And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
When he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”
Les contestó: Cuando hablen con Dios, digan: Padre, santificado sea tu Nombre. Venga tu reino.
Y les dijo: Cuando orareis, decid: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos; sea tu nombre santificado. Venga tu reino. Sea hecha tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.
And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
He said to them, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día.

Perdónanos nuestros pecados porque también nosotros ya perdonamos a todo el que nos debe, y no nos metas en prueba.

And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
porque un amigo me llegó de camino, y no tengo qué servirle?
Porque un amigo mío ha venido á mí de camino, y no tengo qué ponerle delante;
For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
Y aquél responde desde adentro: No me molestes. Ya cerré la puerta y mis niños están conmigo en la cama. No puedo levantarme y darte.
Y el de dentro respondiendo, dijere: No me seas molesto; la puerta está ya cerrada, y mis niños están conmigo en cama; no puedo levantarme, y darte?
And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
Les digo que, si no se levanta y le da lo que pide por ser su amigo, por su importunidad, se levanta y le da todo lo que necesite.
Os digo, que aunque no se levante á darle por ser su amigo, cierto por su importunidad se levantará, y le dará todo lo que habrá menester.
I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
Yo les digo: Pidan y se les dará, busquen y hallarán, llamen a la puerta y se les abrirá.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Porque todo el que pide, recibe, y el que busca, halla, y al que llama a la puerta, se le abre.

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

¿A cuál de ustedes que es padre, si su hijo le pide un pescado, le da una serpiente?
¿Y cuál padre de vosotros, si su hijo le pidiere pan, le dará una piedra? ó, si pescado, ¿en lugar de pescado, le dará una serpiente?
If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
O si pide un huevo, ¿le da un escorpión?
O, si le pidiere un huevo, ¿le dará un escorpión?
Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he?
Pues si ustedes, que son malos, saben dar buenos regalos a sus hijos, ¡Cuánto más el Padre celestial dará el Espíritu Santo a los que lo piden!
Pues si vosotros, siendo malos, sabéis dar buenas dádivas á vuestros hijos, ¿cuánto más vuestro Padre celestial dará el Espíritu Santo á los que lo pidieren de él?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Jesús echó fuera un demonio mudo. Al salir el demonio, el mudo habló, y la multitud quedó asombrada.
Y estaba él lanzando un demonio, el cual era mudo: y aconteció que salido fuera el demonio, el mudo habló, y las gentes se maravillaron.
And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.
He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the multitudes marveled.
Pero algunos dijeron: Echa fuera los demonios por Beelzebul, el demonio principal.
Mas algunos de ellos decían: En Beelzebub, príncipe de los demonios, echa fuera los demonios.
But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
Otros demandaban de Él una señal del cielo para probarlo.
Y otros, tentando, pedían de él señal del cielo.
And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

Pero Él conocía los pensamientos de ellos y les dijo: Todo reino dividido contra él mismo es asolado y se derrumba.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

