.

E la gente li rincorse per la via che mena ai guadi del Giordano; e non appena quelli che li rincorrevano furono usciti, la porta fu chiusa.

Y los hombres fueron tras ellos por el camino del Jordán, hasta los vados: y la puerta fué cerrada después que salieron los que tras ellos iban.

And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.

The men pursued them along the way to the fords of the Jordan River. As soon as those who pursued them had gone out, they shut the gate.

Or prima che le spie s’addormentassero, Rahab salì da loro sul tetto,

Mas antes que ellos durmiesen, ella subió á ellos al terrado, y díjoles:

And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;

Before they had lain down, she came up to them on the roof.

e disse a quegli uomini: “Io so che l’Eterno vi ha dato il paese, che il terrore del vostro nome ci ha invasi, e che tutti gli abitanti del paese hanno perso coraggio davanti a voi.

Sé que Jehová os ha dado esta tierra; porque el temor de vosotros ha caído sobre nosotros, y todos los moradores del país están desmayados por causa de vosotros;

And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.

She said to the men, “I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you.

Poiché noi abbiamo udito come l’Eterno asciugò le acque del mar Rosso d’innanzi a voi quando usciste dall’Egitto, e quel che faceste ai due re degli Amorei, di là dal Giordano, Sihon e Og, che votaste allo sterminio.

Porque hemos oído que Jehová hizo secar las aguas del mar Bermejo delante de vosotros, cuando salisteis de Egipto, y lo que habéis hecho á los dos reyes de los Amorrheos que estaban de la parte allá del Jordán, á Sehón y á Og, á los cuales habéis destruído.

For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red Sea before you, when you came out of Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and to Og, whom you utterly destroyed.

E non appena l’abbiamo udito, il nostro cuore si è strutto e non è più rimasto coraggio in alcuno, per via di voi; poiché l’Eterno, il vostro Dio, e Dio lassù nei cieli e quaggiù sulla terra.

Oyendo esto, ha desmayado nuestro corazón; ni ha quedado más espíritu en alguno por causa de vosotros: porque Jehová vuestro Dios es Dios arriba en los cielos y abajo en la tierra.

And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.

As soon as we had heard it, our hearts melted, and there wasn’t any more spirit in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and on earth beneath.

Or dunque, vi prego, giuratemi per l’Eterno, giacché vi ho trattati con bontà, che anche voi tratterete con bontà la casa di mio padre;

Ruégoos pues ahora, me juréis por Jehová, que como he hecho misericordia con vosotros, así la haréis vosotros con la casa de mi padre, de lo cual me daréis una señal cierta;

Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father’s house, and give me a true token:

Now therefore, please swear to me by the LORD, since I have dealt kindly with you, that you also will deal kindly with my father’s house, and give me a true sign;

e datemi un pegno sicuro che salverete la vita a mio padre, a mia madre, ai miei fratelli, alle mie sorelle e a tutti i loro, e che ci preserverete dalla morte”.

Y que salvaréis la vida á mi padre y á mi madre, y á mis hermanos y hermanas, y á todo lo que es suyo; y que libraréis nuestras vidas de la muerte.

And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.

and that you will save alive my father, my mother, my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and will deliver our lives from death.”

E quegli uomini risposero: “Siamo pronti a dare la nostra vita per voi, se non divulgate questo nostro affare; e quando l’Eterno ci avrà dato il paese, noi ti tratteremo con bontà e lealtà”.

Y ellos le respondieron: Nuestra alma por vosotros hasta la muerte, si no denunciareis este nuestro negocio: y cuando Jehová nos hubiere dado la tierra, nosotros haremos contigo misericordia y verdad.

And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

The men said to her, “Our life for yours, if you don’t talk about this business of ours; and it shall be, when the LORD gives us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.”

Allora ella li calò giù dalla finestra con una fune; poiché la sua abitazione era addossata alle mura della città, ed ella stava di casa sulle mura.

Entonces ella los hizo descender con una cuerda por la ventana; porque su casa estaba á la pared del muro, y ella vivía en el muro.

Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.

Then she let them down by a cord through the window; for her house was on the side of the wall, and she lived on the wall.

E disse loro: “Andate verso il monte, affinché quelli che vi rincorrono non v’incontrino; e nascondetevi quivi per tre giorni, fino al ritorno di coloro che v’inseguono; poi ve n’andrete per la vostra strada”.

