Josué 9

A la nouvelle de ces événements, tous les rois qui étaient au delà du Jourdain, dans la montagne et dans le bas pays, et sur toute la côte de la grande mer, vis-à-vis du Liban, les Héthéens, les Amorrhéens, les Chananéens, les Phérézéens, les Hévéens et les Jébuséens

Y ACONTECIÓ que como oyeron estas cosas todos los reyes que estaban de esta parte del Jordán, así en las montañas como en los llanos, y en toda la costa de la gran mar delante del Líbano, los Hetheos, Amorrheos, Cananeos, Pherezeos, Heveos, y Jebuseos;

And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea over against Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof;

When all the kings who were beyond the Jordan, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and on all the shore of the great sea in front of Lebanon, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard of it

s'unirent ensemble pour combattre Josué et Israël d'un commun accord.

Juntáronse á una, de un acuerdo, para pelear contra Josué é Israel.

That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.

Les habitants de Gabaon, lorsqu'ils apprirent comment Josué avait traité Jéricho et Haï,

Mas los moradores de Gabaón, como oyeron lo que Josué había hecho á Jericó y á Hai,

eurent, de leur côté, recours à la ruse. Ils se mirent en route, avec des provisions de voyage. Ils avaient pris de vieux sacs sur leurs ânes et de vieilles outres à vin déchirées et recousues ;

Ellos usaron también de astucia; pues fueron y fingiéronse embajadores, y tomaron sacos viejos sobre sus asnos, y cueros viejos de vino, rotos y remendados,

They did work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;

they also resorted to a ruse, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks on their donkeys, and old, torn-up and bound up wineskins,

ils avaient à leurs pieds de vieilles sandales rapiécées, et sur eux de vieux vêtements ; tout le pain qu'ils portaient pour leur nourriture était desséché et en miettes.

Y zapatos viejos y recosidos en sus pies, con vestidos viejos sobre sí; y todo el pan que traían para el camino, seco y mohoso.

And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy.

and old and patched sandals on their feet, and wore old garments. All the bread of their food supply was dry and moldy.

Ils allèrent auprès de Josué, au camp de Galgala, et ils lui dirent, à lui et à tous les hommes d'Israël : « Nous venons d'un pays éloigné, et maintenant faites alliance avec nous. »

Así vinieron á Josué al campo en Gilgal, y dijéronle á él y á los de Israel: Nosotros venimos de tierra muy lejana: haced pues ahora con nosotros alianza.

And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us.

They went to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, and said to him and to the men of Israel, “We have come from a far country. Now therefore make a covenant with us.”

Les hommes d'Israël répondirent à ces Hévéens : « Peut-être que vous habitez au milieu de nous ; comment pourrions-nous faire alliance avec vous ? »

Y los de Israel respondieron á los Heveos: Quizás vosotros habitáis en medio de nosotros: ¿cómo pues podremos nosotros hacer alianza con vosotros?

And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?

The men of Israel said to the Hivites, “What if you live among us? How could we make a covenant with you?”

Il dirent à Josué : « Nous sommes tes serviteurs. » Josué leur dit : « Qui êtes-vous et d'où venez-vous ? »

Y ellos respondieron á Josué: Nosotros somos tus siervos. Y Josué les dijo: ¿Quién sois vosotros y de dónde venís?

And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye?

They said to Joshua, “We are your servants.” Joshua said to them, “Who are you? Where do you come from?”

Ils lui dirent : « Tes serviteurs viennent d'un pays très éloigné, à cause du nom de Yahweh, ton Dieu ; car nous avons entendu parler de lui, de tout ce qu'il a fait en Egypte,

Y ellos respondieron: Tus siervos han venido de muy lejanas tierras, por la fama de Jehová tu Dios; porque hemos oído su fama, y todas las cosas que hizo en Egipto,

And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the LORD thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,

They said to him, “Your servants have come from a very far country because of the name of the LORD your God; for we have heard of his fame, all that he did in Egypt,

et comment il a traité les deux rois des Amorrhéens au delà du Jourdain, Séhon, roi de Hésebon, et Og, roi de Basan, qui habitait à Astaroth.

