Und sie sprachen zu Joschua: Wir sind deine Knechte. Und Joschua sprach zu ihnen: Wer seid ihr, und von wannen kommt ihr?
Y ellos respondieron á Josué: Nosotros somos tus siervos. Y Josué les dijo: ¿Quién sois vosotros y de dónde venís?
And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye?
They said to Joshua, “We are your servants.” Joshua said to them, “Who are you? Where do you come from?”
Und sie sagten zu ihm: Aus einem sehr fernen Lande kommen deine Knechte wegen des Namens Jehovahs, deines Gottes; denn wir hörten Sein Gerücht, und alles, was Er in Ägypten hat getan;

And the princes said unto them, Let them live; but let them be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the princes had promised them.

Und Joschua rief sie und redete zu ihnen und sprach: Warum habt ihr uns betrogen und gesagt: Wir sind sehr ferne von euch, und ihr wohnet doch mitten unter uns?

Und nun seid ihr verflucht! Nicht sollen unter euch aufhören der Knecht und die Holz hauen und Wasser schöpfen für das Haus meines Gottes!
Vosotros pues ahora sois malditos, y no faltará de vosotros siervo, y quien corte la leña y saque el agua para la casa de mi Dios.
Now therefore ye are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.

Und sie antworteten Joschua und sprachen: Man hatte deinen Knechten angesagt, was Jehovah, dein Gott, dem Mose, Seinem Knechte, geboten hat, daß er euch das ganze Land gebe, und daß ihr alle Einwohner des Landes vor euch her vernichten sollet. Darum fürchteten wir sehr für unsere Seelen vor euch, so daß wir dieses taten.
Y ellos respondieron á Josué, y dijeron: Como fué dado á entender á tus siervos, que Jehová tu Dios había mandado á Moisés su siervo que os había de dar toda la tierra, y que había de destruir todos los moradores de la tierra delante de vosotros, por esto temimos en gran manera de vosotros por nuestras vidas, é hicimos esto.
And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
They answered Joshua, and said, “Because your servants were certainly told how the LORD your God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you. Therefore we were very afraid for our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
Und nun, siehe, wir sind in deiner Hand. Was gut und was recht ist in deinen Augen uns zu tun, das tue.
Ahora pues, henos aquí en tu mano: lo que te pareciere bueno y recto hacer de nosotros, hazlo.
And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.

Und er tat ihnen also und errettete sie aus der Hand der Söhne Israels, daß sie sie nicht erwürgeten.

Und Joschua machte sie selbigen Tages zu Holzhauern und Wasserschöpfern für die Gemeinde und für den Altar Jehovahs bis auf diesen Tag, an dem Ort, den Er erwählen würde.
Y constituyólos Josué aquel día por leñadores y aguadores para la congregación y para el altar de Jehová, en el lugar que él escogiese: lo que son hasta hoy.
And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the LORD, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose.
