GHIMEL. Il m`a entouré d`un mur pour que je ne puisse sortir, il m`a chargé de lourdes chaînes.
Cercóme por todos lados, y no puedo salir; agravó mis grillos.
He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
He has walled me about, so that I can’t go out. He has made my chain heavy.
Lors même que je crie et que j`implore du secours, il ferme tout accès à ma prière.
Aun cuando clamé y dí voces, cerro los oídos á mi oración.

DALETH. Il a été pour moi comme un ours aux aguets, comme un lion dans son embuscade;
Como oso que acecha fué para mí, como león en escondrijos.
He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.

Il m`a ôté toute issue et m`a mis en pièces; il m`a réduit à la dévastation;
Torció mis caminos, y depedazóme; tornóme asolado.

Il a bandé son arc et m`a placé comme but à ses flèches.
Su arco entesó, y púsome como blanco á la saeta.

HÉ. Il a fait pénétrer dans mes reins les fils de son carquois;
Hizo entrar en mis riñones las saetas de su aljaba.
He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.

Je suis la risée de tout mon peuple, leur chanson tout le jour;
Fuí escarnio á todo mi pueblo, canción de ellos todos los días.

Il m`a rassasié d`amertume, il m`a abreuvé d`absinthe.
Hartóme de amarguras, embriagóme de ajenjos.

Et je disais: Ma force est perdue, je n`ai plus d`espérance en Jéhovah!

ZAÏN. Souviens-toi de mon affliction et de ma souffrance, de l`absinthe et du fiel!
Acuérdate de mi aflicción y de mi abatimiento, del ajenjo y de la hiel.
Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

Mon âme s`en souvient sans cesse, et elle est abattue en moi.
Tendrálo aún en memoria mi alma, porque en mí está humillada.

HETH. C`est une grâce de Jéhovah que nous ne soyons pas anéantis, car tes miséricordes ne sont pas épuisées;
Es por la misericordia de Jehová que no somos consumidos, porque nunca decayeron sus misericordias.
It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

TETH. Jéhovah est bon pour qui espère en lui, pour l`âme qui le cherche.
Bueno es Jehová á los que en él esperan, al alma que le buscare.

Il est bon d`attendre en silence la .délivrance de Jéhovah;

JOD. Quand Dieu le lui impose, qu`il s`asseye à l`écart, en silence!
Sentaráse solo, y callará, porque lo llevó sobre sí.

CAPH. Car le Seigneur ne rejette pas à toujours;

Antes si afligiere, también se compadecerá según la multitud de sus misericordias.

Hacer apartar el derecho del hombre ante la presencia del Altísimo,

Quand on fait tort à quelqu`un dans sa cause, est-ce que le Seigneur ne le voit pas?
Trastornar al hombre en su causa, el Señor no lo sabe.
To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.

MEM. Qui a parlé, et la chose s`est faite, sans que le Seigneur l`ait commandé?
¿Quién será aquel que diga, que vino algo que el Señor no mandó?
Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord doesn’t command it?
N`est-ce pas de la bouche du Très-Haut que viennent les maux et les biens?
¿De la boca del Altísimo no saldrá malo y bueno?
Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
Doesn’t evil and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?
Pourquoi l`homme vivant se plaindrait-il? Que chacun se plaigne de son péché.
¿Por qué murmura el hombre viviente, el hombre en su pecado?
Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

NUN. Examinons nos voies et scrutons-les, et retournons à Jéhovah.
Escudriñemos nuestros caminos, y busquemos, y volvámonos á Jehová.

SAMECH. Tu t`es enveloppé dans ta colère, et tu nous a poursuivis; tu as tué sans épargner;

Tu t`es couvert d`une nuée, afin que la prière ne passe point;
Te cubriste de nube, porque no pasase la oración nuestra.

Tu as fait de nous des balayures et un rebut au milieu des peuples.
Raedura y abominación nos tornaste en medio de los pueblos.
Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
You have made us an off-scouring and refuse in the middle of the peoples.
PHÉ. Tous nos ennemis ouvrent la bouche contre nous.
Todos nuestros enemigos abrieron sobre nosotros su boca.
All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

La frayeur et la fosse ont été notre part, la dévastation et la ruine.
Temor y lazo fué para nosotros, asolamiento y quebrantamiento.
Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
Terror and the pit have come on us, devastation and destruction.”
Mon œil se fond en un ruisseau de larmes, à cause de la ruine de la fille de mon peuple.
Ríos de aguas echan mis ojos, por el quebrantamiento de la hija de mi pueblo.

Jusqu`à ce que Jéhovah regarde et voie du haut des cieux,

TSADÉ. Ceux qui sont mes ennemis sans cause m`ont donné la chasse comme a un passereau.
Mis enemigos me dieron caza como á ave, sin por qué.

Ils ont voulu anéantir ma vie dans la fosse, et ils ont jeté une pierre sur moi.