Y todo lo que hizo á los dos reyes de los Amorrheos que estaban de la otra parte del Jordán; á Sehón rey de Hesbón, y á Og rey de Basán, que estaba en Astaroth.

And all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth.

and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon and to Og king of Bashan, who was at Ashtaroth.

Et nos anciens et tous les habitants de notre pays nous ont dit : Prenez avec vous des provisions pour le voyage, allez au-devant d'eux et dites-leur : Nous sommes vos serviteurs, et maintenant faites alliance avec nous.

Por lo cual nuestros ancianos y todos los moradores de nuestra tierra nos dijeron: Tomad en vuestras manos provisión para el camino, é id al encuentro de ellos, y decidles: Nosotros somos vuestros siervos, y haced ahora con nosotros alianza.

Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us.

Our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying, ‘Take supplies in your hand for the journey, and go to meet them. Tell them, “We are your servants. Now make a covenant with us.”’

Voici notre pain : il était chaud quand nous en avons fait provision dans nos maisons, le jour où nous sommes partis pour venir vers vous, et maintenant le voilà desséché et en miettes.

Este nuestro pan tomamos caliente de nuestras casas para el camino el día que salimos para venir á vosotros; y helo aquí ahora que está seco y mohoso:

This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy:

This our bread we took hot for our supplies out of our houses on the day we went out to go to you; but now, behold, it is dry, and has become moldy.

Ces outres à vin, que nous avons remplies toutes neuves, les voilà déchirées ; nos vêtements et nos sandales se sont usés par la grande longueur du voyage. »

Estos cueros de vino también los henchimos nuevos; helos aquí ya rotos: también estos nuestros vestidos y nuestros zapatos están ya viejos á causa de lo muy largo del camino.

And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.

These wineskins, which we filled, were new; and behold, they are torn. These our garments and our sandals have become old because of the very long journey.”

Les hommes d'Israël prirent de leurs provisions, sans consulter la bouche de Yahweh ;

Y los hombres de Israel tomaron de su provisión del camino, y no preguntaron á la boca de Jehová.

And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.

The men sampled their provisions, and didn’t ask counsel from the LORD’s mouth.

et Josué leur accorda la paix et conclut avec eux une alliance portant qu'on leur laisserait la vie ; et les princes de l'assemblée le leur jurèrent.

Y Josué hizo paz con ellos, y concertó con ellos que les dejaría la vida: también los príncipes de la congregación les juraron.

And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them, to let them live. The princes of the congregation swore to them.

Trois jours après la conclusion de l'alliance, les enfants d'Israël apprirent qu'ils étaient leurs voisins et qu'ils habitaient au milieu d'eux.

Pasados tres días después que hicieron con ellos el concierto, oyeron como eran sus vecinos, y que habitaban en medio de ellos.

And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them.

At the end of three days after they had made a covenant with them, they heard that they were their neighbors, and that they lived among them.

Les enfants d'Israël partirent donc, et arrivèrent à leurs villes le troisième jour ; leurs villes étaient Gabaon, Caphira, Béroth et Cariathiarim.

Y partiéronse los hijos de Israel, y al tercer día llegaron á sus ciudades: y sus ciudades eran Gabaón, Caphira, Beeroth, y Chiriath-jearim.

And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjath-jearim.

Ils ne les frappèrent point de l'épée, à cause du serment que les princes de l'assemblée leur avaient fait au nom de Yahweh, le Dieu d'Israël ; mais toute l'assemblée murmura contre les princes.

Y no los hirieron los hijos de Israel, por cuanto los príncipes de la congregación les habían jurado por Jehová el Dios de Israel. Y toda la congregación murmuraba contra los príncipes.

And the children of Israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes.

The children of Israel didn’t strike them, because the princes of the congregation had sworn to them by the LORD, the God of Israel. All the congregation murmured against the princes.

Tous les princes dirent alors à toute l'assemblée : « Nous leur avons fait un serment par Yahweh, le Dieu d'Israël ; et maintenant, nous ne pouvons les toucher.

Mas todos los príncipes respondieron á toda la congregación: Nosotros les hemos jurado por Jehová Dios de Israel; por tanto, ahora no les podemos tocar.

