1Or en ce même temps, quelques-uns se trouvaient là présents, qui lui racontèrent [ce qui s’était passé] touchant les Galiléens dont Pilate avait mêlé le sang avec leurs sacrifices.
2Et [Jésus], répondant, leur dit : Croyez-vous que ces Galiléens étaient plus pécheurs que tous les Galiléens, parce qu’ils ont souffert de telles choses ?
3Non, vous dis-je ; mais si vous ne vous repentez, vous périrez tous de la même manière.
4Ou, ces 18 sur qui tomba la tour dans Siloé, et qu’elle tua, croyez-vous qu’ils étaient plus coupables que tous les hommes qui habitent Jérusalem ?
5Non, vous dis-je ; mais si vous ne vous repentez, vous périrez tous pareillement.
6Et il disait cette parabole : Quelqu’un avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne ; et il vint y chercher du fruit, et il n’en trouva point.
7Et il dit au vigneron : Voici trois ans que je viens chercher du fruit sur ce figuier, et je n’en trouve point : coupe-le ; pourquoi aussi occupe-t-il inutilement la terre ?
8Et répondant, il lui dit : Maître, laisse-le cette année aussi, jusqu’à ce que je l’aie déchaussé et que j’y aie mis du fumier ;
9et peut-être portera-t-il du fruit : sinon, après, tu le couperas.
10Or il enseignait dans l’une des synagogues en un jour de sabbat.
11Et voici, il y avait là une femme ayant un esprit d’infirmité depuis 18 ans, et elle était courbée et ne pouvait nullement se redresser.
12Et Jésus, la voyant, l’appela et lui dit : Femme, tu es délivrée de ton infirmité.
13Et il posa les mains sur elle : et à l’instant elle fut redressée, et glorifiait Dieu.
14Et le chef de synagogue, indigné de ce que Jésus avait guéri, un jour de sabbat, répondant, dit à la foule : Il y a six jours où il faut travailler ; venez donc ces jours-là, et soyez guéris, et non pas le jour du sabbat.
15Le Seigneur donc lui répondit, et dit : Hypocrites ! chacun de vous ne détache-t-il pas de la crèche son bœuf ou son âne un jour de sabbat, et ne les mène-t-il pas boire ?
16Et celle-ci qui est fille d’Abraham, laquelle Satan avait liée, voici, il y a 18 ans, ne fallait-il pas la délier de ce lien le jour du sabbat ?
17Et comme il disait ces choses, tous ses adversaires furent couverts de honte ; et toute la foule se réjouissait de toutes les choses glorieuses qui étaient faites par lui.
18Et il disait : À quoi est semblable le royaume de Dieu, et à quoi le comparerai-je ?
19Il est semblable à un grain de moutarde qu’un homme prit et jeta dans son jardin ; et il crût et devint un grand arbre, et les oiseaux du ciel demeuraient dans ses branches.
20Et il dit encore : À quoi comparerai-je le royaume de Dieu ?
21Il est semblable à du levain qu’une femme prit, et qu’elle cacha parmi trois mesures de farine, jusqu’à ce que tout soit levé.
22Et il allait par les villes et par les villages, enseignant, et poursuivant son chemin vers Jérusalem.
23Et quelqu’un lui dit : Seigneur, ceux qui doivent être sauvés sont-ils en petit nombre ? Et il leur dit :
24Luttez pour entrer par la porte étroite ; car beaucoup, je vous le dis, chercheront à entrer et ne pourront pas.
25Dès que le maître de la maison se sera levé, et aura fermé la porte, et que vous vous serez mis à vous tenir dehors et à heurter à la porte, en disant : Seigneur, ouvre-nous ! et que, répondant, il vous dira : Je ne vous connais pas [ni ne sais] d’où vous êtes ;
26alors vous vous mettrez à dire : Nous avons mangé et bu en ta présence, et tu as enseigné dans nos rues.
27Et il dira : Je vous dis, je ne vous connais pas, [ni ne sais] d’où vous êtes ; retirez-vous de moi, vous tous, ouvriers d’iniquité.
28Là seront les pleurs et les grincements de dents, quand vous verrez Abraham et Isaac et Jacob et tous les prophètes dans le royaume de Dieu, mais vous, jetés dehors.
29Et il en viendra d’orient et d’occident, et du nord et du midi ; et ils s’assiéront dans le royaume de Dieu.
30Et voici, il y a des derniers qui seront les premiers, et il y a des premiers qui seront les derniers.
31En ce même jour, des pharisiens vinrent, lui disant : Retire-toi et va-t’en d’ici ; car Hérode veut te tuer.
32Et il leur dit : Allez, dites à ce renard : Voici, je chasse des démons et j’accomplis des guérisons aujourd’hui et demain, et le troisième jour je suis consommé.
33Mais il faut que je marche aujourd’hui et demain et le jour suivant, car il ne se peut qu’un prophète périsse hors de Jérusalem.
34Jérusalem, Jérusalem, [la ville] qui tue les prophètes et qui lapide ceux qui lui sont envoyés, que de fois j’ai voulu rassembler tes enfants, comme une poule sa couvée sous ses ailes, et vous ne l’avez pas voulu !
35Voici, votre maison vous est abandonnée ; et je vous dis, que vous ne me verrez point jusqu’à ce qu’il arrive que vous disiez : Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du ✶Seigneur !

