Después de esto, el Señor designó a otros setenta discípulos, y los envió de dos en dos a cada ciudad y lugar que él planeaba visitar.

After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

“La cosecha es grande, pero hay pocos trabajadores”, les dijo. “Oren para que el Señor de la cosecha envíe trabajadores a sus campos.
Y les decía: La mies á la verdad es mucha, mas los obreros pocos; por tanto, rogad al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros á su mies.
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.
Así que sigan su camino: yo los envío como ovejas en medio de lobos.
Andad, he aquí yo os envío como corderos en medio de lobos.
Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

No lleven dinero, ni bolsas, ni calzado adicional, y no gasten tiempo hablando con las personas que se encuentren.
No llevéis bolsa, ni alforja, ni calzado; y á nadie saludéis en el camino.
Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way.
Toda casa donde entren, digan en primer lugar: ‘Que la paz esté en esta casa’.
En cualquiera casa donde entrareis, primeramente decid: Paz sea á esta casa.
And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

Si hay alguna persona pacífica viviendo allí, entonces la paz de ustedes estará con ellos; si no, la paz regresará a ustedes.
Y si hubiere allí algún hijo de paz, vuestra paz reposará sobre él; y si no, se volverá á vosotros.
And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.
Quédense en esa casa, coman y beban todo lo que allí les brinden, pues un trabajador merece su pago. No vayan de una casa a otra.
Y posad en aquella misma casa, comiendo y bebiendo lo que os dieren; porque el obrero digno es de su salario. No os paséis de casa en casa.
And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.
Si llegan a una ciudad y las personas de allí los reciben, entonces coman lo que esté frente a ustedes
Y en cualquier ciudad donde entrareis, y os recibieren, comed lo que os pusieren delante;
And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

y sanen a los que estén enfermos. Díganles: ‘El reino de Dios ha venido a ustedes’.
Y sanad los enfermos que en ella hubiere, y decidles: Se ha llegado á vosotros el reino de Dios.
And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
Pero si llegan a una ciudad y las personas no los reciben, vayan por las calles y díganles:

‘Sacudimos hasta el polvo de esta ciudad de nuestros pies para mostrarles nuestro descontento. Pero reconozcan esto: el reino de Dios ha llegado’.
Aun el polvo que se nos ha pegado de vuestra ciudad á nuestros pies, sacudimos en vosotros: esto empero sabed, que el reino de los cielos se ha llegado á vosotros.
Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
‘Even the dust from your city that clings to us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
“Les aseguro que en el Día del Juicio será mejor la suerte de Sodoma que la de esa ciudad.
Y os digo que los de Sodoma tendrán más remisión aquel día, que aquella ciudad.
But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.
¡Lástima por ti, Corazín! ¡Lástima por ti, Betsaida! Porque si los milagros que ustedes vieron hubieran ocurrido en Tiro y Sidón, ya ellos se habrían arrepentido hace mucho tiempo, y estarían sentándose en cilicio y cenizas.
¡Ay de ti, Corazín! ¡Ay de ti, Bethsaida! que si en Tiro y en Sidón hubieran sido hechas las maravillas que se han hecho en vosotras, ya días ha que, sentados en cilicio y ceniza, se habrían arrepentido.
Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
Es por eso que en el juicio Tiro y Sidón tendrán mejor suerte que ustedes.
Por tanto, Tiro y Sidón tendrán más remisión que vosotras en el juicio.
But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.
But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.
Y tú, Capernaúm, no serás exaltada en el cielo; tú descenderás al Hades.
Y tú, Capernaum, que hasta los cielos estás levantada, hasta los infiernos serás abajada.
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

“Todo el que los oye a ustedes me oye a mí, y todo el que los rechaza a ustedes me rechaza a mí. Pero cualquiera que me rechaza a mí, rechaza al que me envió”.
El que á vosotros oye, á mí oye; y el que á vosotros desecha, á mí desecha; y el que á mí desecha, desecha al que me envió.
He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
Los setenta discípulos regresaron con gran emoción, diciendo: “¡Señor, hasta los demonios hacen lo que les decimos en tu nombre!”
Y volvieron los setenta con gozo, diciendo: Señor, aun los demonios se nos sujetan en tu nombre.
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
Y Jesús respondió: “Yo vi a Satanás caer como un rayo del cielo.

