Il arriva aussi que Jésus étant entré un jour de Sabbat dans la maison d’un des principaux des Pharisiens, pour prendre son repas, ils l’observaient.
Y ACONTECIÓ que entrando en casa de un príncipe de los Fariseos un sábado á comer pan, ellos le acechaban.
And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
When he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread, they were watching him.
Et voici, un homme hydropique était là devant lui.
Y he aquí un hombre hidrópico estaba delante de él.
And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
Behold, a certain man who had dropsy was in front of him.
Et Jésus prenant la parole, parla aux Docteurs de la Loi, et aux Pharisiens, disant : est-il permis de guérir au jour du Sabbat ?
Y respondiendo Jesús, habló á los doctores de la ley y á los Fariseos, diciendo: ¿Es lícito sanar en sábado?
And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”
Et ils ne dirent mot. Alors ayant pris le malade, il le guérit, et le renvoya.
Y ellos callaron. Entonces él tomándole, le sanó, y despidióle.
And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;
But they were silent. He took him, and healed him, and let him go.
Puis s’adressant à eux, il leur dit : qui sera celui d’entre vous, qui ayant un âne ou un boeuf lequel vienne à tomber dans un puits, ne l’en retire aussitôt le jour du Sabbat ?
Y respondiendo á ellos dijo: ¿El asno ó el buey de cuál de vosotros caerá en algún pozo, y no lo sacará luego en día de sábado?
And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
He answered them, “Which of you, if your son or an ox fell into a well, wouldn’t immediately pull him out on a Sabbath day?”
Et ils ne pouvaient répliquer à ces choses.
Y no le podían replicar á estas cosas.
And they could not answer him again to these things.
They couldn’t answer him regarding these things.
Il proposait aussi aux conviés une similitude, prenant garde comment ils choisissaient les premières places à table, et il leur disait :
Y observando cómo escogían los primeros asientos á la mesa, propuso una parábola á los convidados, diciéndoles:
And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,
He spoke a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the best seats, and said to them,
Quand tu seras convié par quelqu’un à des noces, ne te mets point à table à la première place, de peur qu’il n’arrive qu’un plus honorable que toi soit aussi convié ;
Cuando fueres convidado de alguno á bodas, no te sientes en el primer lugar, no sea que otro más honrado que tú esté por él convidado,
When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
“When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the best seat, since perhaps someone more honorable than you might be invited by him,
Et que celui qui vous aura convié, ne vienne, et ne te dise : donne ta place à celui-ci ; et qu’alors tu ne commences avec honte de te mettre à la dernière place.
Y viniendo el que te llamó á ti y á él, te diga: Da lugar á éste: y entonces comiences con vergüenza á tener el lugar último.
And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
and he who invited both of you would come and tell you, ‘Make room for this person.’ Then you would begin, with shame, to take the lowest place.
Mais quand tu seras convié, va, et te mets à la dernière place, afin que quand celui qui t’a convié viendra, il te dise : mon ami, monte plus haut ; et alors cela te tournera à honneur devant tous ceux qui seront à table avec toi.
Mas cuando fueres convidado, ve, y siéntate en el postrer lugar; porque cuando viniere el que te llamó, te diga: Amigo, sube arriba: entonces tendrás gloria delante de los que juntamente se asientan á la mesa.
But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.
Car quiconque s’élève, sera abaissé ; et quiconque s’abaisse, sera élevé.
Porque cualquiera que se ensalza, será humillado; y el que se humilla, será ensalzado.
For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
Il disait aussi à celui qui l’avait convié : quand tu fais un dîner ou un souper, n’invite point tes amis, ni tes frères, ni tes parents, ni tes riches voisins ; de peur qu’ils ne te convient à leur tour, et que la pareille ne te soit rendue.
Y dijo también al que le había convidado: Cuando haces comida ó cena, no llames á tus amigos, ni á tus hermanos, ni á tus parientes, ni á vecinos ricos; porque también ellos no te vuelvan á convidar, y te sea hecha compensación.
Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
He also said to the one who had invited him, “When you make a dinner or a supper, don’t call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor rich neighbors, or perhaps they might also return the favor, and pay you back.
Mais quand tu feras un festin, convie les pauvres, les impotents, les boiteux et les aveugles ;
Mas cuando haces banquete, llama á los pobres, los mancos, los cojos, los ciegos;
But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
But when you make a feast, ask the poor, the maimed, the lame, or the blind;
Et tu seras bienheureux de ce qu’ils n’ont pas de quoi te rendre la pareille ; car la pareille te sera rendue en la résurrection des justes.
Y serás bienaventurado; porque no te pueden retribuir; mas te será recompensado en la resurrección de los justos.
And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
and you will be blessed, because they don’t have the resources to repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous.”
Et un de ceux qui étaient à table, ayant entendu ces paroles, lui dit : bienheureux sera celui qui mangera du pain dans le Royaume de Dieu.
Y oyendo esto uno de los que juntamente estaban sentados á la mesa, le dijo: Bienaventurado el que comerá pan en el reino de los cielos.
And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
When one of those who sat at the table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is he who will feast in God’s Kingdom!”
Et Jésus dit : un homme fit un grand souper, et y convia beaucoup de gens.
El entonces le dijo: Un hombre hizo una grande cena, y convidó á muchos.
Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
But he said to him, “A certain man made a great supper, and he invited many people.
Et à l’heure du souper il envoya son serviteur pour dire aux conviés : venez, car tout est déjà prêt.
Y á la hora de la cena envió á su siervo á decir á los convidados: Venid, que ya está todo aparejado.
