Car je t’ai craint, parce que tu es un homme sévère ; tu prends ce que tu n’as point mis, et tu moissonnes ce que tu n’as point semé.

Porque tuve miedo de ti, que eres hombre recio; tomas lo que no pusiste, y siegas lo que no sembraste.

For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’