But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them.

But all the princes said to all the congregation, “We have sworn to them by the LORD, the God of Israel. Now therefore we may not touch them.

Voici comment nous les traiterons : nous leur laisserons la vie, pour ne pas attirer sur nous la colère de Yahweh, par suite du serment que nous leur avons fait.

Esto haremos con ellos: les dejaremos vivir, porque no venga ira sobre nosotros á causa del juramento que les hemos hecho.

This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.

We will do this to them, and let them live; lest wrath be on us, because of the oath which we swore to them.”

Qu'ils vivent donc, » leur disent les princes. Ils furent employés à couper le bois et à puiser l'eau pour toute l'assemblée, comme les princes le leur avaient dit.

Y los príncipes les dijeron: Vivan; mas sean leñadores y aguadores para toda la congregación, como los príncipes les han dicho.

And the princes said unto them, Let them live; but let them be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the princes had promised them.

The princes said to them, “Let them live.” So they became wood cutters and drawers of water for all the congregation, as the princes had spoken to them.

Josué fit appeler les Gabaonites et leur parla ainsi : « Pourquoi nous avez-vous trompés, en disant : Nous sommes très éloignés de vous, tandis que vous habitez au milieu de nous ?

Y llamándolos Josué, les habló diciendo: ¿Por qué nos habéis engañado, diciendo, Habitamos muy lejos de vosotros; una vez que moráis en medio de nosotros?

And Joshua called for them, and he spake unto them, saying, Wherefore have ye beguiled us, saying, We are very far from you; when ye dwell among us?

Joshua called for them, and he spoke to them, saying, “Why have you deceived us, saying, ‘We are very far from you,’ when you live among us?

Maintenant, vous êtes maudits et personne de vous ne manquera d'être esclave, coupant le bois et puisant l'eau pour la maison de mon Dieu. »

Vosotros pues ahora sois malditos, y no faltará de vosotros siervo, y quien corte la leña y saque el agua para la casa de mi Dios.

Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.

Now therefore you are cursed, and some of you will never fail to be slaves, both wood cutters and drawers of water for the house of my God.”

Ils répondirent à Josué en disant : « C'est qu'on avait rapporté à tes serviteurs l'ordre donné par Yahweh ton Dieu, à Moïse, son serviteur, de vous livrer tout le pays et d'exterminer tous les habitants du pays devant vous. Et nous avons éprouvé à votre approche une grande crainte pour nos vies ; c'est pourquoi nous avons agi de cette manière.

Y ellos respondieron á Josué, y dijeron: Como fué dado á entender á tus siervos, que Jehová tu Dios había mandado á Moisés su siervo que os había de dar toda la tierra, y que había de destruir todos los moradores de la tierra delante de vosotros, por esto temimos en gran manera de vosotros por nuestras vidas, é hicimos esto.

And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.

They answered Joshua, and said, “Because your servants were certainly told how the LORD your God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you. Therefore we were very afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.

Maintenant nous voici entre tes mains ; traite-nous comme il te semblera bon et juste de nous traiter. »

Ahora pues, henos aquí en tu mano: lo que te pareciere bueno y recto hacer de nosotros, hazlo.

And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.

Now, behold, we are in your hand. Do to us as it seems good and right to you to do.”

Josué agit à leur égard ainsi qu'il l'avait dit ; il les délivra de la main des enfants d'Israël, pour qu'ils ne les fissent pas mourir.

Y él lo hizo así; que los libró de la mano de los hijos de Israel, para que no los matasen.

And so did he unto them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, that they slew them not.

He did so to them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, so that they didn’t kill them.

Josué les destina dès ce jour à couper le bois et à puiser l'eau pour l'assemblée et pour l'autel de Yahweh, dans le lieu que Yahweh choisirait : ce qu'ils font encore aujourd'hui.

Y constituyólos Josué aquel día por leñadores y aguadores para la congregación y para el altar de Jehová, en el lugar que él escogiese: lo que son hasta hoy.

And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the LORD, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose.

That day Joshua made them wood cutters and drawers of water for the congregation and for the LORD’s altar to this day, in the place which he should choose.
