1Or dopo queste cose, il Signore designò altri settanta discepoli, e li mandò a due a due dinanzi a sé, in ogni città e luogo dove egli stesso era per andare.
2E diceva loro: Ben è la mèsse grande, ma gli operai son pochi; pregate dunque il Signor della mèsse che spinga degli operai nella sua mèsse.
3Andate; ecco, io vi mando come agnelli in mezzo ai lupi.
4Non portate né borsa, né sacca, né calzari, e non salutate alcuno per via.
5In qualunque casa sarete entrati, dite prima: Pace a questa casa!
6E se v’è quivi alcun figliuolo di pace, la vostra pace riposerà su lui; se no, ella tornerà a voi.
7Or dimorate in quella stessa casa, mangiando e bevendo di quello che hanno, perché l’operaio è degno della sua mercede. Non passate di casa in casa.
8E in qualunque città sarete entrati, se vi ricevono, mangiate di ciò che vi sarà messo dinanzi,
9guarite gl’infermi che saranno in essa, e dite loro: Il regno di Dio s’è avvicinato a voi.
10Ma in qualunque città sarete entrati, se non vi ricevono, uscite sulle piazze e dite:
11Perfino la polvere che dalla vostra città s’è attaccata a’ nostri piedi, noi la scotiamo contro a voi; sappiate tuttavia questo, che il regno di Dio s’è avvicinato a voi.
12Io vi dico che in quel giorno la sorte di Sodoma sarà più tollerabile della sorte di quella città.
13Guai a te, Corazin! Guai a te, Betsaida; perché se in Tiro e in Sidone fossero state fatte le opere potenti compiute fra voi, già anticamente si sarebbero ravvedute, prendendo il cilicio, e sedendo nella cenere.
14E però, nel giorno del giudicio, la sorte di Tiro e di Sidone sarà più tollerabile della vostra.
15E tu, o Capernaum, sarai tu forse innalzata fino al cielo? No, tu sarai abbassata fino nell’Ades!
16Chi ascolta voi ascolta me; chi sprezza voi sprezza me, e chi sprezza me sprezza Colui che mi ha mandato.
17Or i settanta tornarono con allegrezza, dicendo: Signore, anche i demoni ci sono sottoposti nel tuo nome.
18Ed egli disse loro: Io mirava Satana cader dal cielo a guisa di folgore.
19Ecco, io v’ho dato la potestà di calcar serpenti e scorpioni, e tutta la potenza del nemico; e nulla potrà farvi del male.
20Pure, non vi rallegrate perché gli spiriti vi son sottoposti, ma rallegratevi perché i vostri nomi sono scritti ne’ cieli.
21In quella stessa ora, Gesù giubilò per lo Spirito Santo, e disse: Io ti rendo lode, o Padre, Signore del cielo e della terra, perché hai nascoste queste cose ai savi e agl’intelligenti, e le hai rivelate ai piccoli fanciulli! Sì, o Padre, perché così ti è piaciuto.
22Ogni cosa m’è stata data in mano dal Padre mio; e nessuno conosce chi è il Figliuolo, se non il Padre; né chi è il Padre, se non il Figliuolo e colui al quale il Figliuolo voglia rivelarlo.
23E rivoltosi a’ suoi discepoli, disse loro in disparte: Beati gli occhi che veggono le cose che voi vedete!
24Poiché vi dico che molti profeti e re han bramato di veder le cose che voi vedete, e non le hanno vedute; e di udir le cose che voi udite, e non le hanno udite.
25Ed ecco, un certo dottor della legge si levò per metterlo alla prova, e gli disse: Maestro, che dovrò fare per eredar la vita eterna?
26Ed egli gli disse: Nella legge che sta scritto? Come leggi?
27E colui, rispondendo, disse: Ama il Signore Iddio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore, e con tutta l’anima tua, e con tutta la forza tua, e con tutta la mente tua, e il tuo prossimo come te stesso.
