Lucas 14

Als er dann an einem Sabbat in das Haus eines der Obersten der Pharisäer gekommen war, um dort am Mahl teilzunehmen, lauerten sie ihm auf.

Y ACONTECIÓ que entrando en casa de un príncipe de los Fariseos un sábado á comer pan, ellos le acechaban.

And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.

When he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread, they were watching him.

Und siehe, ein wassersüchtiger Mann erschien dort vor ihm.

Y he aquí un hombre hidrópico estaba delante de él.

And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.

Behold, a certain man who had dropsy was in front of him.

Da richtete Jesus die Frage an die Gesetzeslehrer und Pharisäer: »Darf man am Sabbat heilen oder nicht?«

Y respondiendo Jesús, habló á los doctores de la ley y á los Fariseos, diciendo: ¿Es lícito sanar en sábado?

And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?

Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

Sie aber schwiegen. Da faßte er ihn an, heilte ihn und hieß ihn gehen.

Y ellos callaron. Entonces él tomándole, le sanó, y despidióle.

And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

But they were silent. He took him, and healed him, and let him go.

Hierauf sagte er zu ihnen: »Wem von euch wird sein Sohn oder sein Rind in einen Brunnen fallen, und er wird ihn nicht sofort auch am Sabbattage herausziehen?«

Y respondiendo á ellos dijo: ¿El asno ó el buey de cuál de vosotros caerá en algún pozo, y no lo sacará luego en día de sábado?

And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

He answered them, “Which of you, if your son or an ox fell into a well, wouldn’t immediately pull him out on a Sabbath day?”

Und sie vermochten ihm auf diese Frage keine widersprechende Antwort zu geben.

Y no le podían replicar á estas cosas.

And they could not answer him again to these things.

They couldn’t answer him regarding these things.

Er legte aber den Gästen ein Gleichnis vor, weil er beobachtete, wie sie sich die obersten Plätze aussuchten, und sagte zu ihnen:

Y observando cómo escogían los primeros asientos á la mesa, propuso una parábola á los convidados, diciéndoles:

And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,

He spoke a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the best seats, and said to them,

»Wenn du von jemand zu einem Festmahl eingeladen bist, so setze dich nicht obenan; es könnte sonst jemand, der noch vornehmer ist als du, von ihm geladen sein,

Cuando fueres convidado de alguno á bodas, no te sientes en el primer lugar, no sea que otro más honrado que tú esté por él convidado,

When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;

“When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the best seat, since perhaps someone more honorable than you might be invited by him,

und dann würde der, welcher dich und ihn geladen hat, kommen und zu dir sagen: ›Tritt diesem da den Platz ab!‹, und du müßtest dich alsdann dazu verstehen, beschämt untenan zu sitzen.

Y viniendo el que te llamó á ti y á él, te diga: Da lugar á éste: y entonces comiences con vergüenza á tener el lugar último.

And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.

and he who invited both of you would come and tell you, ‘Make room for this person.’ Then you would begin, with shame, to take the lowest place.

Nein, wenn du eingeladen bist, so gehe hin und setze dich untenan; dann wird der Gastgeber kommen und zu dir sagen: ›Freund, rücke weiter nach oben!‹, dann wirst du in den Augen aller deiner Tischgenossen geehrt dastehen.

Mas cuando fueres convidado, ve, y siéntate en el postrer lugar; porque cuando viniere el que te llamó, te diga: Amigo, sube arriba: entonces tendrás gloria delante de los que juntamente se asientan á la mesa.

But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.

Denn wer sich selbst erhöht, wird erniedrigt werden, und wer sich selbst erniedrigt, wird erhöht werden.«

Porque cualquiera que se ensalza, será humillado; y el que se humilla, será ensalzado.

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

Er sagte dann auch zu dem, der ihn eingeladen hatte: »Wenn du ein Mittagsmahl oder ein Abendessen veranstaltest, so lade nicht deine Freunde und deine Brüder, nicht deine Verwandten und reichen Nachbarn dazu ein; sonst laden auch sie dich wieder ein, und dir wird Gleiches mit Gleichem vergolten.

