Luego que acabaron de pasar, dijo el Señor a Josué:
Y CUANDO toda la gente hubo acabado de pasar el Jordán, Jehová habló á Josué, diciendo:
And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over Jordan, that the LORD spake unto Joshua, saying,
When all the nation had completely crossed over the Jordan, the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying,
Escoge doce varones, uno de cada tribu;
Tomad del pueblo doce hombres, de cada tribu uno,
Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,
“Take twelve men out of the people, a man out of every tribe,
y mándales que tomen del medio del Jordán, donde estuvieron parados los sacerdotes, doce piedras solidísimas que colocaréis en el lugar del campamento, en que plantaréis esta noche las tiendas.
Y mandadles, diciendo: Tomaos de aquí del medio del Jordán, del lugar donde están firmes los pies de los sacerdotes, doce piedras, las cuales pasaréis con vosotros, y las asentaréis en el alojamiento donde habéis de tener la noche.
And command ye them, saying, Take you hence out of the midst of Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, and ye shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where ye shall lodge this night.
and command them, saying, ‘Take from out of the middle of the Jordan, out of the place where the priests’ feet stood firm, twelve stones, carry them over with you, and lay them down in the place where you’ll camp tonight.’”
Llamó, pues, Josué a los doce varones que había elegido de entre los hijos de Israel, uno de cada tribu,

Y díjoles Josué: Pasad delante del arca de Jehová vuestro Dios al medio del Jordán; y cada uno de vosotros tome una piedra sobre su hombro, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel;
And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan, and take ye up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:
Joshua said to them, “Cross before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you pick up a stone and put it on your shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel;
para que sirvan de monumento entre vosotros; y cuando el día de mañana os preguntaren vuestros hijos, diciendo: ¿Qué significan esas piedras?
Para que esto sea señal entre vosotros; y cuando vuestros hijos preguntaren á sus padres mañana, diciendo: ¿Qué os significan estas piedras?
That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?
that this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask in the future, saying, ‘What do you mean by these stones?’
les habéis de responder: Desaparecieron las aguas del Jordán a vista del Arca del Testamento del Señor, cuando iba ella pasándolo; por esto se pusieron esas piedras para eterno monumento de los hijos de Israel.
Les responderéis: Que las aguas del Jordán fueron partidas delante del arca del pacto de Jehová; cuando ella pasó el Jordán, las aguas del Jordán se partieron: y estas piedras serán por memoria á los hijos de Israel para siempre.
Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
then you shall tell them, ‘Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the LORD’s covenant. When it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.’”
Hicieron, pues, los hijos de Israel lo que les ordenó Josué, trayendo del medio de la madre del Jordán doce piedras, como el Señor le había mandado a Josué, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, hasta el sitio en que acamparon, y las colocaron allí.
Y los hijos de Israel lo hicieron así como Josué les mandó: que levantaron doce piedras del medio del Jordán, como Jehová lo había dicho á Josué, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, y pasáronlas consigo al alojamiento, y las asentaron allí.

Entre tanto los sacerdotes, que llevaban el Arca , estaban pasados en medio del Jordán, mientras que se ejecutaban todas las cosas que el Señor había mandado a Josué que comunicara al pueblo, y que le había dicho Moisés. Y el pueblo se dio prisa a pasar el río.
Y los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca se pararon en medio del Jordán, hasta tanto que se acabó todo lo que Jehová había mandado á Josué que hablase al pueblo, conforme á todas las cosas que Moisés había á Josué mandado: y el pueblo se dió priesa y pasó.
For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until every thing was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.

Pasado que hubieron todos, pasó también el Arca del Señor, y los sacerdotes marchaban con ella delante del pueblo.

And it came to pass, when all the people were clean passed over, that the ark of the LORD passed over, and the priests, in the presence of the people.

Así mismo los hijos de Rubén y de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés iban armados a la frente de los hijos de Israel, como les había mandado Moisés.

Y estos combatientes, en número de cuarenta mil, iban delante, ordenados en filas y columnas, por las llanuras y campos de la ciudad de Jericó .
Como cuarenta mil hombres armados á punto pasaron hacia la campiña de Jericó delante de Jehová á la guerra.

En aquel día engrandeció el Señor a Josué delante de todo Israel, para que lo temiesen o respetasen, como habían temido a Moisés mientras vivió.

Josué se lo mandó, diciendo: Salid del Jordán.
Y Josué mandó á los sacerdotes, diciendo: Subid del Jordán.

Y luego que salieron llevando el Arca del Testamento, y comenzaron a pisar la ribera, volvieron las aguas a su madre, y corrieron como solían antes.
Y aconteció que como los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, subieron del medio del Jordán, y las plantas de los pies de los sacerdotes estuvieron en seco, las aguas del Jordán se volvieron á su lugar, corriendo como antes sobre todos sus bordes.
And it came to pass, when the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the midst of Jordan, and the soles of the priests’ feet were lifted up unto the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned unto their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.

Salió el pueblo del Jordán el día diez del mes primero, y sentó el campamento en Gálgala, que cae al Oriente de la ciudad de Jericó .

Los instruiréis y diréis que a pie enjuto pasó Israel ese Jordán,
Declararéis á vuestros hijos, diciendo: Israel pasó en seco por este Jordán.

secando el Señor Dios vuestro sus aguas a vuestra vista, hasta que hubisteis pasado; a la manera que primero lo había hecho en el mar Rojo, al cual secó hasta que nosotros pasamos;
Porque Jehová vuestro Dios secó las aguas del Jordán delante de vosotros, hasta que habíais pasado, á la manera que Jehová vuestro Dios lo había hecho en el mar Bermejo, al cual secó delante de nosotros hasta que pasamos:
For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:

para que reconozcan todos los pueblos de la tierra la mano todopoderosa del Señor, y vosotros asimismo temáis en todo tiempo al Señor Dios vuestro.
Para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan la mano de Jehová, que es fuerte; para que temáis á Jehová vuestro Dios todos los días.
That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