28E Gesù gli disse: Tu hai risposto rettamente; fa, questo, e vivrai.
29Ma colui, volendo giustificarsi, disse a Gesù: E chi è il mio prossimo?
30Gesù, replicando, disse: Un uomo scendeva da Gerusalemme a Gerico, e s’imbatté in ladroni i quali, spogliatolo e feritolo, se ne andarono, lasciandolo mezzo morto.
31Or, per caso, un sacerdote scendeva per quella stessa via; e veduto colui, passò oltre dal lato opposto.
32Così pure un levita, giunto a quel luogo e vedutolo, passò oltre dal lato opposto.
33Ma un Samaritano che era in viaggio giunse presso a lui; e vedutolo, n’ebbe pietà;
34e accostatosi, fasciò le sue piaghe, versandovi sopra dell’olio e del vino; poi lo mise sulla propria cavalcatura, lo menò ad un albergo e si prese cura di lui.
35E il giorno dopo, tratti fuori due denari, li diede all’oste e gli disse: Prenditi cura di lui; e tutto ciò che spenderai di più, quando tornerò in su, te lo renderò.
36Quale di questi tre ti pare essere stato il prossimo di colui che s’imbatté ne’ ladroni?
37E quello rispose: Colui che gli usò misericordia. E Gesù gli disse: Va’, e fa’ tu il simigliante.
38Or mentre essi erano in cammino, egli entrò in un villaggio; e una certa donna, per nome Marta, lo ricevette in casa sua.
39Ell’avea una sorella chiamata Maria la quale, postasi a sedere a’ piedi di Gesù, ascoltava la sua parola.
40Ma Marta era affaccendata intorno a molti servigi; e venne e disse: Signore, non t’importa che mia sorella m’abbia lasciata sola a servire? Dille dunque che m’aiuti.
41Ma il Signore, rispondendo, le disse: Marta, Marta, tu ti affanni e t’inquieti di molte cose, ma di una cosa sola fa bisogno.
42E Maria ha scelto la buona parte che non le sarà tolta.

1Y DESPUÉS de estas cosas, designó el Señor aun otros setenta, los cuales envió de dos en dos delante de sí, á toda ciudad y lugar á donde él había de venir.
2Y les decía: La mies á la verdad es mucha, mas los obreros pocos; por tanto, rogad al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros á su mies.
3Andad, he aquí yo os envío como corderos en medio de lobos.
4No llevéis bolsa, ni alforja, ni calzado; y á nadie saludéis en el camino.
5En cualquiera casa donde entrareis, primeramente decid: Paz sea á esta casa.
6Y si hubiere allí algún hijo de paz, vuestra paz reposará sobre él; y si no, se volverá á vosotros.
7Y posad en aquella misma casa, comiendo y bebiendo lo que os dieren; porque el obrero digno es de su salario. No os paséis de casa en casa.
8Y en cualquier ciudad donde entrareis, y os recibieren, comed lo que os pusieren delante;
9Y sanad los enfermos que en ella hubiere, y decidles: Se ha llegado á vosotros el reino de Dios.
10Mas en cualquier ciudad donde entrareis, y no os recibieren, saliendo por sus calles, decid:
11Aun el polvo que se nos ha pegado de vuestra ciudad á nuestros pies, sacudimos en vosotros: esto empero sabed, que el reino de los cielos se ha llegado á vosotros.
12Y os digo que los de Sodoma tendrán más remisión aquel día, que aquella ciudad.
13¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! que si en Tiro y en Sidón hubieran sido hechas las maravillas que se han hecho en vosotras, ya días ha que, sentados en cilicio y ceniza, se habrían arrepentido.
14Por tanto, Tiro y Sidón tendrán más remisión que vosotras en el juicio.
15Y tú, Capernaum, que hasta los cielos estás levantada, hasta los infiernos serás abajada.