Y díjoles: Marchaos al monte, porque los que fueron tras vosotros no os encuentren; y estad escondidos allí tres días, hasta que los que os siguen hayan vuelto; y después os iréis vuestro camino.

And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.

She said to them, “Go to the mountain, lest the pursuers find you. Hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers have returned. Afterward, you may go your way.”

E quegli uomini le dissero: “Noi saremo sciolti dal giuramento che ci hai fatto fare, se tu non osservi quello che stiamo per dirti:

Y ellos le dijeron: Nosotros seremos desobligados de este juramento con que nos has conjurado.

And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.

The men said to her, “We will be guiltless of this your oath which you’ve made us to swear.

Ecco, quando entreremo nel paese, attaccherai alla finestra per la quale ci fai scendere, questa cordicella di filo scarlatto; e radunerai presso di te, in casa, tuo padre, tua madre, i tuoi fratelli e tutta la famiglia di tuo padre.

He aquí, cuando nosotros entráremos en la tierra, tú atarás este cordón de grana á la ventana por la cual nos descolgaste: y tú juntarás en tu casa tu padre y tu madre, tus hermanos y toda la familia de tu padre.

Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto thee.

Behold, when we come into the land, tie this line of scarlet thread in the window which you used to let us down. Gather to yourself into the house your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household.

E se alcuno di questi uscirà in istrada dalla porta di casa tua, il suo sangue ricadrà sul suo capo, e noi non ne avrem colpa; ma il sangue di chiunque sarà teco in casa ricadrà sul nostro capo, se uno gli metterà le mani addosso.

Cualquiera que saliere fuera de las puertas de tu casa, su sangre será sobre su cabeza, y nosotros sin culpa. Mas cualquiera que se estuviere en casa contigo, su sangre será sobre nuestra cabeza, si mano le tocare.

And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.

It shall be that whoever goes out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood will be on his head, and we will be guiltless. Whoever is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand is on him.

E se tu divulghi questo nostro affare, saremo sciolti dal giuramento che ci hai fatto fare”.

Y si tú denunciares este nuestro negocio, nosotros seremos desobligados de este tu juramento con que nos has juramentado.

And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.

But if you talk about this business of ours, then we shall be guiltless of your oath which you’ve made us to swear.”

Ed ella disse: “Sia come dite!” Poi li accomiatò, e quelli se ne andarono. Ed essa attaccò la cordicella scarlatta alla finestra.

Y ella respondió: Sea así como habéis dicho. Luego los despidió, y se fueron: y ella ató el cordón de grana á la ventana.

And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.

She said, “Let it be as you have said.” She sent them away, and they departed. Then she tied the scarlet line in the window.

Quelli dunque partirono e se ne andarono al monte, dove rimasero tre giorni, fino al ritorno di quelli che li rincorrevano; i quali li cercarono per tutta la strada, ma non li trovarono.

Y caminando ellos, llegaron al monte, y estuvieron allí tres días, hasta que los que los seguían se hubiesen vuelto: y los que los siguieron, buscaron por todo el camino, mas no los hallaron.

And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.

They went and came to the mountain, and stayed there three days, until the pursuers had returned. The pursuers sought them all along the way, but didn’t find them.

E quei due uomini ritornarono, scesero dal monte, passarono il Giordano, vennero a Giosuè, figliuolo di Nun, e gli raccontarono tutto quello ch’era loro successo.

Y tornándose los dos varones, descendieron del monte, y pasaron, y vinieron á Josué hijo de Nun, y contáronle todas las cosas que les habían acontecido.

So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them:

Then the two men returned, descended from the mountain, crossed the river, and came to Joshua the son of Nun. They told him all that had happened to them.

E dissero a Giosuè: “Certo, l’Eterno ha dato in nostra mano tutto il paese; e già tutti gli abitanti del paese han perso coraggio dinanzi a noi”.

Y dijeron á Josué: Jehová ha entregado toda la tierra en nuestras manos; y también todos los moradores del país están desmayados delante de nosotros.

And they said unto Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

They said to Joshua, “Truly the LORD has delivered all the land into our hands. Moreover, all the inhabitants of the land melt away before us.”
