Después de esto, el Señor escogió a otros setenta y dos discípulos y los envió de dos en dos para que llegaran antes que él a todos los pueblos y lugares donde él pensaba ir.
Y DESPUÉS de estas cosas, designó el Señor aun otros setenta, los cuales envió de dos en dos delante de sí, á toda ciudad y lugar á donde él había de venir.
After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

Les dijo: «La cosecha es mucha y son muy pocos los obreros. Por eso, pídanle al Señor de la cosecha que mande obreros a su campo.
Y les decía: La mies á la verdad es mucha, mas los obreros pocos; por tanto, rogad al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros á su mies.
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.
¡Vayan ustedes! Pero fíjense que los envío como corderos en medio de lobos.

Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

No lleven dinero, ni bolsa, ni zapatos, ni se detengan a saludar a nadie por el camino.

»Cuando lleguen a una casa, primero saluden y digan: “Paz a esta casa”.
En cualquiera casa donde entrareis, primeramente decid: Paz sea á esta casa.
And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

Si hay allí alguien digno de paz, la recibirá; pero si no, la bendición no se cumplirá.
Y si hubiere allí algún hijo de paz, vuestra paz reposará sobre él; y si no, se volverá á vosotros.
And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.
Quédense en la misma casa, coman y beban lo que allí les den, porque el trabajador tiene derecho a su salario. No anden de casa en casa.
Y posad en aquella misma casa, comiendo y bebiendo lo que os dieren; porque el obrero digno es de su salario. No os paséis de casa en casa.
And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.
»Cuando lleguen a un pueblo y los reciban bien, coman lo que les sirvan.
Y en cualquier ciudad donde entrareis, y os recibieren, comed lo que os pusieren delante;
And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
Into whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you.
Sanen a los enfermos y díganles: “El reino de Dios ya está cerca de ustedes”.
Y sanad los enfermos que en ella hubiere, y decidles: Se ha llegado á vosotros el reino de Dios.
And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
Pero cuando lleguen a un pueblo y no los reciban bien, salgan a las plazas y digan:
Mas en cualquier ciudad donde entrareis, y no os recibieren, saliendo por sus calles, decid:

“Hasta el polvo de este pueblo, que se nos ha pegado a los pies, lo sacudimos en protesta contra ustedes. Pero les aseguro que el reino de Dios ya está cerca”.
Aun el polvo que se nos ha pegado de vuestra ciudad á nuestros pies, sacudimos en vosotros: esto empero sabed, que el reino de los cielos se ha llegado á vosotros.
Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
‘Even the dust from your city that clings to us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
Ciertamente, en aquel día, el castigo de este pueblo será peor que el castigo de Sodoma.
Y os digo que los de Sodoma tendrán más remisión aquel día, que aquella ciudad.
But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.
»¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Betsaida! Porque si los milagros que se hicieron entre ustedes, se hubieran hecho en Tiro y en Sidón, hace tiempo que se habrían arrepentido, y se habrían vestido con ropas ásperas y echado ceniza en la cabeza.
¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! que si en Tiro y en Sidón hubieran sido hechas las maravillas que se han hecho en vosotras, ya días ha que, sentados en cilicio y ceniza, se habrían arrepentido.
Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
Pero en el juicio, el castigo reservado para ustedes será peor que el de Tiro y Sidón.
Por tanto, Tiro y Sidón tendrán más remisión que vosotras en el juicio.
But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

Y tú, Capernaúm, ¿piensas que serás levantada hasta el cielo? No, sino que bajarás hasta el abismo.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

»El que los escucha a ustedes, me escucha a mí. El que los rechaza a ustedes, me rechaza a mí. Y el que me rechaza a mí, rechaza al que me envió».
El que á vosotros oye, á mí oye; y el que á vosotros desecha, á mí desecha; y el que á mí desecha, desecha al que me envió.
He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
Los setenta y dos discípulos regresaron contentos de la misión y dijeron: ―Señor, hasta los demonios nos obedecen cuando les damos órdenes en tu nombre.
Y volvieron los setenta con gozo, diciendo: Señor, aun los demonios se nos sujetan en tu nombre.
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

Él les respondió: ―Yo vi a Satanás caer del cielo como un rayo.

Sí, yo les he dado a ustedes poder para pisotear serpientes y escorpiones, para vencer todo el poder del enemigo, y nada les hará daño.
He aquí os doy potestad de hollar sobre las serpientes y sobre los escorpiones, y sobre toda fuerza del enemigo, y nada os dañará.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Sin embargo, no se alegren de que los espíritus les obedezcan, sino alégrense de que sus nombres están escritos en el cielo.
Mas no os gocéis de esto, que los espíritus se os sujetan; antes gozaos de que vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
En ese momento Jesús, lleno de alegría por el Espíritu Santo, dijo: «Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque no permitiste que los sabios e instruidos conocieran estas cosas, sino que se las has revelado a los que son como niños. Sí, Padre, porque así lo quisiste.
En aquella misma hora Jesús se alegró en espíritu, y dijo: Yo te alabo, oh Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que escondiste estas cosas á los sabios y entendidos, y las has revelado á los pequeños: así, Padre, porque así te agradó.
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
In that same hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.”
»Mi Padre me ha entregado todas las cosas. Nadie sabe quién es el Hijo, sino el Padre; y nadie sabe quién es el Padre, sino el Hijo y aquel a quien el Hijo se lo quiera revelar».
Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie sabe quién sea el Hijo sino el Padre; ni quién sea el Padre, sino el Hijo, y á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.
All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
Turning to the disciples, he said, “All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him.”
Volviéndose a sus discípulos, les dijo a solas: «Dichosos los ojos que ven lo que ustedes ven.
Y vuelto particularmente á los discípulos, dijo: Bienaventurados los ojos que ven lo que vosotros veis:
And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

