Lucas 12

Enquanto isso, as multidões cresciam até o ponto de milhares de pessoas estarem se atropelando e pisando umas nas outras. Então Jesus voltou-se para os seus discípulos e os advertiu: “Mais do que qualquer outra coisa, tomem cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus, isto é, com a hipocrisia.

EN esto, juntándose muchas gentes, tanto que unos á otros se hollaban, comenzó á decir á sus discípulos, primeramente: Guardaos de la levadura de los Fariseos, que es hipocresía.

In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Não há nada escondido que não venha a ser descoberto, ou o que está oculto que não venha a ser conhecido.

Porque nada hay encubierto, que no haya de ser descubierto; ni oculto, que no haya de ser sabido.

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.

Tudo o que foi dito no escuro, será ouvido na claridade, e o que se sussurrou dentro de casa, será anunciado dos telhados, para que todos ouçam!

Por tanto, las cosas que dijisteis en tinieblas, á la luz serán oídas; y lo que hablasteis al oído en las cámaras, será pregonado en los terrados.

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

“Queridos amigos, não tenham medo dos que podem matar o corpo, mas depois não podem fazer mais.

Mas os digo, amigos míos: No temáis de los que matan el cuerpo, y después no tienen más que hacer.

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

“I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

Porém eu lhes direi a quem temer: Temam aquele que, depois de matar o corpo, tem poder de lançar a pessoa no inferno. Sim, eu repito, esse vocês devem temer.

Mas os enseñaré á quién temáis: temed á aquel que después de haber quitado la vida, tiene poder de echar en la Gehenna: así os digo: á éste temed.

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

Qual é o preço de cinco pardais? Não são duas moedinhas? Mesmo assim, Deus não esquece nem um só deles.

¿No se venden cinco pajarillos por dos blancas? pues ni uno de ellos está olvidado delante de Dios.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

“Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God.

Ele sabe até o número dos cabelos da cabeça de vocês! Nunca tenham medo, pois vocês valem muito mais para ele do que muitos pardais.

Y aun los cabellos de vuestra cabeza están todos contados. No temáis pues: de más estima sois que muchos pajarillos.

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

“Eu lhes garanto: Quem me confessar diante das pessoas, também o Filho do Homem o confessará diante dos anjos de Deus.

Y os digo que todo aquel que me confesare delante de los hombres, también el Hijo del hombre le confesará delante de los ángeles de Dios;

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

“I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God;

Porém aqueles que me negarem aqui diante das pessoas, serão negados diante dos anjos de Deus.

Mas el que me negare delante de los hombres, será negado delante de los ángeles de Dios.

But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

but he who denies me in the presence of men will be denied in the presence of God’s angels.

Aqueles que falam contra mim podem ser perdoados, mas os que falam contra o Espírito Santo não serão perdoados.

Y todo aquel que dice palabra contra el Hijo del hombre, le será perdonado; mas al que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado.

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

“E, quando vocês forem levados à presença destes governantes judaicos e das autoridades das sinagogas, não se preocupem com o que dizer em sua defesa.

Y cuando os trajeren á las sinagogas, y á los magistrados y potestades, no estéis solícitos cómo ó qué hayáis de responder, ó qué hayáis de decir;

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer or what you will say;

Porquanto o Espírito Santo lhes dará as palavras certas no momento oportuno”.

Porque el Espíritu Santo os enseñará en la misma hora lo que será necesario decir.

For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say.”

Então alguém gritou no meio da multidão: “Mestre, por favor, diga ao meu irmão que divida comigo a herança do meu pai”.

Y díjole uno de la compañía: Maestro, di á mi hermano que parta conmigo la herencia.

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

One of the multitude said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

Mas Jesus respondeu: “Homem, quem me pôs como juiz sobre vocês para decidir coisas assim?

Mas él le dijo: Hombre, ¿quién me puso por juez ó partidor sobre vosotros?

And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”

Cuidado! Não andem sempre querendo o que vocês não têm. Porque o valor da vida que alguém tem não depende da quantidade de bens que possui”.

Y díjoles: Mirad, y guardaos de toda avaricia; porque la vida del hombre no consiste en la abundancia de los bienes que posee.

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

Então contou a seguinte parábola: “Um homem rico tinha uma fazenda que deu boas colheitas.

Y refirióles una parábola, diciendo: La heredad de un hombre rico había llevado mucho;

And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man produced abundantly.

Com isso seus depósitos ficaram cheios, e ele não tinha mais onde colocar a sua colheita. O homem pensou no seu problema. ‘Que devo fazer?’

Y él pensaba dentro de sí, diciendo: ¿Qué haré, porque no tengo donde juntar mis frutos?

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’

“Finalmente exclamou: ‘Já sei o que vou fazer. Derrubarei os meus celeiros e construirei outros maiores! Assim terei espaço suficiente para guardar tudo.

Y dijo: Esto haré: derribaré mis alfolíes, y los edificaré mayores, y allí juntaré todos mis frutos y mis bienes;

And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

Depois eu vou descansar e dizer para mim mesmo: Amigo, você guardou o suficiente para os anos futuros. Agora, sim! Descanse, coma, beba e alegre-se’.

