1Er sagte ihnen aber auch ein Gleichnis dafür, daß sie allezeit beten und nicht ermatten sollten,
2und sprach: Es war ein gewisser Richter in einer Stadt, der Gott nicht fürchtete und vor keinem Menschen sich scheute.
3Es war aber eine Witwe in jener Stadt; und sie kam zu ihm und sprach: Schaffe mir Recht von meinem Widersacher.
4Und eine Zeitlang wollte er nicht; danach aber sprach er bei sich selbst: Wenn ich auch Gott nicht fürchte und vor keinem Menschen mich scheue,
5so will ich doch, weil diese Witwe mir Mühe macht, ihr Recht verschaffen, auf daß sie nicht unaufhörlich komme und mich quäle.
6Der Herr aber sprach: Höret, was der ungerechte Richter sagt.
7Gott aber, sollte er das Recht seiner Auserwählten nicht ausführen, die Tag und Nacht zu ihm schreien, und ist er in Bezug auf sie langsam?
8Ich sage euch, daß er ihr Recht schnell ausführen wird. Doch wird wohl der Sohn des Menschen, wenn er kommt, den Glauben finden auf der Erde?
9Er sprach aber auch zu etlichen, die auf sich selbst vertrauten, daß sie gerecht seien, und die übrigen für nichts achteten, dieses Gleichnis:
10Zwei Menschen gingen hinauf in den Tempel, um zu beten, der eine ein Pharisäer und der andere ein Zöllner.
11Der Pharisäer stand und betete bei sich selbst also: O Gott, ich danke dir, daß ich nicht bin wie die übrigen der Menschen, Räuber, Ungerechte, Ehebrecher, oder auch wie dieser Zöllner.
12Ich faste zweimal in der Woche, ich verzehnte alles, was ich erwerbe.
13Und der Zöllner, von ferne stehend, wollte sogar die Augen nicht aufheben gen Himmel, sondern schlug an seine Brust und sprach: O Gott, sei mir, dem Sünder, gnädig!
14Ich sage euch: Dieser ging gerechtfertigt hinab in sein Haus vor jenem; denn jeder, der sich selbst erhöht, wird erniedrigt werden; wer aber sich selbst erniedrigt, wird erhöht werden.
15Sie brachten aber auch die Kindlein zu ihm, auf daß er sie anrühre. Als aber die Jünger es sahen, verwiesen sie es ihnen.
16Jesus aber rief sie herzu und sprach: Lasset die Kindlein zu mir kommen und wehret ihnen nicht, denn solcher ist das Reich Gottes.
17Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer irgend das Reich Gottes nicht aufnehmen wird wie ein Kindlein, wird nicht in dasselbe eingehen.
18Und es fragte ihn ein gewisser Oberster und sprach: Guter Lehrer, was muß ich getan haben, um ewiges Leben zu ererben?
19Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Was heißest du mich gut? Niemand ist gut, als nur einer, Gott.
20Die Gebote weißt du: “Du sollst nicht ehebrechen; du sollst nicht töten; du sollst nicht stehlen; du sollst nicht falsches Zeugnis geben; ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter”.
21Er aber sprach: Dies alles habe ich beobachtet von meiner Jugend an.
22Als Jesus dies hörte, sprach er zu ihm: Noch eines fehlt dir: Verkaufe alles, was du hast, und verteile es an die Armen, und du wirst einen Schatz in den Himmeln haben, und komm, folge mir nach.
23Als er aber dies hörte, wurde er sehr betrübt, denn er war sehr reich.
24Als aber Jesus sah, daß er sehr betrübt wurde, sprach er: Wie schwerlich werden die, welche Güter haben, in das Reich Gottes eingehen!
25Denn es ist leichter, daß ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr eingehe, als daß ein Reicher in das Reich Gottes eingehe.
26Es sprachen aber die es hörten: Und wer kann dann errettet werden?
27Er aber sprach: Was bei Menschen unmöglich ist, ist möglich bei Gott.
28Petrus aber sprach: Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen und sind dir nachgefolgt.
29Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Es ist niemand, der Haus oder Eltern oder Brüder oder Weib oder Kinder verlassen hat um des Reiches Gottes willen,
30der nicht Vielfältiges empfangen wird in dieser Zeit und in dem kommenden Zeitalter ewiges Leben.
31Er nahm aber die Zwölfe zu sich und sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, wir gehen hinauf nach Jerusalem, und es wird alles vollendet werden, was durch die Propheten auf den Sohn des Menschen geschrieben ist;
32denn er wird den Nationen überliefert werden und wird verspottet und geschmäht und angespieen werden;
33und wenn sie ihn gegeißelt haben, werden sie ihn töten, und am dritten Tage wird er auferstehen.
34Und sie verstanden nichts von diesen Dingen, und dieses Wort war vor ihnen verborgen, und sie begriffen das Gesagte nicht.
35Es geschah aber, als er Jericho nahte, saß ein gewisser Blinder bettelnd am Wege.
36Und als er eine Volksmenge vorbeiziehen hörte, erkundigte er sich, was das wäre.
37Sie verkündeten ihm aber, daß Jesus, der Nazaräer, vorübergehe.
38Und er rief und sprach: Jesu, Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner!
39Und die Vorangehenden bedrohten ihn, daß er schweigen sollte; er aber schrie um so mehr: Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner!
40Jesus aber stand still und hieß ihn zu sich führen. Als er sich aber näherte, fragte er ihn [und sprach]:
41Was willst du, daß ich dir tun soll? Er aber sprach: Herr, daß ich sehend werde!
42Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: Sei sehend! Dein Glaube hat dich geheilt.
43Und alsbald ward er sehend und folgte ihm nach, indem er Gott verherrlichte. Und das ganze Volk, das es sah, gab Gott Lob.