Y dijo también al que le había convidado: Cuando haces comida ó cena, no llames á tus amigos, ni á tus hermanos, ni á tus parientes, ni á vecinos ricos; porque también ellos no te vuelvan á convidar, y te sea hecha compensación.

Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.

He also said to the one who had invited him, “When you make a dinner or a supper, don’t call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor rich neighbors, or perhaps they might also return the favor, and pay you back.

Nein, wenn du ein Gastmahl veranstalten willst, so lade Arme und Krüppel, Lahme und Blinde dazu ein,

Mas cuando haces banquete, llama á los pobres, los mancos, los cojos, los ciegos;

But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

But when you make a feast, ask the poor, the maimed, the lame, or the blind;

dann wirst du glückselig sein, weil sie es dir nicht vergelten können; denn es wird dir bei der Auferstehung der Gerechten vergolten werden.«

Y serás bienaventurado; porque no te pueden retribuir; mas te será recompensado en la resurrección de los justos.

And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

and you will be blessed, because they don’t have the resources to repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous.”

Als einer von den Tischgenossen dies hörte, sagte er zu ihm: »Glückselig ist, wer am Mahl im Reiche Gottes teilnehmen wird!«

Y oyendo esto uno de los que juntamente estaban sentados á la mesa, le dijo: Bienaventurado el que comerá pan en el reino de los cielos.

And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

When one of those who sat at the table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is he who will feast in God’s Kingdom!”

Jesus aber antwortete ihm: »Ein Mann veranstaltete ein großes Gastmahl und lud viele dazu ein.

El entonces le dijo: Un hombre hizo una grande cena, y convidó á muchos.

Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

But he said to him, “A certain man made a great supper, and he invited many people.

Er sandte dann seinen Knecht zur Stunde des Gastmahls aus und ließ den Geladenen sagen, sie möchten kommen, denn es sei nunmehr alles bereit.

Y á la hora de la cena envió á su siervo á decir á los convidados: Venid, que ya está todo aparejado.

And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

He sent out his servant at supper time to tell those who were invited, ‘Come, for everything is ready now.’

Da begannen alle ohne Ausnahme sich zu entschuldigen. Der erste ließ ihm sagen: ›Ich habe einen Acker gekauft und muß notwendigerweise hingehen, um ihn zu besichtigen; ich bitte dich: sieh mich als entschuldigt an!‹

Y comenzaron todos á una á excusarse. El primero le dijo: He comprado una hacienda, y necesito salir y verla; te ruego que me des por excusado.

And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

They all as one began to make excuses. “The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please have me excused.’

Ein anderer sagte: ›Ich habe fünf Joch Ochsen gekauft und muß hingehen, um sie zu erproben; ich bitte dich: sieh mich als entschuldigt an!‹

Y el otro dijo: He comprado cinco yuntas de bueyes, y voy á probarlos; ruégote que me des por excusado.

And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

“Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go try them out. Please have me excused.’

Wieder ein anderer sagte: ›Ich habe mich verheiratet, kann also nicht kommen.‹

Y el otro dijo: Acabo de casarme, y por tanto no puedo ir.

And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

“Another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I can’t come.’

Als nun der Knecht zurückkam, berichtete er dies seinem Herrn. Da wurde der Hausherr zornig und gab seinem Knecht die Weisung: ›Gehe schnell hinaus auf die Straßen und Gassen der Stadt und bringe die Armen und Krüppel, die Blinden und Lahmen hierher.‹

Y vuelto el siervo, hizo saber estas cosas á su señor. Entonces enojado el padre de la familia, dijo á su siervo: Ve presto por las plazas y por las calles de la ciudad, y mete acá los pobres, los mancos, y cojos, y ciegos.

So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

“That servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, maimed, blind, and lame.’

Der Knecht meldete dann: ›Herr, dein Befehl ist ausgeführt, doch es ist noch Platz vorhanden.‹

Y dijo el siervo: Señor, hecho es como mandaste, y aun hay lugar.

And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

“The servant said, ‘Lord, it is done as you commanded, and there is still room.’