Y diré á mi alma: Alma, muchos bienes tienes almacenados para muchos años; repósate, come, bebe, huélgate.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”’

“Mas Deus lhe disse: ‘Louco! Você morrerá esta noite. E então, quem ficará com tudo que você preparou?’

Y díjole Dios: Necio, esta noche vuelven á pedir tu alma; y lo que has prevenido, ¿de quién será?

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

“But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’

“Sim, assim acontece com todo aquele que junta riquezas para si mesmo, mas não é rico para com Deus”.

Así es el que hace para sí tesoro, y no es rico en Dios.

So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

Então, voltando-se para os seus discípulos, disse: “É por isso que eu digo a vocês: Não se preocupem com a vida quanto ao que comer ou com o corpo quanto às roupas para vestir.

Y dijo á sus discípulos: Por tanto os digo: No estéis afanosos de vuestra vida, qué comeréis; ni del cuerpo, qué vestiréis.

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.

Porque a vida é muito mais importante do que a comida, e o corpo, mais importante do que as roupas.

La vida más es que la comida, y el cuerpo que el vestido.

The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

Olhem para os corvos; eles não plantam, não colhem, nem têm depósitos para guardar seu alimento, e mesmo assim passam bem; pois Deus cuida deles. E vocês valem muito mais para Deus do que as aves!

Considerad los cuervos, que ni siembran, ni siegan; que ni tienen cillero, ni alfolí; y Dios los alimenta. ¿Cuánto de más estima sois vosotros que las aves?

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!

Além disso, qual é a vantagem de preocupar-se? Que bem faz? Quem de vocês por mais que se preocupe pode acrescentar um dia sequer à vida de vocês?

¿Y quién de vosotros podrá con afán añadir á su estatura un codo?

And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?

E se a preocupação não pode nem mesmo fazer coisas tão pequenas, qual é a vantagem de preocupar-se com coisas maiores?

Pues si no podéis aun lo que es menos, ¿para qué estaréis afanosos de lo demás?

If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

If then you aren’t able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?

“Olhem para os lírios! Eles não trabalham nem tecem, e nem Salomão em toda a sua glória se vestiu como eles.

Considerad los lirios, cómo crecen: no labran, ni hilan; y os digo, que ni Salomón con toda su gloria se vistió como uno de ellos.

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Se Deus dá esta roupagem para as flores que hoje estão aqui e amanhã desaparecem e são lançadas no fogo, vocês não acham que ele proverá roupa para vocês, homens de pequena fé?

Y si así viste Dios á la hierba, que hoy está en el campo, y mañana es echada en el horno; ¿cuánto más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?

If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?

Não se preocupem com o que comer e o que beber; não se preocupem com nada.

Vosotros, pues, no procuréis qué hayáis de comer, ó qué hayáis de beber; ni estéis en ansiosa perplejidad.

And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

“Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.

A humanidade cansa-se em correr atrás da comida de cada dia, mas o Pai celeste conhece as necessidades de todos.

Porque todas estas cosas buscan las gentes del mundo; que vuestro Padre sabe que necesitáis estas cosas.

For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.

Busquem, pois, em primeiro lugar o Reino de Deus, e ele lhes dará todas essas coisas.

Mas procurad el reino de Dios, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.

“Portanto, não tenha medo, pequeno rebanho, porque é uma grande felicidade para o Pai dar o Reino a vocês.

No temáis, manada pequeña; porque al Padre ha placido daros el reino.

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.

Vendam o que têm e deem aos que estão em necessidade. Isto aumentará seus tesouros no céu, onde não há ladrão para roubar, nem traça para destruir.

Vended lo que poseéis, y dad limosna; haceos bolsas que no se envejecen, tesoro en los cielos que nunca falta; donde ladrón no llega, ni polilla corrompe.

Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Sell what you have and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

Pois, onde estiver o seu tesouro, ali estará também o seu coração.

Porque donde está vuestro tesoro, allí también estará vuestro corazón.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

“Estejam preparados para servir, e conservem acesas as suas lamparinas,

Estén ceñidos vuestros lomos, y vuestras antorchas encendidas;

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

“Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.

para quando o Senhor voltar da festa de casamento. Assim poderão abrir a porta e deixá-lo entrar no momento em que ele chegar e bater.

Y vosotros semejantes á hombres que esperan cuando su señor ha de volver de las bodas; para que cuando viniere y llamare, luego le abran.

And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

Be like men watching for their lord when he returns from the wedding feast, that when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.

Felizes os servos que estiverem prontos, esperando a volta dele. Eu lhes afirmo que ele colocará todos à mesa, e se vestirá para servi-los.

Bienaventurados aquellos siervos, á los cuales cuando el Señor viniere, hallare velando: de cierto os digo, que se ceñirá, y hará que se sienten á la mesa, y pasando les servirá.

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

Blessed are those servants whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you that he will dress himself, make them recline, and will come and serve them.

