Y en este mismo tiempo estaban allí unos que le contaban de los Galileos, cuya sangre Pilato había mezclado con sus sacrificios.

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Pensáis que estos Galileos, porque han padecido tales cosas, hayan sido más pecadores que todos los Galileos?

O aquellos diez y ocho, sobre los cuales cayó la torre en Siloé, y los mató, ¿pensáis que ellos fueron más deudores que todos los hombres que habitan en Jerusalem?

Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

Y dijo al viñero: He aquí, tres años ha que vengo a buscar fruto en esta higuera, y no lo hallo: córtala, ¿por qué hará inútil aun la tierra?

Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down! Why does it waste the soil?’

Él entonces respondiendo, le dijo: Señor, déjala aun este año, hasta que yo la escave, y la estercole.

And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.

Y si hiciere fruto, bien; y si no, la cortarás después.

And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”

¶ Y enseñaba en una sinagoga en sábados.

And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

Y como Jesús la vio, la llamó, y le dijo: Mujer, libre eres de tu enfermedad.

And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

Y respondiendo un príncipe de la sinagoga, enojado de que Jesús hubiese curado en sábado, dijo al pueblo: Seis días hay en que es menester obrar: en estos pues veníd, y sed curados; y no en día de sábado.

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”

Entonces el Señor le respondió, y dijo: Hipócrita, ¿cada uno de vosotros no desata en sábado su buey, o su asno del pesebre, y le lleva a beber?

The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?

Y a esta hija de Abraham, que he aquí, que Satanás la había ligado diez y ocho años, ¿no convino desatarla de esta ligadura en día de sábado?

And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”

Y diciendo él estas cosas, se avergonzaban todos sus adversarios; y todo el pueblo se regocijaba de todas las cosas que gloriosamente eran por él hechas.

And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

¶ Y decía: ¿A qué es semejante el reino de Dios, y a qué le compararé?

Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?

He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?

Semejante es al grano de la mostaza, que tomándole un hombre le metió en su huerto; y creció, y fue hecho árbol grande, y las aves del cielo hicieron nidos en sus ramas.

Semejante es a la levadura, que tomándola una mujer, la esconde en tres medidas de harina hasta que todo sea leudado.

It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

¶ Y pasaba por todas las ciudades y aldeas enseñando, y caminando a Jerusalem.

And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Después que el padre de familias se levantare, y cerrare la puerta, y comenzaréis a estar fuera, y tocar a la puerta, diciendo: Señor, Señor, ábrenos; y respondiendo él, os dirá: No os conozco de donde seáis.

When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

Entonces comenzaréis a decir: Delante de ti hemos comido y bebido, y en nuestras plazas enseñaste.

Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

Y os dirá: Dígoos, que no os conozco de donde seáis: apartáos de mí todos los obreros de iniquidad.

But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’

Allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes, cuando viereis a Abraham, y a Isaac, y a Jacob, y a todos los profetas en el reino de Dios, y vosotros ser echados fuera.

Allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes, cuando viereis á Abraham, y á Isaac, y á Jacob, y á todos los profetas en el reino de Dios, y vosotros excluídos.

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.

Y vendrán del oriente, y del occidente, y del norte, y del mediodía, y se sentarán en el reino de Dios.

And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

¶ Aquel mismo día llegaron unos de los Fariseos, diciéndole: Sal, y vete de aquí; porque Heródes te quiere matar.

The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.

On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”

Y les dijo: Id, y decíd a aquella zorra: He aquí, echo fuera demonios y acabo sanidades hoy y mañana, y trasmañana soy consumado.

And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.

Empero es menester que hoy, y mañana, y trasmañana camine; porque no es posible que un profeta muera fuera de Jerusalem.

Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

¡Jerusalem, Jerusalem! que matas los profetas, y apedreas los que son enviados a ti, ¡cuántas veces quise juntar tus hijos, como la gallina recoge su nidada debajo de sus alas, y no quisiste!

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!

He aquí, os es dejada vuestra casa desierta; y os digo, que no me veréis, hasta que venga tiempo cuando digáis: Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor.