Pues yo les digo que muchos profetas y reyes quisieron ver lo que ustedes ven, pero no lo vieron; y oír lo que ustedes oyen, pero no lo oyeron».
Porque os digo que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron; y oir lo que oís, y no lo oyeron.
For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Un maestro de la ley fue ante Jesús y lo quiso poner a prueba haciéndole esta pregunta: ―Maestro, ¿qué tengo que hacer para tener la vida eterna?
Y he aquí, un doctor de la ley se levantó, tentándole y diciendo: Maestro, ¿haciendo qué cosa poseeré la vida eterna?
And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
Jesús le respondió: ―¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿Entiendes tú lo que quiere decir?
Y él le dijo: ¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿cómo lees?
He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
El maestro de la ley respondió: ―“Ama al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con todas tus fuerzas y con toda tu mente”, y “Ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”.
Y él respondiendo, dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de todas tus fuerzas, y de todo tu entendimiento; y á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
Jesús le dijo: ―Contestaste muy bien. Haz eso y vivirás.
Y díjole: Bien has respondido: haz esto, y vivirás.
And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
Pero él, queriendo justificarse, le volvió a preguntar: ―¿Y quién es mi prójimo?
Mas él, queriéndose justificar á sí mismo, dijo á Jesús: ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?
But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”
Jesús le respondió: ―En cierta ocasión, un hombre iba de Jerusalén a Jericó y cayó en manos de unos ladrones. Estos le quitaron todo lo que llevaba, lo golpearon y lo dejaron medio muerto.
Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Un hombre descendía de Jerusalem á Jericó, y cayó en manos de ladrones, los cuales le despojaron; é hiriéndole, se fueron, dejándole medio muerto.
And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

Entonces pasó por el mismo camino un sacerdote que, al verlo, se hizo a un lado y siguió de largo.
Y aconteció, que descendió un sacerdote por aquel camino, y viéndole, se pasó de un lado.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

Luego, un levita pasó también por el mismo lugar y, al verlo, se hizo a un lado y siguió de largo.
Y asimismo un Levita, llegando cerca de aquel lugar, y viéndole, se pasó de un lado.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

Pero un samaritano que iba de viaje por el mismo camino, se acercó al hombre y, al verlo, se compadeció de él.

Llegó adonde estaba, le curó las heridas con vino y aceite, y se las vendó. Luego lo montó sobre su propia cabalgadura, lo llevó a un alojamiento y lo cuidó.

And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Al día siguiente, le dio dos monedas de plata al dueño del alojamiento y le dijo: “Cuídeme a este hombre, y lo que gaste usted de más, se lo pagaré cuando vuelva”.
Y otro día al partir, sacó dos denarios, y diólos al huésped, y le dijo: Cuídamele; y todo lo que de más gastares, yo cuando vuelva te lo pagaré.
And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’
¿Cuál de los tres piensas que se comportó como el prójimo del que cayó en manos de los ladrones?
¿Quién, pues, de estos tres te parece que fué el prójimo de aquél que cayó en manos de los ladrones?
Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”
El maestro de la ley contestó: ―El que se compadeció de él. Entonces Jesús le dijo: ―Anda pues y haz tú lo mismo.
Y él dijo: El que usó con él de misericordia. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ve, y haz tú lo mismo.
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
He said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
Jesús y sus discípulos continuaron su viaje y entraron en un pueblo. Allí, una mujer llamada Marta los recibió en su casa.
Y aconteció que yendo, entró él en una aldea: y una mujer llamada Marta, le recibió en su casa.
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
Ella tenía una hermana llamada María, que se sentó a los pies del Señor a escucharlo.
Y ésta tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, la cual sentándose á los pies de Jesús, oía su palabra.
And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

Marta estaba preocupada, pues tenía mucho que hacer. Entonces se acercó a Jesús y le dijo: ―Señor, ¿no te importa que mi hermana me haya dejado sirviendo sola? Dile que me ayude.
Empero Marta se distraía en muchos servicios; y sobreviniendo, dice: Señor, ¿no tienes cuidado que mi hermana me deja servir sola? Dile pues, que me ayude.
But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.”
Jesús le contestó: ―Marta, Marta, te preocupas demasiado por muchas cosas.
Pero respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Marta, Marta, cuidadosa estás, y con las muchas cosas estás turbada:
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
Pero sólo una es necesaria. María ha escogido la mejor, y nadie se la va a quitar.
Empero una cosa es necesaria; y María escogió la buena parte, la cual no le será quitada.
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
