Lucas 16

Depois Jesus disse aos seus discípulos: “Um homem rico contratou um administrador para administrar seus negócios, mas logo correram boatos de que o administrador estava desperdiçando os seus bens.

Y DIJO también á sus discípulos: Había un hombre rico, el cual tenía un mayordomo, y éste fué acusado delante de él como disipador de sus bienes.

And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

He also said to his disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a manager. An accusation was made to him that this man was wasting his possessions.

Então o patrão o chamou e disse: ‘Que história é essa que eu estou ouvindo, que você está me roubando? Ponha suas contas em ordem, porque você vai ser despedido’.

Y le llamó, y le dijo: ¿Qué es esto que oigo de ti? Da cuenta de tu mayordomía, porque ya no podrás más ser mayordomo.

And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

He called him, and said to him, ‘What is this that I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management, for you can no longer be manager.’

“O administrador pensou consigo mesmo: ‘E agora? Meu patrão está me despedindo. Que farei? Não tenho força para a lavoura, e sou orgulhoso demais para pedir esmolas.

Entonces el mayordomo dijo dentro de sí: ¿Qué haré? que mi señor me quita la mayordomía. Cavar, no puedo; mendigar, tengo vergüenza.

Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

“The manager said within himself, ‘What will I do, seeing that my lord is taking away the management position from me? I don’t have strength to dig. I am ashamed to beg.

Já sei o que vou fazer! Desta forma eu terei uma porção de amigos para cuidarem de mim quando eu for embora!’

Yo sé lo que haré para que cuando fuere quitado de la mayordomía, me reciban en sus casas.

I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from management, they may receive me into their houses.’

“Então ele convidou todos que deviam dinheiro ao patrão dele para virem acertar a sua situação. Perguntou ao primeiro deles: ‘Quanto você deve ao patrão?’

Y llamando á cada uno de los deudores de su señor, dijo al primero: ¿Cuánto debes á mi señor?

So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

Calling each one of his lord’s debtors to him, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe to my lord?’

‘Minha dívida é de cem potes de azeite’, respondeu o homem. “ ‘Bem, aqui está o contrato que você assinou’, disse-lhe o administrador. ‘Rasgue-o e escreva cinquenta!’

Y él dijo: Cien barriles de aceite. Y le dijo: Toma tu obligación, y siéntate presto, y escribe cincuenta.

And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

He said, ‘A hundred batos of oil.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’

“A seguir ele perguntou ao segundo: ‘E você, quanto deve a ele?’ ‘Cem tonéis de trigo’, foi a resposta. “O administrador disse: ‘Tome a sua nota e escreva oitenta tonéis!’

Después dijo á otro: ¿Y tú, cuánto debes? Y él dijo: Cien coros de trigo. Y él le dijo: Toma tu obligación, y escribe ochenta.

Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

Then he said to another, ‘How much do you owe?’ He said, ‘A hundred cors of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’

“O homem rico elogiou o administrador desonesto por ser tão prudente. É verdade que as pessoas deste mundo são mais prudentes no trato entre si do que aqueles que amam a Deus.

Y alabó el señor al mayordomo malo por haber hecho discretamente; porque los hijos de este siglo son en su generación más sagaces que los hijos de luz.

And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

“His lord commended the dishonest manager because he had done wisely, for the children of this world are, in their own generation, wiser than the children of the light.

Eu, porém, lhes digo: usem as riquezas deste mundo para conseguir amigos a fim de que, quando as riquezas faltarem, eles os recebam nas moradas eternas.

Y yo os digo: Haceos amigos de las riquezas de maldad, para que cuando faltareis, os reciban en las moradas eternas.

And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

I tell you, make for yourselves friends by means of unrighteous mammon, so that when you fail, they may receive you into the eternal tents.

“Quem é fiel no pouco, também é fiel no muito, e quem é desonesto no pouco, também é desonesto no muito.

El que es fiel en lo muy poco, también en lo más es fiel: y el que en lo muy poco es injusto, también en lo más es injusto.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.

E se vocês não são dignos de confiança em lidar com as riquezas deste mundo, quem confiará os verdadeiros tesouros a vocês?

Pues si en las malas riquezas no fuisteis fieles, ¿quién os confiará lo verdadero?

If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

E se vocês não forem dignos de confiança com o dinheiro dos outros, como poderão assumir a responsabilidade pelo seu próprio dinheiro?

Y si en lo ajeno no fuisteis fieles, ¿quién os dará lo que es vuestro?

And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?

If you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?

“Nenhum servo pode servir a dois patrões. Vocês odiarão a um e mostrarão lealdade ao outro, ou gostarão de um e desprezarão o outro. Vocês não podem servir a Deus e ao dinheiro”.

Ningún siervo puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se allegará al uno y menospreciará al otro. No podéis servir á Dios y á las riquezas.

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to one and despise the other. You aren’t able to serve God and Mammon.”

Os fariseus que amavam profundamente o seu dinheiro ouviam isso e zombavam de Jesus.

Y oían también todas estas cosas los Fariseos, los cuales eran avaros, y se burlaban de él.

And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.

Então Jesus disse: “Vocês são os que se justificam a si mesmos aos olhos dos homens, mas Deus conhece o coração de vocês. Pois aquilo que as pessoas acham que vale muito é detestável aos olhos de Deus.

