Se não puder ,estando o outro ainda longe, manda -lhe representantes diplomáticos, e roga pela paz.

De otra manera, cuando aun el otro está lejos, le ruega por la paz, enviándole embajada.

Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
