1L’Éternel parla à Moïse, après la mort des deux fils d’Aaron, qui moururent en se présentant devant l’Éternel.
2L’Éternel dit à Moïse: Parle à ton frère Aaron, afin qu’il n’entre pas en tout temps dans le sanctuaire, au dedans du voile, devant le propitiatoire qui est sur l’arche, de peur qu’il ne meure; car j’apparaîtrai dans la nuée sur le propitiatoire.
3Voici de quelle manière Aaron entrera dans le sanctuaire. Il prendra un jeune taureau pour le sacrifice d’expiation et un bélier pour l’holocauste.
4Il se revêtira de la tunique sacrée de lin, et portera sur son corps des caleçons de lin; il se ceindra d’une ceinture de lin, et il se couvrira la tête d’une tiare de lin: ce sont les vêtements sacrés, dont il se revêtira après avoir lavé son corps dans l’eau.
5Il recevra de l’assemblée des enfants d’Israël deux boucs pour le sacrifice d’expiation et un bélier pour l’holocauste.
6Aaron offrira son taureau expiatoire, et il fera l’expiation pour lui et pour sa maison.
7Il prendra les deux boucs, et il les placera devant l’Éternel, à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation.
8Aaron jettera le sort sur les deux boucs, un sort pour l’Éternel et un sort pour Azazel.
9Aaron fera approcher le bouc sur lequel est tombé le sort pour l’Éternel, et il l’offrira en sacrifice d’expiation.
10Et le bouc sur lequel est tombé le sort pour Azazel sera placé vivant devant l’Éternel, afin qu’il serve à faire l’expiation et qu’il soit lâché dans le désert pour Azazel.
11Aaron offrira son taureau expiatoire, et il fera l’expiation pour lui et pour sa maison. Il égorgera son taureau expiatoire.
12Il prendra un brasier plein de charbons ardents ôtés de dessus l’autel devant l’Éternel, et de deux poignées de parfum odoriférant en poudre; il portera ces choses au-delà du voile;
13il mettra le parfum sur le feu devant l’Éternel, afin que la nuée du parfum couvre le propitiatoire qui est sur le témoignage, et il ne mourra point.
14Il prendra du sang du taureau, et il fera l’aspersion avec son doigt sur le devant du propitiatoire vers l’orient; il fera avec son doigt sept fois l’aspersion du sang devant le propitiatoire.
15Il égorgera le bouc expiatoire pour le peuple, et il en portera le sang au-delà du voile. Il fera avec ce sang comme il a fait avec le sang du taureau, il en fera l’aspersion sur le propitiatoire et devant le propitiatoire.
16C’est ainsi qu’il fera l’expiation pour le sanctuaire à cause des impuretés des enfants d’Israël et de toutes les transgressions par lesquelles ils ont péché. Il fera de même pour la tente d’assignation, qui est avec eux au milieu de leurs impuretés.
17Il n’y aura personne dans la tente d’assignation lorsqu’il entrera pour faire l’expiation dans le sanctuaire, jusqu’à ce qu’il en sorte. Il fera l’expiation pour lui et pour sa maison, et pour toute l’assemblée d’Israël.
18En sortant, il ira vers l’autel qui est devant l’Éternel, et il fera l’expiation pour l’autel; il prendra du sang du taureau et du bouc, et il en mettra sur les cornes de l’autel tout autour.
19Il fera avec son doigt sept fois l’aspersion du sang sur l’autel; il le purifiera et le sanctifiera, à cause des impuretés des enfants d’Israël.
20Lorsqu’il aura achevé de faire l’expiation pour le sanctuaire, pour la tente d’assignation et pour l’autel, il fera approcher le bouc vivant.
21Aaron posera ses deux mains sur la tête du bouc vivant, et il confessera sur lui toutes les iniquités des enfants d’Israël et toutes les transgressions par lesquelles ils ont péché; il les mettra sur la tête du bouc, puis il le chassera dans le désert, à l’aide d’un homme qui aura cette charge.
22Le bouc emportera sur lui toutes leurs iniquités dans une terre désolée; il sera chassé dans le désert.
23Aaron entrera dans la tente d’assignation; il quittera les vêtements de lin qu’il avait mis en entrant dans le sanctuaire, et il les déposera là.
24Il lavera son corps avec de l’eau dans un lieu saint, et reprendra ses vêtements. Puis il sortira, offrira son holocauste et l’holocauste du peuple, et fera l’expiation pour lui et pour le peuple.
25Il brûlera sur l’autel la graisse de la victime expiatoire.
26Celui qui aura chassé le bouc pour Azazel lavera ses vêtements, et lavera son corps dans l’eau; après cela, il rentrera dans le camp.
27On emportera hors du camp le taureau expiatoire et le bouc expiatoire dont on a porté le sang dans le sanctuaire pour faire l’expiation, et l’on brûlera au feu leurs peaux, leur chair et leurs excréments.
28Celui qui les brûlera lavera ses vêtements, et lavera son corps dans l’eau; après cela, il rentrera dans le camp.
29C’est ici pour vous une loi perpétuelle: au septième mois, le dixième jour du mois, vous humilierez vos âmes, vous ne ferez aucun ouvrage, ni l’indigène, ni l’étranger qui séjourne au milieu de vous.
30Car en ce jour on fera l’expiation pour vous, afin de vous purifier: vous serez purifiés de tous vos péchés devant l’Éternel.
31Ce sera pour vous un sabbat, un jour de repos, et vous humilierez vos âmes. C’est une loi perpétuelle.
32L’expiation sera faite par le sacrificateur qui a reçu l’onction et qui a été consacré pour succéder à son père dans le sacerdoce; il se revêtira des vêtements de lin, des vêtements sacrés.
33Il fera l’expiation pour le sanctuaire de sainteté, il fera l’expiation pour la tente d’assignation et pour l’autel, et il fera l’expiation pour les sacrificateurs et pour tout le peuple de l’assemblée.
34Ce sera pour vous une loi perpétuelle: il se fera une fois chaque année l’expiation pour les enfants d’Israël, à cause de leurs péchés. On fit ce que l’Éternel avait ordonné à Moïse.

