Lucas 12

En ese momento, cuando miles de personas se habían reunido, en tal cantidad que se estaban atropellando unos a otros, dijo primero a sus discípulos: “No tengan nada que ver con la levadura de los fariseos, que es la hipocresía”.

EN esto, juntándose muchas gentes, tanto que unos á otros se hollaban, comenzó á decir á sus discípulos, primeramente: Guardaos de la levadura de los Fariseos, que es hipocresía.

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Pero nada está encubierto, que no haya de descubrirse, o secreto, que no haya de saberse.

Porque nada hay encubierto, que no haya de ser descubierto; ni oculto, que no haya de ser sabido.

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.

Por lo tanto, cualquier cosa que hayas dicho en la oscuridad, a la luz se oirá, y lo que has dicho en secreto dentro de la casa, se hará público desde las azoteas.

Por tanto, las cosas que dijisteis en tinieblas, á la luz serán oídas; y lo que hablasteis al oído en las cámaras, será pregonado en los terrados.

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Y les digo, amigos míos: No teman a los que matan el cuerpo, y después nada más pueden hacer.

Mas os digo, amigos míos: No temáis de los que matan el cuerpo, y después no tienen más que hacer.

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

“I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

Pero les enseñaré a quién deben de temer, de aquel que después de la muerte tiene poder para enviar al infierno; Sí, les digo: A Él teman!.

Mas os enseñaré á quién temáis: temed á aquel que después de haber quitado la vida, tiene poder de echar en la Gehenna: así os digo: á éste temed.

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

¿No se dan cinco pajarillos a cambio de dos cuartos? y Dios tiene a cada uno de ellos en mente.

¿No se venden cinco pajarillos por dos blancas? pues ni uno de ellos está olvidado delante de Dios.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

“Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God.

Pero incluso los cabellos de tu cabeza están contados. No teman: tienen más valor que una bandada de gorriones.

Y aun los cabellos de vuestra cabeza están todos contados. No temáis pues: de más estima sois que muchos pajarillos.

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

Y les digo que a todo el que me da testimonio delante de los hombres, también el Hijo del hombre dará testimonio delante de los ángeles de Dios.

Y os digo que todo aquel que me confesare delante de los hombres, también el Hijo del hombre le confesará delante de los ángeles de Dios;

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

“I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God;

Pero si alguno dice a los hombres que no tiene conocimiento de mí, diré que no tengo conocimiento de él delante de los ángeles de Dios.

Mas el que me negare delante de los hombres, será negado delante de los ángeles de Dios.

But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

but he who denies me in the presence of men will be denied in the presence of God’s angels.

Y si alguno dice palabra contra el Hijo del hombre, tendrá perdón; pero al que blasfeme contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado.

Y todo aquel que dice palabra contra el Hijo del hombre, le será perdonado; mas al que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado.

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Y cuando los lleven delante de las sinagogas, de las autoridades y de los gobernantes, no se preocupen por cómo o que habrán de responder :

Y cuando os trajeren á las sinagogas, y á los magistrados y potestades, no estéis solícitos cómo ó qué hayáis de responder, ó qué hayáis de decir;

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer or what you will say;

Porque el Espíritu Santo les enseñará en esa misma hora qué deben de decir.

Porque el Espíritu Santo os enseñará en la misma hora lo que será necesario decir.

For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say.”

Y una de las personas en la multitud le dijo: Maestro, dale una orden a mi hermano para que haga la división de la herencia conmigo.

Y díjole uno de la compañía: Maestro, di á mi hermano que parta conmigo la herencia.

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

One of the multitude said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

Pero él dijo: Hombre, ¿quién me hizo juez o hacedor de decisiones por ti?

Mas él le dijo: Hombre, ¿quién me puso por juez ó partidor sobre vosotros?

And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”

Y les dijo: Tengan cuidado de mantenerse libres de la avaricia; porque la vida de un hombre no está compuesta de la cantidad de cosas que posee.