Si Satanás se dividió contra él mismo, ¿cómo se sostendrá su reino? Pues ustedes dicen que por Beelzebul Yo echo fuera los demonios.
Y si también Satanás está dividido contra sí mismo, ¿cómo estará en pie su reino? porque decís que en Beelzebub echo yo fuera los demonios.
If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
Si Yo echo fuera los demonios por Beelzebul, ¿sus hijos por quién los echan fuera? Por esto, ellos los juzgarán a ustedes.
Pues si yo echo fuera los demonios en Beelzebub, ¿vuestros hijos en quién los echan fuera? Por tanto, ellos serán vuestros jueces.
And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
Pero si echo fuera los demonios con el dedo de Dios, entonces el reino de Dios vino a ustedes.
Mas si por el dedo de Dios echo yo fuera los demonios, cierto el reino de Dios ha llegado á vosotros.
But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
But if I by God’s finger cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come to you.
Cuando el fuerte completamente armado custodia su casa, su propiedad está segura.
Cuando el fuerte armado guarda su atrio, en paz está lo que posee.
When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
“When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe.
Pero cuando llega uno más fuerte que él y lo vence, le quita su armadura en la cual confiaba y reparte sus despojos.
Mas si sobreviniendo otro más fuerte que él, le venciere, le toma todas sus armas en que confiaba, y reparte sus despojos.
But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armor in which he trusted, and divides his plunder.
El que no está conmigo, está contra Mí, y el que no recoge conmigo, desparrama.
El que no es conmigo, contra mí es; y el que conmigo no recoge, desparrama.
He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
“He who is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters.
Cuando el espíritu impuro sale del hombre, va por lugares secos y busca reposo. Al no hallarlo, dice: Regresaré a mi casa de donde salí.
Cuando el espíritu inmundo saliere del hombre, anda por lugares secos, buscando reposo; y no hallándolo, dice: Me volveré á mi casa de donde salí.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’
Cuando regresa la halla barrida y ordenada.
Y viniendo, la halla barrida y adornada.
And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.
Entonces va y toma consigo otros siete espíritus peores que él, entran y habitan allí. Las últimas cosas de aquel hombre son peores que las primeras.
Entonces va, y toma otros siete espíritus peores que él; y entrados, habitan allí: y lo postrero del tal hombre es peor que lo primero.
Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Then he goes and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
Cuando Él hablaba estas cosas, una mujer de la multitud exclamó: ¡Inmensamente feliz el vientre que te llevó y los pechos que mamaste!
Y aconteció que diciendo estas cosas, una mujer de la compañía, levantando la voz, le dijo: Bienaventurado el vientre que te trajo, y los pechos que mamaste.
And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
It came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which nursed you!”
Pero Él replicó: Más inmensamente felices son los que oyen y guardan la Palabra de Dios.
Y él dijo: Antes bienaventurados los que oyen la palabra de Dios, y la guardan.
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
Mientras se aglomeraba la multitud, Él dijo: Esta generación es perversa. Busca una señal, pero solo se le dará la señal de Jonás.
Y juntándose las gentes á él, comenzó á decir: Esta generación mala es: señal busca, mas señal no le será dada, sino la señal de Jonás.
And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
When the multitudes were gathering together to him, he began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Porque como Jonás fue una señal para los ninivitas, así también será el Hijo del Hombre para esta generación.
Porque como Jonás fué señal á los Ninivitas, así también será el Hijo del hombre á esta generación.
For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
For even as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so the Son of Man will also be to this generation.
Una reina del Sur se levantará en el juicio contra los varones de esta generación y los condenará, porque vino de los confines de la tierra a oír la sabiduría de Salomón, y aquí está Uno mayor que Salomón.
La reina del Austro se levantará en juicio con los hombres de esta generación, y los condenará; porque vino de los fines de la tierra á oir la sabiduría de Salomón; y he aquí más que Salomón en este lugar.
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Unos varones ninivitas se levantarán en el juicio contra esta generación y la condenarán, porque cambiaron de mente por la predicación de Jonás, y aquí está Uno mayor que Jonás.
Los hombres de Nínive se levantarán en juicio con esta generación, y la condenarán; porque á la predicación de Jonás se arrepintieron; y he aquí más que Jonás en este lugar.
The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

Nadie que enciende una lámpara la pone en un lugar oculto, o debajo de una caja para medir granos, sino sobre el candelero para que los que entran vean la luz.
Nadie pone en oculto la antorcha encendida, ni debajo del almud, sino en el candelero, para que los que entran vean la luz.
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.
“No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light.
La lámpara del cuerpo es tu ojo. Cuando tu ojo esté bien, todo tu cuerpo estará iluminado, pero cuando esté mal tu cuerpo estará oscuro.
La antorcha del cuerpo es el ojo: pues si tu ojo fuere simple, también todo tu cuerpo será resplandeciente; mas si fuere malo, también tu cuerpo será tenebroso.
The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
Ten cuidado, pues, no sea que la luz que hay en ti sea oscuridad.
Mira pues, si la lumbre que en ti hay, es tinieblas.
Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.
Así que, si todo tu cuerpo está iluminado y no tiene ninguna parte oscura, todo será luminoso, como cuando una lámpara te ilumina con su fulgor.
Así que, siendo todo tu cuerpo resplandeciente, no teniendo alguna parte de tinieblas, será todo luminoso, como cuando una antorcha de resplandor te alumbra.
If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”
Mientras hablaba, un fariseo le rogó que comiera con él. Entró y se reclinó.
Y luego que hubo hablado, rogóle un Fariseo que comiese con él: y entrado Jesús, se sentó á la mesa.
And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.
Now as he spoke, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in and sat at the table.
Pero cuando el fariseo lo observó, admiró que no se purificó antes de la comida.
Y el Fariseo, como lo vió, maravillóse de que no se lavó antes de comer.
And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.