1Y HABLÓ Jehová á Moisés, después que murieron los dos hijos de Aarón, cuando se llegaron delante de Jehová, y murieron;
2Y Jehová dijo á Moisés: Di á Aarón tu hermano, que no en todo tiempo entre en el santuario del velo adentro, delante de la cubierta que está sobre el arca, para que no muera: porque yo apareceré en la nube sobre la cubierta.
3Con esto entrará Aarón en el santuario: con un becerro por expiación, y un carnero en holocausto.
4La túnica santa de lino se vestirá, y sobre su carne tendrá pañetes de lino, y ceñiráse el cinto de lino; y con la mitra de lino se cubrirá: son las santas vestiduras: con ellas, después de lavar su carne con agua, se ha de vestir.
5Y de la congregación de los hijos de Israel tomará dos machos de cabrío para expiación, y un carnero para holocausto.
6Y hará allegar Aarón el becerro de la expiación, que es suyo, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por su casa.
7Después tomará los dos machos de cabrío, y los presentará delante de Jehová á la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio.
8Y echará suertes Aarón sobre los dos machos de cabrío; la una suerte por Jehová, y la otra suerte por Azazel.
9Y hará allegar Aarón el macho cabrío sobre el cual cayere la suerte por Jehová, y ofrecerálo en expiación.
10Mas el macho cabrío, sobre el cual cayere la suerte por Azazel, lo presentará vivo delante de Jehová, para hacer la reconciliación sobre él, para enviarlo á Azazel al desierto.
11Y hará llegar Aarón el becerro que era suyo para expiación, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por su casa, y degollará en expiación el becerro que es suyo.
12Después tomará el incensario lleno de brasas de fuego, del altar de delante de Jehová, y sus puños llenos del perfume aromático molido, y meterálo del velo adentro:
13Y pondrá el perfume sobre el fuego delante de Jehová, y la nube del perfume cubrirá la cubierta que está sobre el testimonio, y no morirá.
14Tomará luego de la sangre del becerro, y rociará con su dedo hacia la cubierta al lado oriental: hacia la cubierta esparcirá siete veces de aquella sangre con su dedo.
15Después degollará en expiación el macho cabrío, que era del pueblo, y meterá la sangre de él del velo adentro; y hará de su sangre como hizo de la sangre del becerro, y esparcirá sobre la cubierta y delante de la cubierta:
16Y limpiará el santuario, de las inmundicias de los hijos de Israel, y de sus rebeliones, y de todos sus pecados: de la misma manera hará también al tabernáculo del testimonio, el cual reside entre ellos en medio de sus inmundicias.
17Y ningún hombre estará en el tabernáculo del testimonio cuando él entrare á hacer la reconciliación en el santuario, hasta que él salga, y haya hecho la reconciliación por sí, y por su casa, y por toda la congregación de Israel.
18Y saldrá al altar que está delante de Jehová, y lo expiará; y tomará de la sangre del becerro, y de la sangre del macho cabrío, y pondrá sobre los cuernos del altar alrededor.
19Y esparcirá sobre él de la sangre con su dedo siete veces, y lo limpiará, y lo santificará de las inmundicias de los hijos de Israel.
20Y cuando hubiere acabado de expiar el santuario, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, y el altar, hará llegar el macho cabrío vivo:
21Y pondrá Aarón ambas manos suyas sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío vivo, y confesará sobre él todas las iniquidades de los hijos de Israel, y todas sus rebeliones, y todos sus pecados, poniéndolos así sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, y lo enviará al desierto por mano de un hombre destinado para esto.
22Y aquel macho cabrío llevará sobre sí todas las iniquidades de ellos á tierra inhabitada: y dejará ir el macho cabrío por el desierto.
23Después vendrá Aarón al tabernáculo del testimonio, y se desnudará las vestimentas de lino, que había vestido para entrar en el santuario, y pondrálas allí.
24Lavará luego su carne con agua en el lugar del santuario, y después de ponerse sus vestidos saldrá, y hará su holocausto, y el holocausto del pueblo, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por el pueblo.
25Y quemará el sebo de la expiación sobre el altar.
26Y el que hubiere llevado el macho cabrío á Azazel, lavará sus vestidos, lavará también con agua su carne, y después entrará en el real.
27Y sacará fuera del real el becerro del pecado, y el macho cabrío de la culpa, la sangre de los cuales fué metida para hacer la expiación en el santuario; y quemarán en el fuego sus pellejos, y sus carnes, y su estiércol.
28Y el que los quemare, lavará sus vestidos, lavará también su carne con agua, y después entrará en el real.
29Y esto tendréis por estatuto perpetuo: En el mes séptimo, á los diez del mes, afligiréis vuestras almas, y ninguna obra haréis, ni el natural ni el extranjero que peregrina entre vosotros:
30Porque en este día se os reconciliará para limpiaros; y seréis limpios de todos vuestros pecados delante de Jehová.
31Sábado de reposo es para vosotros, y afligiréis vuestras almas, por estatuto perpetuo.
32Y hará la reconciliación el sacerdote que fuere ungido, y cuya mano hubiere sido llena para ser sacerdote en lugar de su padre; y se vestirá las vestimentas de lino, las vestiduras sagradas:
33Y expiará el santuario santo, y el tabernáculo del testimonio; expiará también el altar, y á los sacerdotes, y á todo el pueblo de la congregación.
34Y esto tendréis por estatuto perpetuo, para expiar á los hijos de Israel de todos sus pecados una vez en el año. Y Moisés lo hizo como Jehová le mandó.