Ele pode vir às nove horas da noite, ou até à meia-noite. Porém, felizes são os servos que o senhor encontrar prontos!

Y aunque venga á la segunda vigilia, y aunque venga á la tercera vigilia, y los hallare así, bienaventurados son los tales siervos.

And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch and finds them so.

Lembrem-se disto: Se o dono da casa soubesse a que horas o ladrão viria, não o deixaria arrombar a porta.

Esto empero sabed, que si supiese el padre de familia á qué hora había de venir el ladrón, velaría ciertamente, y no dejaría minar su casa.

And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.

Portanto, estejam sempre preparados; pois o Filho do Homem virá quando menos se esperar”.

Vosotros pues también, estad apercibidos; porque á la hora que no pensáis, el Hijo del hombre vendrá.

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”

Pedro perguntou: “O Senhor está contando esta parábola só a nós, ou para todos?”

Entonces Pedro le dijo: Señor, ¿dices esta parábola á nosotros, ó también á todos?

Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”

E o Senhor respondeu: “Estou falando a qualquer homem fiel e ajuizado, cujo patrão lhe dá a responsabilidade de alimentar os outros servos.

Y dijo el Señor: ¿Quién es el mayordomo fiel y prudente, al cual el señor pondrá sobre su familia, para que á tiempo les dé su ración?

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times?

Se o seu patrão voltar e verificar que ele fez um bom trabalho,

Bienaventurado aquel siervo, al cual, cuando el señor viniere, hallare haciendo así.

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Blessed is that servant whom his lord will find doing so when he comes.

haverá uma recompensa: seu patrão o encarregará de todos os seus bens.

En verdad os digo, que él le pondrá sobre todos sus bienes.

Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

Truly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.

Mas, se o homem começar a pensar: ‘Meu senhor não voltará tão cedo’, e começar a bater nos servos e servas, e a gastar o tempo com festas e bebedeira,

Mas si el tal siervo dijere en su corazón: Mi señor tarda en venir: y comenzare á herir á los siervos y á las criadas, y á comer y á beber y á embriagarse;

But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink and to be drunken,

o seu senhor voltará sem aviso e o afastará do seu cargo de confiança, e o castigará severamente.

Vendrá el señor de aquel siervo el día que no espera, y á la hora que no sabe, y le apartará, y pondrá su parte con los infieles.

The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.

“Aquele servo que conhece a vontade do seu patrão e não se prepara e não faz o que ele quer, será castigado com muitos açoites.

Porque el siervo que entendió la voluntad de su señor, y no se apercibió, ni hizo conforme á su voluntad, será azotado mucho.

And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

That servant who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,

Mas todo aquele que sabe que a sua conduta é má, será castigado com poucos açoites. A quem muito é dado, muito será exigido; e a quem foi confiado muito, deste muito mais será pedido.

Mas el que no entendió, é hizo cosas dignas de azotes, será azotado poco: porque á cualquiera que fué dado mucho, mucho será vuelto á demandar de él; y al que encomendaron mucho, más le será pedido.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

“Eu vim lançar fogo à terra, e gostaria que já estivesse aceso.

Fuego vine á meter en la tierra: ¿y qué quiero, si ya está encendido?

I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

“I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.

Há um terrível batismo diante de mim, e como eu me sinto aflito até que tudo se realize!

Empero de bautismo me es necesario ser bautizado: y ¡cómo me angustio hasta que sea cumplido!

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

Vocês pensam que vim trazer paz à terra? Não! Pelo contrário, vim trazer divisão!

¿Pensáis que he venido á la tierra á dar paz? No, os digo; mas disensión.

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.

De agora em diante famílias inteiras se dividirão: três contra dois e dois contra três.

Porque estarán de aquí adelante cinco en una casa divididos; tres contra dos, y dos contra tres.

For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

Os pais ficarão contra os filhos, e os filhos, contra os pais. As mães ficarão contra as filhas, e as filhas, contra as mães. As sogras ficarão contra as noras, e as noras, contra as sogras”.

El padre estará dividido contra el hijo, y el hijo contra el padre; la madre contra la hija, y la hija contra la madre; la suegra contra su nuera, y la nuera contra su suegra.

The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Então ele voltou-se para a multidão e disse: “Quando vocês veem as nuvens começando a formar-se no ocidente, logo dizem: ‘Vai chover’. E têm razão.

Y decía también á las gentes: Cuando veis la nube que sale del poniente, luego decís: Agua viene; y es así.

And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.

Quando sopra o vento sul, vocês dizem: ‘Hoje vai fazer calor’. E assim ocorre.

Y cuando sopla el austro, decís: Habrá calor; y lo hay.

And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.

Hipócritas! Vocês interpretam o céu tão bem, mas não sabem interpretar o tempo presente.

¡Hipócritas! Sabéis examinar la faz del cielo y de la tierra; ¿y cómo no reconocéis este tiempo?

Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?

“Por que se recusam a ver por si mesmos o que é correto?

¿Y por qué aun de vosotros mismos no juzgáis lo que es justo?

Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

“Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?
