Lucas 18

Et le publicain, se tenant loin, ne voulait même pas lever les yeux vers le ciel, mais se frappait la poitrine, disant : Ô Dieu, sois apaisé envers moi, pécheur !

Mas el publicano estando lejos no quería ni aun alzar los ojos al cielo, sino que hería su pecho, diciendo: Dios, sé propicio á mí pecador.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