1And the LORD spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD, and died;
2And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.
3Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.
4He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.
5And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
6And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house.
7And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
8And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
9And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD’s lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
10But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

13And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:
14And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.
15Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:
16And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
17And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
18And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.
19And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
20And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:
21And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
22And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.
23And Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:
24And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.
25And the fat of the sin offering shall he burn upon the altar.

1The LORD spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they came near before the LORD, and died;
2and the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at just any time into the Most Holy Place within the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark; lest he die; for I will appear in the cloud on the mercy seat.
3“Aaron shall come into the sanctuary with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.
4He shall put on the holy linen tunic. He shall have the linen trousers on his body, and shall put on the linen sash, and he shall be clothed with the linen turban. They are the holy garments. He shall bathe his body in water, and put them on.
5He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two male goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
6“Aaron shall offer the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house.

17No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.
18“He shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull’s blood, and some of the goat’s blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar.
19He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
20“When he has finished atoning for the Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat.
21Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is ready.
22The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary land, and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.
23“Aaron shall come into the Tent of Meeting, and shall take off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave them there.
24Then he shall bathe himself in water in a holy place, put on his garments, and come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.
25The fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar.
26“He who lets the goat go as the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
27The bull for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp; and they shall burn their skins, their flesh, and their dung with fire.
28He who burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.
29“It shall be a statute to you forever: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no kind of work, whether native-born or a stranger who lives as a foreigner among you;
30for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you. You shall be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
31It is a Sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls. It is a statute forever.
32The priest, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be priest in his father’s place, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.
33Then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary; and he shall make atonement for the Tent of Meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.
34“This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” It was done as the LORD commanded Moses.