1Y PROPÚSOLES también una parábola sobre que es necesario orar siempre, y no desmayar,
2Diciendo: Había un juez en una ciudad, el cual ni temía á Dios, ni respetaba á hombre.
3Había también en aquella ciudad una viuda, la cual venía á él diciendo: Hazme justicia de mi adversario.
4Pero él no quiso por algún tiempo; mas después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo á Dios, ni tengo respeto á hombre,
5Todavía, porque esta viuda me es molesta, le haré justicia, porque al fin no venga y me muela.
6Y dijo el Señor: Oid lo que dice el juez injusto.
7¿Y Dios no hará justicia á sus escogidos, que claman á él día y noche, aunque sea longánime acerca de ellos?
8Os digo que los defenderá presto. Empero cuando el Hijo del hombre viniere, ¿hallará fe en la tierra?
9Y dijo también á unos que confiaban de sí como justos, y menospreciaban á los otros, esta parábola:
10Dos hombres subieron al templo á orar: el uno Fariseo, el otro publicano.
11El Fariseo, en pie, oraba consigo de esta manera: Dios, te doy gracias, que no soy como los otros hombres, ladrones, injustos, adúlteros, ni aun como este publicano;
12Ayuno dos veces á la semana, doy diezmos de todo lo que poseo.
13Mas el publicano estando lejos no quería ni aun alzar los ojos al cielo, sino que hería su pecho, diciendo: Dios, sé propicio á mí pecador.
14Os digo que éste descendió á su casa justificado antes que el otro; porque cualquiera que se ensalza, será humillado; y el que se humilla, será ensalzado.
15Y traían á él los niños para que los tocase; lo cual viendo los discípulos les reñían.
16Mas Jesús llamándolos, dijo: Dejad los niños venir á mí, y no los impidáis; porque de tales es el reino de Dios.
17De cierto os digo, que cualquiera que no recibiere el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él.
18Y preguntóle un príncipe, diciendo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para poseer la vida eterna?
19Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? ninguno hay bueno sino sólo Dios.
20Los mandamientos sabes: No matarás: No adulterarás: No hurtarás: No dirás falso testimonio: Honra á tu padre y á tu madre.
21Y él dijo: Todas estas cosas he guardado desde mi juventud.
22Y Jesús, oído esto, le dijo: Aun te falta una cosa: vende todo lo que tienes, y da á los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme.
23Entonces él, oídas estas cosas, se puso muy triste, porque era muy rico.
24Y viendo Jesús que se había entristecido mucho, dijo: ¡Cuán dificultosamente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!
25Porque más fácil cosa es entrar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que un rico entrar en el reino de Dios.
26Y los que lo oían, dijeron: ¿Y quién podrá ser salvo?
27Y él les dijo: Lo que es imposible para con los hombres, posible es para Dios.
28Entonces Pedro dijo: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado las posesiones nuestras, y te hemos seguido.
29Y él les dijo: De cierto os digo, que nadie hay que haya dejado casa, padres, ó hermanos, ó mujer, ó hijos, por el reino de Dios,
30Que no haya de recibir mucho más en este tiempo, y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna.
31Y Jesús, tomando á los doce, les dijo: He aquí subimos á Jerusalem, y serán cumplidas todas las cosas que fueron escritas por los profetas, del Hijo del hombre.
32Porque será entregado á las gentes, y será escarnecido, é injuriado, y escupido.
33Y después que le hubieren azotado, le matarán: mas al tercer día resucitará.
34Pero ellos nada de estas cosas entendían, y esta palabra les era encubierta, y no entendían lo que se decía.
35Y aconteció que acercándose él á Jericó, un ciego estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando;
36El cual como oyó la gente que pasaba, preguntó qué era aquello.
37Y dijéronle que pasaba Jesús Nazareno.
38Entonces dió voces, diciendo: Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
39Y los que iban delante, le reñían que callase; mas él clamaba mucho más: Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí.
40Jesús entonces parándose, mandó traerle á sí: y como él llegó, le preguntó,
41Diciendo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y él dijo: Señor, que vea.
42Y Jesús le dijo: Ve, tu fe te ha hecho salvo.
43Y luego vió, y le seguía, glorificando á Dios: y todo el pueblo como lo vió, dió á Dios alabanza.

1And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
9And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
15And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
18And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
19And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
20Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
21And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
22Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
23And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
24And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
25For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
27And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
28Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
29And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,
30Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
31Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
32For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
33And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
34And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
35And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
36And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
37And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
38And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
39And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
40And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
41Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
42And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
43And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

1He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray and not give up,
2saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God and didn’t respect man.
3A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
4He wouldn’t for a while; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man,
5yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
6The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9He also spoke this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others:
10“Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men: extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
13But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
15They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
17Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
18A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
19Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one: God.
20You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”
21He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”
22When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
23But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
24Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
25For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
26Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
27But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
28Peter said, “Look, we have left everything and followed you.”
29He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for God’s Kingdom’s sake,
30who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.”
31He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
32For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
33They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”
34They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.
35As he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
36Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
37They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
38He cried out, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
39Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
40Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41“What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
42Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
43Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