16El que á vosotros oye, á mí oye; y el que á vosotros desecha, á mí desecha; y el que á mí desecha, desecha al que me envió.
17Y volvieron los setenta con gozo, diciendo: Señor, aun los demonios se nos sujetan en tu nombre.
18Y les dijo: Yo veía á Satanás, como un rayo, que caía del cielo.
19He aquí os doy potestad de hollar sobre las serpientes y sobre los escorpiones, y sobre toda fuerza del enemigo, y nada os dañará.
20Mas no os gocéis de esto, que los espíritus se os sujetan; antes gozaos de que vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos.
21En aquella misma hora Jesús se alegró en espíritu, y dijo: Yo te alabo, oh Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que escondiste estas cosas á los sabios y entendidos, y las has revelado á los pequeños: así, Padre, porque así te agradó.
22Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie sabe quién sea el Hijo sino el Padre; ni quién sea el Padre, sino el Hijo, y á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.
23Y vuelto particularmente á los discípulos, dijo: Bienaventurados los ojos que ven lo que vosotros veis:
24Porque os digo que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron; y oir lo que oís, y no lo oyeron.
25Y he aquí, un doctor de la ley se levantó, tentándole y diciendo: Maestro, ¿haciendo qué cosa poseeré la vida eterna?
26Y él le dijo: ¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿cómo lees?
27Y él respondiendo, dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de todas tus fuerzas, y de todo tu entendimiento; y á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
28Y díjole: Bien has respondido: haz esto, y vivirás.
29Mas él, queriéndose justificar á sí mismo, dijo á Jesús: ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?
30Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Un hombre descendía de Jerusalem á Jericó, y cayó en manos de ladrones, los cuales le despojaron; é hiriéndole, se fueron, dejándole medio muerto.
31Y aconteció, que descendió un sacerdote por aquel camino, y viéndole, se pasó de un lado.
32Y asimismo un Levita, llegando cerca de aquel lugar, y viéndole, se pasó de un lado.
33Mas un Samaritano que transitaba, viniendo cerca de él, y viéndole, fué movido á misericordia;
34Y llegándose, vendó sus heridas, echándoles aceite y vino; y poniéndole sobre su cabalgadura, llevóle al mesón, y cuidó de él.
35Y otro día al partir, sacó dos denarios, y diólos al huésped, y le dijo: Cuídamele; y todo lo que de más gastares, yo cuando vuelva te lo pagaré.
36¿Quién, pues, de estos tres te parece que fué el prójimo de aquél que cayó en manos de los ladrones?
37Y él dijo: El que usó con él de misericordia. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ve, y haz tú lo mismo.
38Y aconteció que yendo, entró él en una aldea: y una mujer llamada Marta, le recibió en su casa.
39Y ésta tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, la cual sentándose á los pies de Jesús, oía su palabra.
40Empero Marta se distraía en muchos servicios; y sobreviniendo, dice: Señor, ¿no tienes cuidado que mi hermana me deja servir sola? Dile pues, que me ayude.
41Pero respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Marta, Marta, cuidadosa estás, y con las muchas cosas estás turbada:
42Empero una cosa es necesaria; y María escogió la buena parte, la cual no le será quitada.

1After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
2Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
10But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
11Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
12But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
13Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
15And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
16He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
21In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
22All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
23And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
24For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
30And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
38Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
40But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

1Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place where he was about to come.
2Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.
3Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
4Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way.
5Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’
6If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.
7Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.
8Into whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you.
9Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
10But into whatever city you enter and they don’t receive you, go out into its streets and say,
11‘Even the dust from your city that clings to us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
12I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.
13“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.
15You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades.
16Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
17The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
18He said to them, “I saw Satan having fallen like lightning from heaven.
19Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you.
20Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
21In that same hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.”
22Turning to the disciples, he said, “All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him.”
23Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,
24for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.”
25Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
27He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
28He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
29But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”
30Jesus answered, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion,
34came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’
36Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”
37He said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
38As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard his word.
40But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.”
41Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
42but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
