Et nous, nos yeux se consumaient encore Après un vain secours ;Du haut de nos tours nous regardions attentivement Vers une nation qui ne délivrait point !

Aun nos han desfallecido nuestros ojos tras nuestro vano socorro: en nuestra esperanza aguardamos gente que no puede salvar.