Y díjoles: Mirad, y guardaos de toda avaricia; porque la vida del hombre no consiste en la abundancia de los bienes que posee.

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

Y él les dijo a ellos, en una historia: La tierra de un hombre de gran riqueza era muy fértil:

Y refirióles una parábola, diciendo: La heredad de un hombre rico había llevado mucho;

And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man produced abundantly.

Y él se dijo a sí mismo: ¿Qué hay que hacer? porque no tengo lugar para poner toda mi fruta.

Y él pensaba dentro de sí, diciendo: ¿Qué haré, porque no tengo donde juntar mis frutos?

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’

Y él dijo: Esto haré: derribaré mis almacenes y haré otros mayores, y allí pondré todo mi frutos y mis bienes.

Y dijo: Esto haré: derribaré mis alfolíes, y los edificaré mayores, y allí juntaré todos mis frutos y mis bienes;

And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

Y le diré a mi alma, Alma, que tienes una gran cantidad de bienes almacenados, suficiente durante varios años; reposate, toma, come, y bebe y se feliz.

Y diré á mi alma: Alma, muchos bienes tienes almacenados para muchos años; repósate, come, bebe, huélgate.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”’

Pero Dios le dijo: Necio, esta noche vienen a pedirte tu alma, ¿y quién será el dueño de todas las cosas que has juntado?

Y díjole Dios: Necio, esta noche vuelven á pedir tu alma; y lo que has prevenido, ¿de quién será?

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

“But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’

Así que eso es lo que le llega al hombre que obtiene riqueza para sí mismo, y no tiene riqueza a los ojos de Dios.

Así es el que hace para sí tesoro, y no es rico en Dios.

So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

Y dijo a sus discípulos: Por lo cual les digo que no se afanen en sus vidas, qué comerán ni por el cuerpo, qué vestirán.

Y dijo á sus discípulos: Por tanto os digo: No estéis afanosos de vuestra vida, qué comeréis; ni del cuerpo, qué vestiréis.

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.

¿No es la vida más que alimento, y el cuerpo más que su ropa?

La vida más es que la comida, y el cuerpo que el vestido.

The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

Piensa en los cuervos; no ponen semillas en la tierra ni siegan; no tienen almacenes o edificios; y Dios les da su alimento: ¡cuánto más valiosos son ustedes que las aves!

Considerad los cuervos, que ni siembran, ni siegan; que ni tienen cillero, ni alfolí; y Dios los alimenta. ¿Cuánto de más estima sois vosotros que las aves?

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!

¿Y quién de ustedes, al afanarse, puede hacerse más alto?

¿Y quién de vosotros podrá con afán añadir á su estatura un codo?

And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?

Si, entonces, no pueden hacer ni siquiera lo que es menos, ¿por qué están preocupado por el resto?

Pues si no podéis aun lo que es menos, ¿para qué estaréis afanosos de lo demás?

If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

If then you aren’t able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?

Piensen en las flores: no trabajan, no hacen ningún hilo; y aún así les digo, incluso Salomón, en toda su gloria, no fue vestido como una de ellas.

Considerad los lirios, cómo crecen: no labran, ni hilan; y os digo, que ni Salomón con toda su gloria se vistió como uno de ellos.

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Pero si Dios da tal ropa a la hierba en el campo, que hoy está viva, y mañana será quemada en el horno, ¿cuánto más te dará ropa, hombres de poca fe?

Y si así viste Dios á la hierba, que hoy está en el campo, y mañana es echada en el horno; ¿cuánto más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?

If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?

Y no piensen demasiado en lu comida y bebida, y no dejen que su mente esté llena de dudas.

Vosotros, pues, no procuréis qué hayáis de comer, ó qué hayáis de beber; ni estéis en ansiosa perplejidad.

And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

“Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.

Porque todas estas cosas buscan las gentes del mundo; pero su Padre sabe que tienen necesidad de estas cosas.