1Y EN este mismo tiempo estaban allí unos que le contaban acerca de los Galileos, cuya sangre Pilato había mezclado con sus sacrificios.
2Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Pensáis que estos Galileos, porque han padecido tales cosas, hayan sido más pecadores que todos los Galileos?
3No, os digo; antes si no os arrepintiereis, todos pereceréis igualmente.
4O aquellos dieciocho, sobre los cuales cayó la torre en Siloé, y los mató, ¿pensáis que ellos fueron más deudores que todos los hombres que habitan en Jerusalem?
5No, os digo; antes si no os arrepintiereis, todos pereceréis asimismo.
6Y dijo esta parábola: Tenía uno una higuera plantada en su viña, y vino á buscar fruto en ella, y no lo halló.
7Y dijo al viñero: He aquí tres años ha que vengo á buscar fruto en esta higuera, y no lo hallo; córtala, ¿por qué ocupará aún la tierra?
8El entonces respondiendo, le dijo: Señor, déjala aún este año, hasta que la excave, y estercole.
9Y si hiciere fruto, bien; y si no, la cortarás después.
10Y enseñaba en una sinagoga en sábado.
11Y he aquí una mujer que tenía espíritu de enfermedad dieciocho años, y andaba agobiada, que en ninguna manera se podía enhestar.
12Y como Jesús la vió, llamóla, y díjole: Mujer, libre eres de tu enfermedad.
13Y puso las manos sobre ella; y luego se enderezó, y glorificaba á Dios.
14Y respondiendo el príncipe de la sinagoga, enojado de que Jesús hubiese curado en sábado, dijo á la compañía: Seis días hay en que es necesario obrar: en estos, pues, venid y sed curados, y no en día de sábado.
15Entonces el Señor le respondió, y dijo: Hipócrita, cada uno de vosotros ¿no desata en sábado su buey ó su asno del pesebre, y lo lleva á beber?
16Y á esta hija de Abraham, que he aquí Satanás la había ligado dieciocho años, ¿no convino desatarla de esta ligadura en día de sábado?
17Y diciendo estas cosas, se avergonzaban todos sus adversarios: mas todo el pueblo se gozaba de todas las cosas gloriosas que eran por él hechas.
18Y dijo: ¿A qué es semejante el reino de Dios, y á qué le compararé?
19Semejante es al grano de la mostaza, que tomándolo un hombre lo metió en su huerto; y creció, y fué hecho árbol grande, y las aves del cielo hicieron nidos en sus ramas.
20Y otra vez dijo: ¿A qué compararé el reino de Dios?
21Semejante es á la levadura, que tomó una mujer, y la escondió en tres medidas de harina, hasta que todo hubo fermentado.
22Y pasaba por todas las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando, y caminando á Jerusalem.
23Y díjole uno: Señor, ¿son pocos los que se salvan? Y él les dijo:
24Porfiad á entrar por la puerta angosta; porque os digo que muchos procurarán entrar, y no podrán.
25Después que el padre de familia se levantare, y cerrare la puerta, y comenzareis á estar fuera, y llamar á la puerta, diciendo: Señor, Señor, ábrenos; y respondiendo os dirá: No os conozco de dónde seáis.
26Entonces comenzaréis á decir: Delante de ti hemos comido y bebido, y en nuestras plazas enseñaste;
27Y os dirá: Dígoos que no os conozco de dónde seáis; apartaos de mí todos los obreros de iniquidad.
28Allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes, cuando viereis á Abraham, y á Isaac, y á Jacob, y á todos los profetas en el reino de Dios, y vosotros excluídos.
29Y vendrán del Oriente y del Occidente, del Norte y del Mediodía, y se sentarán á la mesa en el reino de Dios.
30Y he aquí, son postreros los que eran los primeros; y son primeros los que eran los postreros.
31Aquel mismo día llegaron unos de los Fariseos, diciéndole: Sal, y vete de aquí, porque Herodes te quiere matar.
32Y les dijo: Id, y decid á aquella zorra: He aquí, echo fuera demonios y acabo sanidades hoy y mañana, y al tercer día soy consumado.
33Empero es menester que hoy, y mañana, y pasado mañana camine; porque no es posible que profeta muera fuera de Jerusalem.
34¡Jerusalem, Jerusalem! que matas á los profetas, y apedreas á los que son enviados á ti: ¡cuántas veces quise juntar tus hijos, como la gallina sus pollos debajo de sus alas, y no quisiste!
35He aquí, os es dejada vuestra casa desierta: y os digo que no me veréis, hasta que venga tiempo cuando digáis: Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor.

1There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilæans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilæans were sinners above all the Galilæans, because they suffered such things?
3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
6He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
10And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
11And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
12And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
19It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
20And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
22And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
29And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
31The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.
32And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
33Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
34O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
World English Bible
1Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
4Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them—do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?
5I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”
6He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
7He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down! Why does it waste the soil?’
8He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
9If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”
10He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.
11Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up.
12When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”
13He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
14The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
15Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?
16Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
17As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
19It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
20Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
21It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
22He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.
23One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,
24“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.
25When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
27He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
28There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.

32He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
33Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’
34“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
35Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
