1El Señor le dijo a Moisés que le diera las siguientes instrucciones al pueblo de Israel:
2«Cuando nazca un niño, la madre quedará ritualmente impura por siete días, y quedará sujeta a las mismas restricciones a que se somete durante su menstruación.
3Al octavo día circuncidará a su hijo.
4Luego, durante los treinta y tres días siguientes, mientras se recupera de su impureza ritual, no debe tocar ninguna cosa sagrada, ni debe entrar en el santuario.
5»Cuando nazca una niña, la impureza ceremonial de la madre durará dos semanas, lapso en que quedará sujeta a las mismas restricciones del período menstrual. Su recuperación durará sesenta y seis días.
6»Cuando hayan pasado los días de su purificación, y esto se aplica tanto si su bebé es niño o niña, deberá presentar un cordero de un año como holocausto, y un pichón de paloma o una tórtola como ofrenda por su pecado. Debe llevarlos a la puerta del santuario y entregarlos al sacerdote.
7El sacerdote, entonces, los ofrecerá delante del Señor, y pedirá perdón por los pecados de ella. Después de esto, la mujer será declarada ritualmente pura de su flujo de sangre. Este es el procedimiento que debe seguir después del parto.
8»Pero si ella es muy pobre y no puede ofrecer un cordero, deberá llevar dos pichones de paloma o dos tórtolas. Uno será para el holocausto y el otro para la ofrenda por su pecado. El sacerdote, entonces, pedirá perdón por los pecados de ella, y la mujer quedará purificada».

1Y HABLÓ Jehová á Moisés, diciendo:
2Habla á los hijos de Israel, diciendo: La mujer cuando concibiere y pariere varón, será inmunda siete días; conforme á los días que está separada por su menstruo, será inmunda.
3Y al octavo día circuncidará la carne de su prepucio.
4Mas ella permanecerá treinta y tres días en la sangre de su purgación: ninguna cosa santa tocará, ni vendrá al santuario, hasta que sean cumplidos los días de su purgación.
5Y si pariere hembra será inmunda dos semanas, conforme á su separación, y sesenta y seis días estará purificándose de su sangre.
6Y cuando los días de su purgación fueren cumplidos, por hijo ó por hija, traerá un cordero de un año para holocausto, y un palomino ó una tórtola para expiación, á la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio, al sacerdote:
7Y él ofrecerá delante de Jehová, y hará expiación por ella, y será limpia del flujo de su sangre. Esta es la ley de la que pariere varón ó hembra.
8Y si no alcanzare su mano lo suficiente para un cordero, tomará entonces dos tórtolas ó dos palominos, uno para holocausto, y otro para expiación: y el sacerdote hará expiación por ella, y será limpia.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.
3And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
4And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.
5But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.
6And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:
7Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.
8And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2“Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘If a woman conceives, and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her monthly period she shall be unclean.
3In the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
4She shall continue in the blood of purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any holy thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying are completed.
5But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her period; and she shall continue in the blood of purification sixty-six days.
6“‘When the days of her purification are completed for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the door of the Tent of Meeting, a year old lamb for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove, for a sin offering.
7He shall offer it before the LORD, and make atonement for her; then she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. “‘This is the law for her who bears, whether a male or a female.
8If she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons: the one for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering. The priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.’”