Porque todas estas cosas buscan las gentes del mundo; que vuestro Padre sabe que necesitáis estas cosas.

For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.

Pero busca el reino de Dios, y estas otras cosas te serán dadas por añadidura.

Mas procurad el reino de Dios, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

No temas, pequeño rebaño, porque es un gran placer para su Padre darles el reino.

No temáis, manada pequeña; porque al Padre ha placido daros el reino.

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

Vendan la propiedad que tienen a cambio de dinero y den el dinero a los pobres; háganse bolsas de dinero que no envejecerán, riquezas almacenadas en el cielo que no se agota, donde ladrón no llega, ni gusano lo destruye.

Vended lo que poseéis, y dad limosna; haceos bolsas que no se envejecen, tesoro en los cielos que nunca falta; donde ladrón no llega, ni polilla corrompe.

Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Sell what you have and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

Porque donde están sus riquezas, allí estará su corazón.

Porque donde está vuestro tesoro, allí también estará vuestro corazón.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Prepárense, vestidos como para un viaje, con sus lámparas encendidas.

Estén ceñidos vuestros lomos, y vuestras antorchas encendidas;

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

“Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.

Sean como los hombres que buscan a su señor, cuando regrese de la fiesta de la novia; para que cuando llegue a la puerta, se le abra rápidamente.

Y vosotros semejantes á hombres que esperan cuando su señor ha de volver de las bodas; para que cuando viniere y llamare, luego le abran.

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

Be like men watching for their lord when he returns from the wedding feast, that when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.

Felices son aquellos siervos que están mirando cuando el señor viene; de verdad les digo, él se hará su sirviente, y hará que se sienten a a la mesa, él vendrá y les dará de comer.

Bienaventurados aquellos siervos, á los cuales cuando el Señor viniere, hallare velando: de cierto os digo, que se ceñirá, y hará que se sienten á la mesa, y pasando les servirá.

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

Blessed are those servants whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you that he will dress himself, make them recline, and will come and serve them.

Y si él viene en la segunda vigilia de la noche o en la tercera vigilia, y lo están esperando, felices son esos siervos.

Y aunque venga á la segunda vigilia, y aunque venga á la tercera vigilia, y los hallare así, bienaventurados son los tales siervos.

And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch and finds them so.

Pero sepan esto, que si el dueño de la casa hubiera tenido conocimiento del tiempo cuando el ladrón estaba llegando, él velaría, y no habría permitido que su casa fuera asaltada.

Esto empero sabed, que si supiese el padre de familia á qué hora había de venir el ladrón, velaría ciertamente, y no dejaría minar su casa.

And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

Así que estén preparados; porque el Hijo del Hombre vendrá en un momento en que no lo están esperando.

Vosotros pues también, estad apercibidos; porque á la hora que no pensáis, el Hijo del hombre vendrá.

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”

Y Pedro le dijo: Señor, ¿nos han dicho estas palabras solamente a nosotros, o a todos los hombres?

Entonces Pedro le dijo: Señor, ¿dices esta parábola á nosotros, ó también á todos?

Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”

Y el Señor dijo: ¿Quién es entonces el siervo sabio y responsable a quien su señor pondrá en control de su familia, para darles su alimento a su debido tiempo?

Y dijo el Señor: ¿Quién es el mayordomo fiel y prudente, al cual el señor pondrá sobre su familia, para que á tiempo les dé su ración?

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times?

Feliz es ese siervo que, cuando viene su señor, lo halle haciendo así.

Bienaventurado aquel siervo, al cual, cuando el señor viniere, hallare haciendo así.

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Blessed is that servant whom his lord will find doing so when he comes.

De cierto les digo, él le pondrá al mando de todos sus bienes.

En verdad os digo, que él le pondrá sobre todos sus bienes.

Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

Truly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.