Y el Señor le dijo: Ustedes los fariseos limpian lo de fuera del vaso o del plato, pero lo de dentro de ustedes está lleno de robo y perversidad.
Y el Señor le dijo: Ahora vosotros los Fariseos lo de fuera del vaso y del plato limpiáis; mas lo interior de vosotros está lleno de rapiña y de maldad.
And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
Insensatos, el que hizo lo de afuera, ¿no hizo también lo de adentro?
Necios, ¿el que hizo lo de fuera, no hizo también lo de dentro?
Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?
Más bien den de lo que está adentro como obra de caridad y entonces todo les será limpio.
Empero de lo que os resta, dad limosna; y he aquí todo os será limpio.
But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.
Pero ¡ay de ustedes, los fariseos! Porque diezman la menta, la ruda y toda hortaliza, pero pasan por alto la justicia y el amor de Dios. Era necesario practicar esto sin descuidar aquello.
Mas ¡ay de vosotros, Fariseos! que diezmáis la menta, y la ruda, y toda hortaliza; mas el juicio y la caridad de Dios pasáis de largo. Pues estas cosas era necesario hacer, y no dejar las otras.
But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and God’s love. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
¡Ay de ustedes, los fariseos! Porque aman el puesto de honor en las congregaciones y las salutaciones en las plazas.
¡Ay de vosotros, Fariseos! que amáis las primeras sillas en las sinagogas, y las salutaciones en las plazas.
Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.
¡Ay de ustedes! Porque son como los sepulcros que no se ven y los hombres que caminan encima no lo saben.
¡Ay de vosotros, escribas y Fariseos, hipócritas! que sois como sepulcros que no se ven, y los hombres que andan encima no lo saben.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”
Entonces uno de los doctores de la Ley le respondió: Maestro, al decir estas cosas también nos ofendes a nosotros.
Y respondiendo uno de los doctores de la ley, le dice: Maestro, cuando dices esto, también nos afrentas á nosotros.
Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.
One of the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying this you insult us also.”
Y Él contestó: ¡Ay de ustedes, los doctores de la Ley! Porque abruman a los hombres con cargas difíciles de llevar, pero ustedes ni siquiera las tocan con uno de sus dedos.
Y él dijo: ¡Ay de vosotros también, doctores de la ley! que cargáis á los hombres con cargas que no pueden llevar; mas vosotros ni aun con un dedo tocáis las cargas.
And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
He said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.
¡Ay de ustedes! Porque construyen sepulcros a los profetas que sus antepasados mataron.
¡Ay de vosotros! que edificáis los sepulcros de los profetas, y los mataron vuestros padres.
Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
Así que son testigos y consentidores de las obras de sus antepasados. Porque ciertamente ellos los mataron, y ustedes edifican sus sepulcros.
De cierto dais testimonio que consentís en los hechos de vuestros padres; porque á la verdad ellos los mataron, mas vosotros edificáis sus sepulcros.
Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.
So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.
Por esto también la sabiduría de Dios dijo: Les enviaré profetas y apóstoles. Matarán y perseguirán a algunos de ellos,
Por tanto, la sabiduría de Dios también dijo: Enviaré á ellos profetas y apóstoles; y de ellos á unos matarán y á otros perseguirán;
Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

para que la sangre derramada de todos los profetas desde la creación del mundo se demande de esta generación,
Para que de esta generación sea demandada la sangre de todos los profetas, que ha sido derramada desde la fundación del mundo;
That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation,
desde la sangre de Abel hasta la sangre de Zacarías, quien fue asesinado entre el altar y la Casa de Dios. Ciertamente les digo, será demandada de esta generación.

From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

¡Ay de ustedes, los doctores de la Ley, porque quitaron la llave del conocimiento! Ustedes no entraron e impidieron a los que querían entrar.
¡Ay de vosotros, doctores de la ley! que habéis quitado la llave de la ciencia; vosotros mismos no entrasteis, y á los que entraban impedisteis.
Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.
Woe to you lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”
Cuando Él salió de allí, los escribas y los fariseos actuaron de manera hostil y lo interrogaron con respecto a muchas cosas.
Y diciéndoles estas cosas, los escribas y los Fariseos comenzaron á apretarle en gran manera, y á provocarle á que hablase de muchas cosas;
And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him,
Lo asechaban para atrapar algo que dijera.
Acechándole, y procurando cazar algo de su boca para acusarle.
Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