Da sagte der Herr zu dem Knecht: ›Gehe auf die Landstraßen und an die Zäune hinaus und nötige die Leute dort hereinzukommen, damit mein Haus voll werde!

Y dijo el señor al siervo: Ve por los caminos y por los vallados, y fuérzalos á entrar, para que se llene mi casa.

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

“The lord said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Denn ich sage euch: Keiner von jenen Männern, die (zuerst) geladen waren, wird mein Gastmahl zu kosten bekommen.‹«

Porque os digo que ninguno de aquellos hombres que fueron llamados, gustará mi cena.

For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

For I tell you that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper. For many are called, but few are chosen.’”

Es zogen aber große Volksscharen mit ihm; da wandte er sich um und sagte zu ihnen:

Y muchas gentes iban con él; y volviéndose les dijo:

And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

Now great multitudes were going with him. He turned and said to them,

»Wenn jemand zu mir kommt und nicht seinen Vater und seine Mutter, sein Weib und seine Kinder, seine Brüder und seine Schwestern, ja sogar sein eigenes Leben haßt, so kann er nicht mein Jünger sein.

Si alguno viene á mí, y no aborrece á su padre, y madre, y mujer, é hijos, y hermanos, y hermanas, y aun también su vida, no puede ser mi discípulo.

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

“If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t disregard his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple.

Wer nicht sein Kreuz trägt und mir nachfolgt, der kann nicht mein Jünger sein.«

Y cualquiera que no trae su cruz, y viene en pos de mí, no puede ser mi discípulo.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Whoever doesn’t bear his own cross and come after me, can’t be my disciple.

»Denn wer unter euch, der einen Turm zu bauen beabsichtigt, setzt sich nicht zuerst hin und berechnet die Kosten, ob er auch die Mittel zur Ausführung des Planes habe?

Porque ¿cuál de vosotros, queriendo edificar una torre, no cuenta primero sentado los gastos, si tiene lo que necesita para acabarla?

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?

Sonst, wenn er den Grund gelegt hat, und er den Bau nicht zu Ende führen kann, werden alle, die es sehen, anfangen über ihn zu spotten

Porque después que haya puesto el fundamento, y no pueda acabarla, todos los que lo vieren, no comiencen á hacer burla de él,

Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation and isn’t able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him,

und werden sagen: ›Dieser Mensch hat den Bau begonnen, doch ihn nicht zu Ende führen können.‹

Diciendo: Este hombre comenzó á edificar, y no pudo acabar.

Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

saying, ‘This man began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’

Oder welcher König, der zum Kriege mit einem andern König ausziehen will, setzt sich nicht zuerst hin und geht mit sich zu Rat, ob er imstande ist, mit zehntausend Mann dem entgegenzutreten, der mit zwanzigtausend gegen ihn anrückt?

¿O cuál rey, habiendo de ir á hacer guerra contra otro rey, sentándose primero no consulta si puede salir al encuentro con diez mil al que viene contra él con veinte mil?

Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?

Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

Sonst muß er, solange jener noch weit entfernt ist, eine Gesandtschaft an ihn schicken und um Friedensverhandlungen bitten.

De otra manera, cuando aun el otro está lejos, le ruega por la paz, enviándole embajada.

Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy and asks for conditions of peace.

Ebenso kann keiner von euch mein Jünger sein, der sich nicht von allem lossagt, was er besitzt. –

Así pues, cualquiera de vosotros que no renuncia á todas las cosas que posee, no puede ser mi discípulo.

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

So therefore, whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.

Das Salz ist also etwas Gutes; wenn aber einmal auch das Salz fade geworden ist, womit soll man es wieder zu Salz machen?

Buena es la sal; mas si aun la sal fuere desvanecida, ¿con qué se adobará?

Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

“Salt is good, but if the salt becomes flat and tasteless, with what do you season it?

Weder für den Acker noch für den Düngerhaufen ist es brauchbar: man wirft es eben aus dem Hause hinaus. Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre!«

Ni para la tierra, ni para el muladar es buena; fuera la arrojan. Quien tiene oídos para oir, oiga.

It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