Pero si ese siervo se dice a sí mismo: Mi señor tardará en llegar; y comenzare a golpear a los hombres-sirvientes y siervas, festejando y tomando mucho vino;

Mas si el tal siervo dijere en su corazón: Mi señor tarda en venir: y comenzare á herir á los siervos y á las criadas, y á comer y á beber y á embriagarse;

But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink and to be drunken,

El señor de ese siervo vendrá en un momento en que no lo está esperando, y a la hora en que no está preparado para él, y lo castigará duramente, y le pondrá con los infieles;

Vendrá el señor de aquel siervo el día que no espera, y á la hora que no sabe, y le apartará, y pondrá su parte con los infieles.

The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.

Y el siervo que tenía conocimiento de los deseos de su señor y no estaba preparado para él y no hizo como se le ordenó, recibirá un gran número de golpes;

Porque el siervo que entendió la voluntad de su señor, y no se apercibió, ni hizo conforme á su voluntad, será azotado mucho.

And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

That servant who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,

Pero aquel que, sin conocimiento, hizo cosas por las cuales se le da un castigo, recibirá sólo un pequeño número de golpes. El hombre a quien se le da mucho, mucho se le demandará; y al que mucho se le haya confiado, más se le pedirá.

Mas el que no entendió, é hizo cosas dignas de azotes, será azotado poco: porque á cualquiera que fué dado mucho, mucho será vuelto á demandar de él; y al que encomendaron mucho, más le será pedido.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

Vine a echar fuego sobre la tierra, ¿Y que quiero, si ya se ha encendido?

Fuego vine á meter en la tierra: ¿y qué quiero, si ya está encendido?

I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

“I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.

Pero hay un bautismo que tengo que sufrir; y cómo me angustio hasta que se cumpla!

Empero de bautismo me es necesario ser bautizado: y ¡cómo me angustio hasta que sea cumplido!

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

¿Es tu opinión que he venido a dar paz en la tierra? Les digo, no, sino división:

¿Pensáis que he venido á la tierra á dar paz? No, os digo; mas disensión.

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.

Porque a partir de este momento, una familia de cinco en una casa estará en lados opuestos, tres contra dos y dos contra tres.

Porque estarán de aquí adelante cinco en una casa divididos; tres contra dos, y dos contra tres.

For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

Ellos estarán en guerra, el padre contra su hijo, y el hijo contra su padre; madre contra hija e hija contra madre; suegra contra nuera y nuera contra suegra.

El padre estará dividido contra el hijo, y el hijo contra el padre; la madre contra la hija, y la hija contra la madre; la suegra contra su nuera, y la nuera contra su suegra.

The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Entonces dijo al pueblo: Cuando ves una nube que viene hacia el oeste, dijiste: Habrá lluvia; y así es.

Y decía también á las gentes: Cuando veis la nube que sale del poniente, luego decís: Agua viene; y es así.

And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.

Y cuando ves un viento del sur que sopla, dices: Habrá calor; y así es.

Y cuando sopla el austro, decís: Habrá calor; y lo hay.

And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.

¡Hipócritas! saben distinguir la faz del cielo y de la tierra; ¿Cómo es que no distinguen este tiempo en que viven?

¡Hipócritas! Sabéis examinar la faz del cielo y de la tierra; ¿y cómo no reconocéis este tiempo?

Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?

¿Y por qué ustedes, en sus corazones, no pueden ser jueces de lo que es correcto?

¿Y por qué aun de vosotros mismos no juzgáis lo que es justo?

Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

“Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

Porque si alguno tiene una causa contra ti, y tú vas con él delante del magistrado, haz un intento, en el camino, de llegar a un acuerdo con él, porque si no lo haces, él puede llevarte ante el juez y el juez te entregarán a la policía, y te pondrán en prisión.

Pues cuando vas al magistrado con tu adversario, procura en el camino librarte de él; porque no te arrastre al juez, y el juez te entregue al alguacil, y el alguacil te meta en la cárcel.

When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