Sí, yo les he dado poder para pisar sobre serpientes y escorpiones, y para vencer toda la fuerza del enemigo, y nada les hará daño.
He aquí os doy potestad de hollar sobre las serpientes y sobre los escorpiones, y sobre toda fuerza del enemigo, y nada os dañará.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Pero no se deleiten en que los espíritus hagan lo que ustedes les dicen, solo alégrense de que los nombres de ustedes estén escritos en el cielo”.
Mas no os gocéis de esto, que los espíritus se os sujetan; antes gozaos de que vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
En ese momento Jesús fue lleno con el gozo del Espíritu Santo, y dijo: “¡Gracias, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque tú ocultaste estas cosas de los sabios e inteligentes y las revelaste a tus hijos! Sí, Padre, tú te complaciste en hacerlo así.
En aquella misma hora Jesús se alegró en espíritu, y dijo: Yo te alabo, oh Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que escondiste estas cosas á los sabios y entendidos, y las has revelado á los pequeños: así, Padre, porque así te agradó.
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
In that same hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.”
“Mi padre me ha entregado todo. Nadie entiende al Hijo, excepto el Padre, y nadie entiende al Padre, excepto el Hijo y aquellos a quienes el Hijo elige para relevarles al Padre”.
Todas las cosas me son entregadas de mi Padre: y nadie sabe quién sea el Hijo sino el Padre; ni quién sea el Padre, sino el Hijo, y á quien el Hijo lo quisiere revelar.
All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
Turning to the disciples, he said, “All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him.”
Cuando estaban solos, Jesús se volvió hacia sus discípulos y les dijo: “¡Estos que ven lo que ustedes están viendo deberían estar muy felices!
Y vuelto particularmente á los discípulos, dijo: Bienaventurados los ojos que ven lo que vosotros veis:
And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,
Yo les digo que muchos profetas y reyes han querido ver lo que ustedes están viendo, pero ellos no vieron, y querían oír las cosas que ustedes están oyendo, pero no oyeron”.
Porque os digo que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron; y oir lo que oís, y no lo oyeron.
For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.”
En cierta ocasión, un experto en leyes religiosas se levantó y quiso ponerle una trampa a Jesús: “Maestro”, preguntó, “¿Qué debo hacer para ganar la vida eterna?”
Y he aquí, un doctor de la ley se levantó, tentándole y diciendo: Maestro, ¿haciendo qué cosa poseeré la vida eterna?
And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
“¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿Qué has leído?” preguntó Jesús.
Y él le dijo: ¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿cómo lees?
He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
“Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con todo tu espíritu, y con todas tus fuerzas, y con toda tu mente; y amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”, respondió el hombre.
Y él respondiendo, dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y de todas tus fuerzas, y de todo tu entendimiento; y á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
“Estás en lo cierto”, le dijo Jesús. “Haz esto, y vivirás”.
Y díjole: Bien has respondido: haz esto, y vivirás.
And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
Pero el hombre quería vindicarse, así que le preguntó a Jesús: “¿Y quién es mi prójimo?”
Mas él, queriéndose justificar á sí mismo, dijo á Jesús: ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?
But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”
Jesús respondió, diciendo: “Un hombre descendía de Jerusalén hacia Jericó. Y fue asaltado por unos ladrones, quienes lo desnudaron y lo golpearon, dejándolo casi muerto.
Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Un hombre descendía de Jerusalem á Jericó, y cayó en manos de ladrones, los cuales le despojaron; é hiriéndole, se fueron, dejándole medio muerto.
And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Jesus answered, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
Sucedió que un sacerdote iba por el mismo camino. Este vio al hombre, pero siguió de largo, tomando el otro lado del camino.
Y aconteció, que descendió un sacerdote por aquel camino, y viéndole, se pasó de un lado.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Luego pasó un levita. Pero cuando llegó al lugar y vio al hombre, también siguió de largo por el otro lado del camino.
Y asimismo un Levita, llegando cerca de aquel lugar, y viéndole, se pasó de un lado.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
“Finalmente pasó un samaritano. Cuando pasaba por allí, vio al hombre y sintió compasión por él.
Mas un Samaritano que transitaba, viniendo cerca de él, y viéndole, fué movido á misericordia;
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

Se le acercó y curó sus heridas con aceite y vino, y les puso vendas. Entonces puso al hombre sobre su asno y lo llevó a una posada, y allí cuidó de él.
Y llegándose, vendó sus heridas, echándoles aceite y vino; y poniéndole sobre su cabalgadura, llevóle al mesón, y cuidó de él.
And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Al día siguiente le entregó dos denarios al propietario de la posada y le dijo: ‘Cuida de él, y si gastas más de esta cantidad, yo te pagaré cuando regrese’.
Y otro día al partir, sacó dos denarios, y diólos al huésped, y le dijo: Cuídamele; y todo lo que de más gastares, yo cuando vuelva te lo pagaré.
And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’
¿Cuál de estos tres hombres crees que fue el prójimo del hombre que fue atacado por los ladrones?”
¿Quién, pues, de estos tres te parece que fué el prójimo de aquél que cayó en manos de los ladrones?
Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

“El que fue bondadoso”, respondió el hombre. “Ve y haz tu lo mismo”, le dijo Jesús.
Y él dijo: El que usó con él de misericordia. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ve, y haz tú lo mismo.
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
He said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
Mientras iban de camino, Jesús llegó a una aldea, y una mujer llamada Marta lo invitó a su casa.
Y aconteció que yendo, entró él en una aldea: y una mujer llamada Marta, le recibió en su casa.
Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
Ella tenía una hermana llamada María, quien se sentó a los pies del Señor y escuchaba su enseñanza.
Y ésta tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, la cual sentándose á los pies de Jesús, oía su palabra.
And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

Marta estaba preocupada por todas las cosas que debían hacerse para preparar la comida, así que vino donde Jesús y le dijo: “Maestro, ¿no te preocupa que mi hermana me ha dejado haciendo todo el trabajo a mí sola? ¡Dile que venga y me ayude!”
Empero Marta se distraía en muchos servicios; y sobreviniendo, dice: Señor, ¿no tienes cuidado que mi hermana me deja servir sola? Dile pues, que me ayude.
But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.”
“Marta, Marta”, respondió el Señor, “estás preocupada y alterada por esto.
Pero respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Marta, Marta, cuidadosa estás, y con las muchas cosas estás turbada:
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
Pero solo una cosa es realmente necesaria. María ha elegido lo correcto, y no se le quitará”.
Empero una cosa es necesaria; y María escogió la buena parte, la cual no le será quitada.
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