And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
He sent out his servant at supper time to tell those who were invited, ‘Come, for everything is ready now.’
Mais ils commencèrent tous unanimement à s’excuser. Le premier lui dit : j’ai acheté un héritage, et il me faut nécessairement partir pour l’aller voir ; je te prie, tiens-moi pour excusé.
Y comenzaron todos á una á excusarse. El primero le dijo: He comprado una hacienda, y necesito salir y verla; te ruego que me des por excusado.
And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
They all as one began to make excuses. “The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please have me excused.’
Un autre dit : j’ai acheté cinq couples de boeufs, et je m’en vais les éprouver ; je te prie, tiens-moi pour excusé.
Y el otro dijo: He comprado cinco yuntas de bueyes, y voy á probarlos; ruégote que me des por excusado.
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
“Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go try them out. Please have me excused.’
Et un autre dit : j’ai épousé une femme, c’est pourquoi je n’y puis aller.
Y el otro dijo: Acabo de casarme, y por tanto no puedo ir.
And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
“Another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I can’t come.’
Ainsi le serviteur s’en retourna, et rapporta ces choses à son maître. Alors le père de famille tout en colère, dit à son serviteur : va-t’en promptement dans les places et dans les rues de la ville, et amène ici les pauvres, et les impotents, et les boiteux et les aveugles.
Y vuelto el siervo, hizo saber estas cosas á su señor. Entonces enojado el padre de la familia, dijo á su siervo: Ve presto por las plazas y por las calles de la ciudad, y mete acá los pobres, los mancos, y cojos, y ciegos.
So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
“That servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, maimed, blind, and lame.’
Puis le serviteur dit : Maître, il a été fait ainsi que tu as commandé, et il y a encore de la place.
Y dijo el siervo: Señor, hecho es como mandaste, y aun hay lugar.
And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
“The servant said, ‘Lord, it is done as you commanded, and there is still room.’
Et le maître dit au serviteur : va dans les chemins et le long des haies, et ceux que tu trouveras, contrains-les d’entrer, afin que ma maison soit remplie.
Y dijo el señor al siervo: Ve por los caminos y por los vallados, y fuérzalos á entrar, para que se llene mi casa.
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
“The lord said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Car je vous dis qu’aucun de ces hommes qui avaient été conviés ne goûtera de mon souper.
Porque os digo que ninguno de aquellos hombres que fueron llamados, gustará mi cena.
For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
For I tell you that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper. For many are called, but few are chosen.’”
Or de grandes troupes allaient avec lui ; et lui se tournant leur dit :
Y muchas gentes iban con él; y volviéndose les dijo:
And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,
Now great multitudes were going with him. He turned and said to them,
Si quelqu’un vient vers moi, et ne hait pas son père et sa mère, et sa femme et ses enfants, et ses frères, et ses soeurs, et même sa propre vie, il ne peut être mon disciple.
Si alguno viene á mí, y no aborrece á su padre, y madre, y mujer, é hijos, y hermanos, y hermanas, y aun también su vida, no puede ser mi discípulo.
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
“If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t disregard his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple.
Et quiconque ne porte sa croix, et ne vient après moi, il ne peut être mon disciple.
Y cualquiera que no trae su cruz, y viene en pos de mí, no puede ser mi discípulo.
And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Whoever doesn’t bear his own cross and come after me, can’t be my disciple.
Mais qui est celui d’entre vous, qui voulant bâtir une tour, ne s’asseye premièrement, et ne calcule la dépense pour voir s’il a de quoi l’achever ?
Porque ¿cuál de vosotros, queriendo edificar una torre, no cuenta primero sentado los gastos, si tiene lo que necesita para acabarla?
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?
De peur qu’après en avoir jeté le fondement, et n’ayant pu achever, tous ceux qui le verront ne commencent à se moquer de lui ;
Porque después que haya puesto el fundamento, y no pueda acabarla, todos los que lo vieren, no comiencen á hacer burla de él,
Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation and isn’t able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him,
En disant : cet homme a commencé à bâtir, et il n’a pu achever.
Diciendo: Este hombre comenzó á edificar, y no pudo acabar.
Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
saying, ‘This man began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
Ou, qui est le Roi qui parte pour donner bataille à un autre Roi, qui premièrement ne s’asseye, et ne consulte s’il pourra avec dix mille hommes aller à la rencontre de celui qui vient contre lui avec vingt mille ?
¿O cuál rey, habiendo de ir á hacer guerra contra otro rey, sentándose primero no consulta si puede salir al encuentro con diez mil al que viene contra él con veinte mil?
Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
Autrement, il lui envoie une ambassade, pendant qu’il est encore loin, et demande la paix.
De otra manera, cuando aun el otro está lejos, le ruega por la paz, enviándole embajada.
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy and asks for conditions of peace.
Ainsi donc chacun de vous qui ne renonce pas à tout ce qu’il a, ne peut être mon disciple.
Así pues, cualquiera de vosotros que no renuncia á todas las cosas que posee, no puede ser mi discípulo.
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
So therefore, whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.
Le sel est bon ; mais si le sel devient insipide, avec quoi le salera-t-on ?
Buena es la sal; mas si aun la sal fuere desvanecida, ¿con qué se adobará?
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
“Salt is good, but if the salt becomes flat and tasteless, with what do you season it?
Il n’est propre ni pour la terre, ni pour le fumier ; mais on le jette dehors. Qui a des oreilles pour ouïr, qu’il entende !
Ni para la tierra, ni para el muladar es buena; fuera la arrojan. Quien tiene oídos para oir, oiga.
It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