Y díjoles: Vosotros sois los que os justificáis á vosotros mismos delante de los hombres; mas Dios conoce vuestros corazones; porque lo que los hombres tienen por sublime, delante de Dios es abominación.

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

“Até quando João Batista começou a pregar, a Lei e os Profetas eram a orientação que vocês tinham. Mas João trouxe a boa-nova do Reino de Deus, e agora as multidões ansiosas estão forçando a entrada nele.

La ley y los profetas hasta Juan: desde entonces el reino de Dios es anunciado, y quienquiera se esfuerza á entrar en él.

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

“The law and the prophets were until John. From that time the Good News of God’s Kingdom is preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.

É mais fácil o céu e a terra desaparecerem do que cair um simples traço da Lei.

Empero más fácil cosa es pasar el cielo y la tierra, que frustrarse un tilde de la ley.

And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tiny stroke of a pen in the law to fall.

“Portanto, quem se divorciar de sua esposa e se casar com outra mulher, pratica adultério; e quem se casar com a mulher divorciada, também pratica adultério”.

Cualquiera que repudia á su mujer, y se casa con otra, adultera: y el que se casa con la repudiada del marido, adultera.

Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. He who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.

“Era uma vez um homem rico que se vestia de púrpura e linho fino e vivia em prazer e luxo todos os dias.

Había un hombre rico, que se vestía de púrpura y de lino fino, y hacía cada día banquete con esplendidez.

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

“Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, living in luxury every day.

Lázaro, um mendigo coberto de feridas, que costumavam deixar perto da porta do rico, ficava sempre ali.

Había también un mendigo llamado Lázaro, el cual estaba echado á la puerta de él, lleno de llagas,

And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

A certain beggar, named Lazarus, was taken to his gate, full of sores,

E desejava comer o que caía da mesa do homem rico, e os cachorros vinham lamber as suas feridas.

Y deseando hartarse de las migajas que caían de la mesa del rico; y aun los perros venían y le lamían las llagas.

And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores.

“Finalmente o mendigo morreu, e foi levado pelos anjos para a presença de Abraão. O rico também morreu e foi sepultado.

Y aconteció que murió el mendigo, y fué llevado por los ángeles al seno de Abraham: y murió también el rico, y fué sepultado.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

The beggar died, and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.

No inferno, sofrendo, ele podia ver Lázaro de longe com Abraão ao seu lado.

Y en el infierno alzó sus ojos, estando en los tormentos, y vió á Abraham de lejos, y á Lázaro en su seno.

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

In Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom.

Então clamou: ‘Pai Abraão, tenha compaixão de mim e mande Lázaro ao menos molhar a ponta do dedo e refrescar a minha língua, pois eu estou sofrendo nestas chamas’.

Entonces él, dando voces, dijo: Padre Abraham, ten misericordia de mí, y envía á Lázaro que moje la punta de su dedo en agua, y refresque mi lengua; porque soy atormentado en esta llama.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’

“Mas Abraão lhe disse: ‘Filho, lembre-se de que durante a sua vida você teve tudo quanto queria, e Lázaro não teve nada. Agora, porém, ele está aqui sendo consolado e você sofrendo tormentos.

Y díjole Abraham: Hijo, acuérdate que recibiste tus bienes en tu vida, y Lázaro también males; mas ahora éste es consolado aquí, y tú atormentado.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

“But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in the same way, bad things. But here he is now comforted and you are in anguish.

Além disso, há um grande abismo separando-nos, de modo que quem quiser ir daqui para lá, é impedido, e ninguém pode chegar do seu lado para o nosso’.

Y además de todo esto, una grande sima está constituída entre nosotros y vosotros, que los que quisieren pasar de aquí á vosotros, no pueden, ni de allá pasar acá.

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, and that no one may cross over from there to us.’

“Então o rico disse: ‘Ó Pai Abraão, então por favor mande Lázaro à casa do meu pai,

Y dijo: Ruégote pues, padre, que le envíes á la casa de mi padre;

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:

“He said, ‘I ask you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house—

pois tenho cinco irmãos, para avisar todos a respeito deste lugar de sofrimento, a fim de que eles não venham parar aqui quando morrerem’.

Porque tengo cinco hermanos; para que les testifique, porque no vengan ellos también á este lugar de tormento.

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

for I have five brothers—that he may testify to them, so they won’t also come into this place of torment.’

“Mas Abraão respondeu: ‘Os seus irmãos têm Moisés e os profetas; que eles os ouçam’.

Y Abraham le dice: A Moisés y á los profetas tienen: óiganlos.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

“But Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’

“O rico respondeu: ‘Não, pai Abraão, eles não se darão ao trabalho de ler. Mas se alguém for mandado dos mortos a eles, então abandonarão os seus pecados’.

El entonces dijo: No, padre Abraham: mas si alguno fuere á ellos de los muertos, se arrepentirán.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

“He said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’

“Porém Abraão disse: ‘Se eles não prestam atenção em Moisés e nos profetas, também não ouvirão, mesmo que alguém ressuscite dos mortos’ ”.

Mas Abraham le dijo: Si no oyen á Moisés y á los profetas, tampoco se persuadirán, si alguno se levantare de los muertos.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

“He said to him, ‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.’”
