Lucas 13

En este mismo tiempo vinieron algunos, y contaron a Jesús lo que había sucedido a unos galileos, cuya sangre mezcló Pilatos con la de los sacrificios que ellos ofrecían.

Y EN este mismo tiempo estaban allí unos que le contaban acerca de los Galileos, cuya sangre Pilato había mezclado con sus sacrificios.

There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilæans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

Sobre lo cual les respondió Jesús : ¿Pensáis que aquellos galileos eran entre todos los demás de Galilea los mayores pecadores, porque fueron castigados de esta manera?

Y respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Pensáis que estos Galileos, porque han padecido tales cosas, hayan sido más pecadores que todos los Galileos?

And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilæans were sinners above all the Galilæans, because they suffered such things?

Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?

Os aseguro que no; si vosotros no hiciereis penitencia, todos pereceréis igualmente.

No, os digo; antes si no os arrepintiereis, todos pereceréis igualmente.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.

Como también aquellos dieciocho hombres, sobre los cuales cayó la torre de Siloé, y los mató, ¿pensáis que fuesen los más culpados de todos los moradores de Jerusalén ?

O aquellos dieciocho, sobre los cuales cayó la torre en Siloé, y los mató, ¿pensáis que ellos fueron más deudores que todos los hombres que habitan en Jerusalem?

Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them—do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?

Os digo que no; mas si vosotros no hiciereis penitencia, todos pereceréis igualmente.

No, os digo; antes si no os arrepintiereis, todos pereceréis asimismo.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”

Y les añadió esta parábola: Un hombre tenía plantada una higuera en su viña, y vino a ella en busca de fruto, y no lo halló;

Y dijo esta parábola: Tenía uno una higuera plantada en su viña, y vino á buscar fruto en ella, y no lo halló.

He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.

por lo que dijo al viñador: Ya ves que hace tres años seguidos que vengo a buscar fruto en esta higuera, y no lo hallo; córtala, pues; ¿para qué ocupará terreno gratis?

Y dijo al viñero: He aquí tres años ha que vengo á buscar fruto en esta higuera, y no lo hallo; córtala, ¿por qué ocupará aún la tierra?

Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down! Why does it waste the soil?’

Pero él respondió: Señor, déjala todavía este año, y cavaré alrededor de ella, y le echaré estiércol,

El entonces respondiendo, le dijo: Señor, déjala aún este año, hasta que la excave, y estercole.

And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.

a ver si así dará fruto; cuando no, entonces la harás cortar.

Y si hiciere fruto, bien; y si no, la cortarás después.

And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”

Enseñando Jesús un día de sábado en la sinagoga,

Y enseñaba en una sinagoga en sábado.

And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.

he aquí que vino allí una mujer, que por espacio de dieciocho años padecía una enfermedad causada de un maligno espíritu; y andaba encorvada, sin poder mirar poco ni mucho hacia arriba.

Y he aquí una mujer que tenía espíritu de enfermedad dieciocho años, y andaba agobiada, que en ninguna manera se podía enhestar.

And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up.

Cuando la vio Jesús , la llamó a sí, y le dijo: Mujer, libre quedas de tu achaque.

Y como Jesús la vió, llamóla, y díjole: Mujer, libre eres de tu enfermedad.

And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”

Puso sobre ella las manos, y se enderezó al momento, y daba gracias y alabanzas a Dios.

Y puso las manos sobre ella; y luego se enderezó, y glorificaba á Dios.

And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.

El jefe de la sinagoga, indignado de que Jesús hiciera esta cura en sábado dijo al pueblo: Seis días hay destinados al trabajo; en ésos podéis venir a curaros, y no en el día de sábado.

Y respondiendo el príncipe de la sinagoga, enojado de que Jesús hubiese curado en sábado, dijo á la compañía: Seis días hay en que es necesario obrar: en estos, pues, venid y sed curados, y no en día de sábado.

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”

Mas el Señor, dirigiéndole a él la palabra, dijo: ¡Hipócritas!, ¿cada uno de vosotros no suelta su buey o su asno del pesebre, aunque sea sábado, y los lleva a abrevar?

Entonces el Señor le respondió, y dijo: Hipócrita, cada uno de vosotros ¿no desata en sábado su buey ó su asno del pesebre, y lo lleva á beber?

The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?

Y a esta hija de Abrahán, a quien, como veis, ha tenido atada Satanás por espacio de dieciocho años, ¿no será permitido desatarla de estos lazos en día de sábado?

Y á esta hija de Abraham, que he aquí Satanás la había ligado dieciocho años, ¿no convino desatarla de esta ligadura en día de sábado?

And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”

Y a estas palabras quedaron avergonzados todos sus contrarios; y todo el pueblo se complacía en sus gloriosas acciones.

Y diciendo estas cosas, se avergonzaban todos sus adversarios: mas todo el pueblo se gozaba de todas las cosas gloriosas que eran por él hechas.

And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

Decía también Jesús : ¿A qué cosa es semejante el reino de Dios, o con qué podré compararlo?

Y dijo: ¿A qué es semejante el reino de Dios, y á qué le compararé?

Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?

He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?

Es semejante a un grano de mostaza que tomó un hombre y lo sembró en su huerta; el cual fue creciendo hasta llegar a ser un árbol grande, de suerte que las aves del cielo posaban en sus ramas.

Semejante es al grano de la mostaza, que tomándolo un hombre lo metió en su huerto; y creció, y fué hecho árbol grande, y las aves del cielo hicieron nidos en sus ramas.

It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”

Y volvió a repetir: ¿A qué cosa diré que se asemeja el reino de Dios?

Y otra vez dijo: ¿A qué compararé el reino de Dios?

And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?

Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?

Es semejante a la levadura que tomó una mujer y la revolvió en tres medidas de harina, hasta que hubo fermentado toda la masa.

Semejante es á la levadura, que tomó una mujer, y la escondió en tres medidas de harina, hasta que todo hubo fermentado.

It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”

E iba así enseñando por las ciudades y aldeas, de camino para Jerusalén .

Y pasaba por todas las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando, y caminando á Jerusalem.

And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.

Y uno le preguntó: Señor, ¿es verdad que son pocos los que se salvan. El en respuesta dijo a los oyentes:

Y díjole uno: Señor, ¿son pocos los que se salvan? Y él les dijo:

Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,

Esforzaos a entrar por la puerta angosta; porque os aseguro que muchos buscarán cómo entrar, y no podrán.

Porfiad á entrar por la puerta angosta; porque os digo que muchos procurarán entrar, y no podrán.

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.

Y después que el padre de familia hubiere entrado y cerrado la puerta, empezaréis, estando fuera, a llamar a la puerta diciendo: ¡Señor, Señor, ábrenos!, y él os responderá: No os conozco, ni sé de dónde sois.

Después que el padre de familia se levantare, y cerrare la puerta, y comenzareis á estar fuera, y llamar á la puerta, diciendo: Señor, Señor, ábrenos; y respondiendo os dirá: No os conozco de dónde seáis.

When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

Entonces alegaréis en favor vuestro: Nosotros hemos comido y bebido contigo, y tú predicaste en nuestras plazas.

Entonces comenzaréis á decir: Delante de ti hemos comido y bebido, y en nuestras plazas enseñaste;

Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

Y él os repetirá: No sé de dónde sois. Apartaos de mí todos vosotros, artífices de la maldad.

Y os dirá: Dígoos que no os conozco de dónde seáis; apartaos de mí todos los obreros de iniquidad.

But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’

Allí será el llanto y el rechinar de dientes; cuando veréis a Abrahán, y a Isaac, y a Jacob , y a todos los profetas en el reino de Dios, mientras vosotros sois arrojados fuera.

Allí será el llanto y el crujir de dientes, cuando viereis á Abraham, y á Isaac, y á Jacob, y á todos los profetas en el reino de Dios, y vosotros excluídos.

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.

Y vendrán también gentes del oriente y del occidente, del norte y del mediodía, y se pondrán a la mesa en el convite del reino de Dios.

Y vendrán del Oriente y del Occidente, del Norte y del Mediodía, y se sentarán á la mesa en el reino de Dios.

And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.

Y ved aquí que los que son los últimos serán los primeros, y los que son primeros serán los últimos.

Y he aquí, son postreros los que eran los primeros; y son primeros los que eran los postreros.

And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”

En el mismo día vinieron algunos fariseos a decirle: Sal de aquí, y retírate a otra parte, porque Herodes quiere matarte.

Aquel mismo día llegaron unos de los Fariseos, diciéndole: Sal, y vete de aquí, porque Herodes te quiere matar.

The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.

On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”

Y les respondió: Andad, y decid de mi parte a ese zorro: Sábete que aún he de lanzar demonios y sanar enfermos el día de hoy, y el de mañana, pero al tercer día soy finado.

Y les dijo: Id, y decid á aquella zorra: He aquí, echo fuera demonios y acabo sanidades hoy y mañana, y al tercer día soy consumado.

And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.

No obstante, así hoy como mañana, y pasado mañana, conviene que yo siga mi camino porque no cabe que un profeta pierda la vida fuera de Jerusalén .

Empero es menester que hoy, y mañana, y pasado mañana camine; porque no es posible que profeta muera fuera de Jerusalem.

Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’

¡Oh Jerusalén , Jerusalén , que matas a los profetas,y apedreas a los que a ti son enviados!, ¿cuántas veces quise recoger a tus hijos, a la manera que el ave cubre su nidada debajo de sus alas, y tú no has querido?

¡Jerusalem, Jerusalem! que matas á los profetas, y apedreas á los que son enviados á ti: ¡cuántas veces quise juntar tus hijos, como la gallina sus pollos debajo de sus alas, y no quisiste!

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!

¡Pueblo ingrato!: He aquí que vuestra morada va a quedar desierta. Y os declaro que ya no me veréis más, hasta que llegue el día en que digáis: ¡Bendito sea el que viene en nombre del Señor!

He aquí, os es dejada vuestra casa desierta: y os digo que no me veréis, hasta que venga tiempo cuando digáis: Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor.

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
